Smile #303 Bale of Turtles Keepin' On

We are the Turtle Group here at www.3fatchicks.com. We welcome you to join us as we work toward good health and fitness in a persistent manner. As our inspiration, we use the race between the turtle and the hare where the turtle was the victor because he didn't give up. We believe in keepin' on by using the skills and techniques we have learned from experience to keep us on track. We believe in giving each other support. Good luck.

Hi turtles

Judy - thanks for opening a new thread. Hope all is well with you.
Been struggling again with the up/down scale thing, but no surprise if I overdo it (especially the snacks)
Trailer all opened up & spent some time doing yardwork up there last weekend, but still lots of raking to be done, so planning on spending some long weekend time up there this weekend.
Kids will be at cottage so just me & a couple of my friends will be at trailer. Pools open this weekend, so looking forward to that even though that is early for up here.

All - hope you pop in when you can.

Hi Turtles,
Gail, honestly the up and down is so typical. If it were easy, we'd all be skinny.
I am on a good roll right now, so I hope to finally see a loss at the scale on WEd. I'll let you know. Have consistently gained tiny bits of weight over the last 3 months which is an awful thing to do. Lots of emotion and tough stuff, but hope this new roll I'm on stays rolling!!!! :

Turtles, chime in, say hello. We don't care if you have gained weight. Newbies...………..we'd be so happy to have you join us.

Hi turtles

Judy - so happy to hear you have turned things around, good for you! Keep it "rolling"

Extra long weekend just passed and back to work today (along with my planned out meals) I still journalled over weekend but in a more lazy way & my home scale is up again!
Have my weigh in tonight, but not looking forward to that.

All - if you are lurking, please chime in and lets us know how you are doing.

Judy - keep up the good work!

Okay, after almost three months I turned the scale around. I have been trying so hard, but life keeps getting in the way and I had a weekly gain...…...Today I lost a bit over 3# and am thrilled. I am truly down 40# and want to lose 10# over the summer. Since so much of this is recent gain, I think I can do that.
Best to all.
in a hurry.

Hi turtles

Judy - that is great! Keep up the good work.

Keeping busy and the weather has been great lately. Spent some trailer time lately and trying to stay on track, get in some walks/swims & stay focussed.

All - have a great week!

Hi Turtles,
Exercise and eating well...…..that's what we need to do. Glad things are working out well for you Gail. I remember you set a realistic goal for yourself for this year. I have a goal too and am working toward it. I am giving myself an indulgence day once a week. Most of my WW friends do that and it works for them. Today I cooked chicken medallions in crushed tomatoes with fresh mushrooms and I was pleased with the results. the chicken stayed more tender than it does when I grill it. All good.

Hi to the turtles, g Here's to a good WI and :

Thinking of all the Turtles that have joined in over the years and wishing them all well. Any newcomers, come on it. Any Turtles, Gail and I would love to hear from you. Food is good. This journey is something else!! lol. Never thought I'd still be trying to lose weight after all this time. Well, losing 40# is a good accomplishment and I will keep on and lose a bit more. Take care. Be well and happy.

Hi turtles

Ditto what Judy said re: past turtles - love to hear from you all.

This past weekend was my Tops PRD (convention) and that is always motivating to see how well others have done. So, hopefully it will kick my butt to staying on track, exercising and being accountable. We have Tops meetings for the next 2 weeks, then over the summer it is weigh-in only, which makes it tempting to skip it but I will try to go unless I away at my trailer.
Not making the drive just for the weigh in, but most weeks I should still be there.

We have elections at my Tops chapter and my friend (from my old chapter) will be running as leader, so hoping she gets in. As they say "Change is Good"

All - have a great week.

Hi Turtles,
Am on track and doing well. Very easy to slip up and forget what I want most.
Gail, you sound good and : will be your reward. I love hearing you enjoying the summer weekends at your trailer. Keep up the good work and as we say, One day at a time, One pound at a time. We are doing this!!

Hi turtles

Judy - Glad you are back on track, keep it going!

So my friend did get in as our new leader, which will start after Labour Day in September. Next week, we have our final group get together potluck dinner for our Tops group, then over the summer it is weigh in only & our meetings start up again in September. So will be a nice break from the meeting part, but the weigh ins are still very important.

Having dinner out tonight with some ladies I haven't seen in awhile and it is Chinese which is always a challenge, last time I just ordered chicken chow mein & that was it. Still high calorie though.

Been getting in lots of walks & will be back up to trailer this weekend for a few days & the grandkids will be there, so lots of exercise for sure. They don't stop moving until they fall asleep, so keeps us on our toes - but lots of fun.

All - hope you are losing weight & feeling great!

Hi Turtles,
Hi Gail and glad you've got good plans for the summer.
This weekend my dh and I will see the huge fireworks display in the next county pre-fourth of July. then we'll go to a family BBQ for the fourth. Then my son and kids will come to visit for a long weekend. Lots of plans and good things to do.
Food is always a challenge for me and I keep on working it to get some good results. Lots of emotional junk to work thru, but I am still hopeful.

Best wishes and : to all. Chime in if you're reading.

Hi Judy - Nice you have lots of plans with family.

We are heading to cottage for some of the upcoming long weekend, but I will head back on Sunday and weather permitting, go to my trailer for a couple of days.
Weather is suppose to be getting hotter each day, so looking forward to that.

In July I will be away for 3 nights/4 days with some ladies to New York State, having a bus tour and staying at casino (Ashweyn etc. something like that) Anyway, it will be fun - there are 12 of us going.
It is a Sun to Wed thing and on the Sunday night there is bingo, so will have to give that a go. Lots of time for the slots on the other days & of course, abit of shopping is in the mix.

I am still up/down at the scales but at least still having some losses instead of all gains. Some people say easier to lose weight in summer, but I find I always have lots of bbq and dinners out which add up.

Anyway, take care & have a great long weekend.

Hi ladies! I'd like to join the group if you don't mind. I'm 31, a 4th grade teacher, and mother to two little ones - 2 year old daughter and 5 month old son. I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight from my last pregnancy (thank goodness). I'm at my highest non-pregnancy weight ever, and I'm determined to get rid of it once and for all! I just started adding exercise back in, which has been difficult due to arthritis, thyroid issues, and joint hypermobility (causes instability in my knees, hips, ankles, and fingers). I'm hoping to build up healthy habits before school starts back up in August.
