Hi turtles
Welcome Kasey - Nice you are joining us - we have been quiet for abit but myself & Judy regularly chime in.

Well, I was up 1/2 # at my Tops meeting last week which was our final regular meeting for the summer, now we have weigh ins only - so nice break from programmes etc. Still it is good we still have to weigh in for accountability.

Kasey - for me, I follow a "lower carb" weigh watchers points system and don't get enough exercise at the moment. I try to walk 10,000 steps daily but sometimes don't hit that goal. I also try to do workouts with my daughter when we can fit it in.

So today is going to be a "new start" for me since I have been doing "lazy weight watchers" for awhile and scale is creeping back up. So I have my lunches planned out for this week (Caesar salad with chicken & no croutons)

All - have a great week & pop in when you can.

Gail

Hello everyone!

Gail - I was doing WW, but had to take a break for a little while to save up. Having two little ones is so expensive (daycare alone is over $1200 per month). For right now I am counting calories, but I need to check an app I used to used to see if it has the new WW program (the app is not affiliated with weight watchers, but uses the same algorithm for point calculation). Hopefully I can rejoin WW within the next few months as I really love the new program and I have a co-worker that has lost 50lbs within the last 6 months. Right now, I try to exercise at least 3 days per week. I was walking 2 miles around my neighborhood (that's the best exercise for my joints as it's low impact) but it just go too hot, so I'm doing the Country Heat dance videos.

Hi turtles - yes, little ones are expensive for sure. I have a basement apartment in my daughters house & she has 2 boys, 4 & 2 and she works part-time, so boys go to daycare Tues & Thus and I have Fridays off, so I have them on that day, and it works out very well. So not costing too much for now. Also ww adds up - I belonged to ww for several years on and off but found it was getting too expensive, so I basically still follow it on my own and go to Tops group for my weigh ins and accountability. So that is saving me lots since it is $40/year plus $3 a week and we have regular programmes, so works out good for me.

Busy weekend at the trailer with the family, so lots of swimming and walking (or chasing the boys) plus we have 2 german shepphards that need walked as well.
Food was not too bad overall but did have some drinks, so the points add up there quickly.

All - lets all be down at the scale this week.

It's been a busy week here. I was diagnosed with strep throat Tuesday, then Wednesday my 5.5 month old woke up with fever. He hasn't been eating as much as usual since Friday and we thought it was teething, but the fever worried me so off to the doctor we went. She tested him for strep and UTI and we're waiting on results. So he's been home with me the past 2 days. The good thing is I was down to 237.6 yesterday. I've lost 6.4 pounds in the past 2 weeks!

Gail - I'm glad you're having a great time with your family! My parents have a camper and we can't wait to go back again (none of us have camped since Halloween!).

Hi turtles - Judy , I hope your little one is OK soon - it is just awful when children are sick, such a worry.

Congrats on your weight loss!!! That is awesome.

Here - we are still with high temperatures, but for me, I like it - everyone else complaining. Honestly, before we know it we will be shovelling snow. So everyone should just enjoy the weather.

I was up at my meeting, so not too happy with myself. But to be expected with overeating & having junk as well.

So have to behave myself this week.

All - have a great week!

to both Kasey and Oppaloopa. Always glad to have new members. Gail and I have been doing this site forever and we keep on going through our ups and downs.
I like to read back to see where my head was at different times. Right now I am doing well again. I have to knock off the weight I have regained since December which is discouraging, but I have to say that, although it doesn't look like it, I really have done my best. Lots of sadness, emotional junk, and downturns...………………..I'm ready to go again and the last three days have been great.

The weather here is hot, but to be expected since it's July in NY! Lol. Everything is nice and green. I am working on finding new recipes and if I find a couple of winners I will post them here.

I also am using my Fitbit to step up again since my recliner and my body had developed an attachment. lol. So, Gail, thanks for keeping this site going! Oppaloopa and Kasey thanks for joining in.
I am a retired teacher of second and third graders and also taught home economics a long time ago. Now I have fun by going to local plays and swimming with my grandkids.

