We are the Turtle Group here at www.3fatchicks.com. We welcome you to join us as we work toward good health and fitness in a persistent manner. Hi Turtles,
Today was my WI day. I am very pleased because in the last weeks of December I only gained eight tenths of a pound. This is very good for me. I have also broken 200# and am in onederland. When I work very hard this year, I will reach goal. I am saying this strongly so that I believe it and make it happen.
Wishing all of you a :
Gail, I hope you find a minute to chime in soon. I am concerned about you.
: and and all good things to everyone!

Happy New Year to all the Turtles
Judy - Christmas was good, but very busy. I was off work for 2 weeks which was nice but was kept busy with the grandchildren, dogs & cats.
I have my first weigh in of the year tonight, so hoping not to be up from last year (would even be happy with a "turtle" (staying the same)
So back on track this week with my eating & over Christmas got in lots of walks.
For my resolutions this year I am going to either give up something or encourage something different each month.
For January it is "No potato chips" and when I approaching February will come with something different. Hoping this will help break some really bad habits and encourage new ones.
Talk soon
Gail

Hi Turtles and happy new year!
I like your idea, Gail, of giving up something each month or adding something that will help you monthly. sounds like a good way to shake things up and get on the right track.
I am still up from last year in weight, but the good thing is I have my head on straight and I have lost 6# since Dec. 5th. I am trying very hard to eat when I am hungry and ignore food the rest of the time. this is a very good run for me and I have had success at the scale every week. :
I hope all of you viewers will consider writing in here once in a while. We always appreciate new points of view and getting to know someone new to share this journey. Sending : to all here.
Judy I'll post my weight once I get back into the 180's# I would like to reach my goal weight this year. The statistics aren't great for me doing that, and yet I am aiming to do my very best...………..and not just say I am doing my best.

Hi turtles - hope you are all doing well
Judy - glad you are back on track! Keep it going!
I stayed same at my meeting last week, so was happy with that and have gone 2 weeks with no potato chips, so very happy with that.
Still having too many social food get togethers - so need to work on cutting back on that this year.
All - chime in and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Turtles,
Glad this site is still up and running. Gail, staying the same is a good thing. Without potato chips, I bet you'll see the scale go down. I have a feeling that when you decide not to eat chips, you will subconsciously also not each other foods that could be a problem.
Very hungry today. I bulked up dinner a bit and now I'm feeling fine. I'm hoping for a loss this week on the scale.
Sending : to all. We can do this!

Okay, got over the nonsense, took the loss as a loss and am heading in right direction. Thinking about what foods have made me successful in losing weight and working them into my day.
Turtles, have a good day. Here's to a : and : and to get you there!

Hi turtles
Judy - any loss is great, good idea to get back with the foods you had success with (your veggie pie - yummy) makes a great breakfast or lunch.
Meeting tonight & hoping for some kind of loss. It will be week 1 of our new challenge. They buddied us up with a partner and each partner gets 1 point for each full pound loss, a point for contacting buddy 3 times during the week and a point for a healthy tip. This goes for a total of 6 weeks. Then the combined total for me and my buddy is added up. Makes it a team effort and a way of getting to know someone better.
Still need to get my night-time snacking under control. If I plan ahead it is OK but if not I seem to pick not so good snacks.
All - have a great week.

That's a clever way to motivate the members over at TOPS. I really like that idea. I've been emailing 2 WW members daily for years now. We meet on Wednesdays and keep in touch during the week. We've become good friends and get together with a few other gals about every month for a WW style luncheon to catch up and laugh.
Tomorrow is my WI and I'm hoping it goes okay. I hope your WI works out well for you tonight. :
Turtles, have a good one! :

Hi Turtles,
Had a week where I wasn't starving. However, I did say yes to some foods I should have said no to and gained four tenths of a pound. Not the direction I want to go in, and this will be a better week.
Saying : and : to all who view here. Chime in when you can.
Gail, how is everything going with your new ideas for the month? By the way, potato chips are definitely a trigger food for me. I love chocolate and salty...…………..and I need to love them a little less. LOL.
Have a good one.

Hi turtles
Judy - Today is day 23 for me with no chips!! And that is great for me with the chips, they are my favorite snack.
I "turtled" at my meeting so have to do better with my night-time snacking - been having some popcorn or a piece of toast instead of chips, but still need for the scale to go down.
Didn't walk the last few days - it has been really cold (minus 25C which I think is -13 F) & now it has warmed up abit we are getting lots of snow. So hoping for things to settle down..
I think for February I will continue with the no chips and add in swimming once a week & see how that goes.
All - stay on track.

Hi Turtles,
Gail, that's a great uplifting message. Weigh to go. Staying off the chips and getting in a swim will knock those pounds off for sure. Turtling is a good start. Now onto the next step.
Some times when I get discouraged, I have to remember that I have lost over 40# and have been able to keep them off. Honestly, that's great. It's just not good enough, is it? So, for today on this windy very rainy day in NY I am saying no to lots of food I'd like to eat...…….mostly out of boredom.
Hey, if you like a spicy black bean soup, here's an easy recipe:
1 can drained and rinsed black beans
1/2 cup fat free salsa , amt. of spiciness your preference
1 cup chicken broth
1 tsp. cumin
Stir, use an immersion pulser on the mixture or put in blender. Then heat for about 10 minutes and enjoy! Using these ingredients, it is a WW zero point recipe.
Let me know if you try it. My dh really likes it. People who like cilantro should add that for a zippier taste. Just not my preference.
Judy

Hi Turtles,
My WI was today. I've got my home scale synced with WW's scale so I know more what I am doing. I had a not perfect week and yet I still lost eight tenths of a pound. I have lost exactly 10# since my highest weight right before Thanksgiving. I had done a lot of emotional eating for months before that. I never give up, but being back out of onederland was scary to me.
When I drop a few more pounds and am in the 180's# I will post my weight again.
Sending : and : to all of you.
Gail, how are you and your TOPS partner doing?
Judy
