TGIT! Thank God it's Thursday!

  • I am so glad that the wknd is almost here. My cold is getting the best of me and I DO NOT want to be here today! On that happy note I thought I would start the thread!
  • So how is everyone doing with their Labor day goals? I had a good day yesterday. The layered taco casserole was good and DH loved it. It was fun b/c I told him, AFTER of course, that it was actually made with turkey and that the sour cream was low fat etc. He even wanted left overs for lunch. SUCCESS! He thinks he can always tell when it is not the "REAL" stuff! I also made a Jello Pudding pie, chocolate of course and that was yummy.

    Jess~ Thanks for the Sour Cream advice although I read the suggestion this morning I am going to heat it for lunch and just see what happens. I will post the recipe link after this post!

    Oh Btw don't ever Eat Low Carb Pasta I am soo unbelievably sick from it the texture is GROSS and I'd rather wait and have a meal with Real Pasta
    Altho When I had a bowtie the other night it tasted like glue go fig
    Becky that taco pie recipe looks goood I think i'll put it on my grocery list and try it without the shells!

  • Morning Ladies.

    My rear is dragging today. Not sure if it is the weather (rainy and gray) or the lack of sleep from vacation catching up with me.

    Impressed myself by eating only 24 points yesterday. Thought with getting back on track from vacation that it would take more to prevent massive hunger pains. Did Firm Super Cardio Blaster, Firm 5 Day Abs, and the UBWO from Firm Body Sculpt this morning. Have to work tonight so no plans. Thanks to all of you who sent me appetizer ideas/recipes. I really appreciate it. My Girl's night is next Wed. and I'll let you all know how it goes.

    Becky - I often feed CB foods he claims not to like. As long as he doesn't know what he is eating he'll eat it. Glad your DH liked the recipe. I'm going to go check it out.

  • well i didn't make it to WW last night because a pretty bad storm rolled in around 5:00 and i could barely see driving home. i wasn't about to venture out in it again. i am going to a meeting friday instead so i will just have to wait (and keep being super GOOD).

    kierie-yah low carb pasta is real bad! yuk! lol
  • Kieri and Laura, sounds like we are all feeling the same today! How exciting I'm reallly bored mainly b/c I am putting off paperwork. I guess if I actually started it I wouldn't be quite as bored. Hmmm what a novel idea. It is pretty gray here today also. I wish it would just go ahead and rain if it is going to be like this. This evening I have no plans! I plan to take cold medicine that will make me feel unconcious and go to bed. The sad thing is I am looking forward to that. Well I am just rambling so I will check back later! Feel better ladies!

    I am super hungry today, just finished an unplanned snack of a can of green beans (I eat them cold right out of the can, is that wierd?). I went over again yesterday, although not by much again....but I just really wanted to eat a boca burger after having my dinner of bagged salad and tomato. I guess it could have been a lot worse! Of course if I hadn't had to figure in 4 beers I could have eaten a lot more. Oh well, I'll be in the same boat for the next 2 days with the drinking thing, although I'm sure I am still eating way less than this time last week.

    Becky, I think I may try that taco casserole also, thanks for the recipe link!

    Laura, you are exercise queen, I don't know how you find the time and motivation to do it all! Those FRIM tapes are not easy.

    Amber, those storms were crazy last night! Needless to say I did not ref my games, and it's not looking too good that we'll get to play tonight =(

    Ahhhh.....I am SO glad it is Thursday! But I'm looking for some advice from you all. This weekend I'm going to visit my BF and I've just gotten back onto WW. I'm worried because I really want to stay on track and continue to lose. Any suggestions on ways to stay motivated? He knows I'm doing WW but last night on the phone he asked me what "treats" I wanted him to buy for the weekend! HAHA! We'll also probably end up eating out a lot, which is always difficult for me.

    Anyway...this is such a nice little community you gals have and I'm glad I found you!

    I saw that many of you made Labor Day goals. Mine is 182! That is 10 down from what I weighed yesterday.

    I'm freaking out today because I didn't eat so well last night. I'm even going to go to the gym at lunch because I weigh-in tonight and I want to work off as many calories from last night as I can! DH and I drove down to the beach last night with the idea of going to a seafood restaurant. I figured I could get something grilled or broiled and I'd be OK. Well, we got out there late, a lot of stuff was closing and we ended up going into a seafood buffet place. I thought, OK, I can do this. I started with a cup of clam chowder, and because it wasn't that good, I didn't eat it all. I intended to just have steamed crab legs, but I ended up grabbing some fried clams and shrimp, too, although I didn't go too nuts. I did eat quite a few crab legs, though, with butter, of course. I had a salad for lunch so I probably didn't go as far over as I thought, but it was just strange at how terrified I felt after eating. I guess I just want to lose this weight so badly! I want to have a loss tonight!

  • Kim...i totally know how you feel about being so scared and angry after you do something you wish you hadn't. but look at it this way..it was a VERY MINOR setback and you have gotten yourself right back on track today! we have to remember that this is a lifestyle change, it is not a temporary thing. so at times life will throw little snage into our plans..thats just how it goes. as far as your WI tonight, i hope it goes well for you but make sure you look at the big picture if it doen't go as well as you want. you ARE getting fitter and healtier every day!

    I really should be getting to work, but figured I post real quick. Just had a boring lunch of bagged salad and tomato, but gotta save those calories for alcohol tonight! I am hooked on Minute Maid light lemonade. They sell it in 12 packs of cans at the grocery store near work, and I highly recommend it. I bought a case for work figuring that might help with all the food cravings.

    Emily, you could try looking at dwlz.com if you think you might be going to any chain restaurants. Dotti's site has tons of point info for different places. Other than that, you can do the salad and grilled chicken thing.

    Kim, I'm the same way - it's not really about what or how much I fell of the wagon, but I ususally take the slip and run with it for a looong time. Try not to even think of it as a slip at all!

    Amber, good luck at weigh in tonight. I weigh myself tomorrow morning, although it will only be after 4 days back in the saddle, if anything, it will be water weight. Guess that counts too!

  • Guess what girls ... prepare to be stunned ... I went to the gym on my lunch break! I don't think I've ever done that before. I did the elliptical machine for 25 minutes then went to the supermarket to get some sushi. (Harris Teeter makes great fresh sushi!)

    I'm very proud of myself.