Take care. keep on keepin' on! Leading to a :

I'm glad everyone is doing well. My son and I are feeling much better, but now my 2 year old has a stuffy/runny nose and has been fussy on and off the past couple days. It never ends. I only have 2 weeks left before I officially start back to work, and my students start August 7th. I have so much to do before then, both for my classroom and around the house. The main thing that HAS to get done this week is my son's room. He will be 6 months this week and we haven't painted the room or put the crib together yet! I really want to move him into his room before I go back to work (the creakiness of our bed wakes him, the noises he makes in his sleep wake me lol). I need to charge my Fitbit and start wearing it again. I took it off to go swimming last week and never put it back on. I definitely notice that I move less when not wearing it.

Oppaloopa - It turns out the app I have does have the new Freestyle program (only about $17 for the year), so I'm following that now. No meetings though, so only this site to keep me accountable.

Judy - I'm glad you're enjoying retirement! It is very hot here too. I live in southern Louisiana. I can't wait for it to cool off a bit. I'd be happy to just get down to the upper 70s/low 80s at this point.

Gail - Oh how I wish we would get snow accumulation (just occasionally). I can count on one hand the amount of times we've had snow stick to the ground around here in my lifetime (31 years).

Now that the weekend is over, I've gotten back on track with my eating and luckily didn't do too much damage. I was only 2lbs over what I was Saturday morning (which was 236.8 - a new low!), so I should hopefully lose that water weight by Wednesday.

Hi everyone - glad to see everyone is doing well. I was up 1# last week at my Tops but knew that would happen, 2 dinners & 1 lunch out (oh well, it was fun)

Been working and spending time at my trailer, lots of swimming for sure. This Sunday will be in the States for 3 nights/4 days, so looking forward to that, but won't be online for awhile.
Staying at Awkasane Casino with a bus tour & there are 12 ladies going, so lots of fun for sure.

It is still really hot here, some days over 30 celius. We really need some rain - there is a fireban everywhere, so campers not too happy.

All - keep up the good work & I will chime in when I get back.

Kasey, glad to see a nice long post. Well, you have your hands full with two little ones and going back to work, but I think it is wonderful you are thinking of yourself and getting what you eat and how you move right. Good for you to do this while you are young. What color are you going to paint the room? Bet it will be adorable.

Gail, I hope you're enjoying the casino visit. We actually have one locally now and it's a temptation for sure. I think the slots are a lot of fun. Good luck with your food while you are away. Do you notice you don't get as hungry at the casino because your mind is on the games? That's what happens to me.

Oppa...…..hey, we don't all do WW's all the time so if this group helps you weigh to go!!!! A couple of years ago I went to a nutritionist (short sessions, very reasonable) while I was attending my WW meetings. it all helped. what's a challenge for you right now? let us know and also let us know about a recipe or trick you'd like to pass on.

I had a great WI this week. Well, that was because I didn't binge. So, thankfully I am below that magic number and this week has been good so far also.
I call this :

Looking forward to losing one pound this week and then onward and downward. I even put my mind to figuring out what I can/could do when I have visitors and that is a big help.

Have a great week, day, hour......and chime in when you can.

Hi Turtles,
I had a WI today and stayed the same. That's fine. I expect a good loss next week as long as I don't binge.
Hope to hear from you again. Let us know what you are thinking!

Hi turtles

I'm back & had a great trip.

Judy - yes, I don't even think about food while in the casino plus we had lots of shopping adventures, so eating overall not too bad. Have my weigh in tomorrow, so will see how I did

All - check in when you can & let us know how you are doing.

Yes, a casino is about the only activity I can do that keeps my mind away from food. that's not great. LOL

Glad Gail did well. I plan on having another good week.

Gals, newcomers, chime in when you can . Wishing you all the best. :

Morning, turtles

I was down 1# after 2 weeks of holidays, so extremely happy with that. Getting in my walks lately and tracking EVERYTHING & seems to be helping.

Extra long weekend for me (4 days off) and kids heading to cottage, so will have some quiet trailer time & doing a Sunday brunch with the ladies, so that will be fun.
Been super busy the last month with travelling and the kids, so some downtime is a good thing.

All - have a great weekend & chime in when you can.

Gail
