Angry Freaky Friday, March 7th, 2003

I have not posted for days. Why? One, because I've been busy-and two because I gained 4 lbs at WI last Wednesday. I'm ashamed to show my face. I could have died when my leader told me that!!! I'm glad I didn't skip it though-I wanted to sooo bad. But it has made me so mad at myself that I am determined to get back on track. I will check in and out today and post some hellos from the last few days if I have time. I'm trying to do a marathom cleaning session on my house beacuse this is my 24 hour work weekend. Talk to you later. I posted a joke separately (Martha Stewart VS Real Women) , it's pretty funny if you get a chance to read it. I have new pictures too.

Howdy all,

They still haven't sent me my network card grrr. This is annoying to say the least. Anyhoo, I have been bad, going out to dinner with my sweetie all the time, it's costing us $$$ but he says he'll make me dinner tomorrow night

I am owed money (by my roomate) and I am scared it's going to turn into a HUGE mess.

But regardless, my sweetie is great, we went for lunch yesterday and it was good (my treat). It's weird being in a BF situation again, but it feels good.

Robin: going to weigh in regardless was a good thing, stay positive

Take care!

Ali

Hi girls!

I have been lurking when I have time…

Robin – I know how you feel, but don’t be ashamed! We are all in the same boat as you are and we have been there too, so don’t ever feel bad. Those are the times when you need the board the most.

Ali – I guess I have been out of the loop too long. Is this the guy you took to Blue Rodeo on V-day?? Good for you! How is school/work going? I am still coming to Ottawa/Montreal this summer….my b/f wants to meet you too – hope that’s OK.

Well, I have been asked to speak at my university as a communications success story. I thought that was neat. 27 and a success story! Who’d a thunk it?

WW –wise has been good. I have been OP but not exercising much this week as its been too cold to walk to work and I have been too busy at work to take a lunch break to get to the gym…after work I am unpacking, so I have been bad – but its paying off anyway, just being OP. I’ll get back in the workout swing next week when I am settled into my new condo.

Has anyone come up with ways to get rid of stretch marks yet?? Mine are all old ones, faded and sort of silver, but as I get thinner I wish they were GONE. I used to not care (50lbs ago) but I care now!! Suggestions?? Tips??

Well, BBL have a good OP morning!!

OH – I am going for a Thai buffet at lunch for my birthday (belated department thing). I hope that is OK!! GAH!!!

Belle: I was actually going to ask you about that! Yeah, that would be loads of fun! I don't mind meeting your boyfriend at all! Yup it's the guy from Vday It's going well (knock on wood) Don't worry, I have had severe issues with internet access as of late so I haven't been around much! You take care and we'll keep in touch. That is so cool about getting to speak at your old uni! Must build the confidence.

Anyhoo, have a good day (it's my march break and I am not working today so I am at my parents' house in Montreal)

Hey girls,

I've been counting points & journalling for two days now. Today is day three & i'm going to the Great Canadian Bagel for lunch so I should be ok pointwsie. The first day I banked points. Yesterday i blew it by having Burger King for supper & then late in the evening dessert from Dairy Queen. I still counted it & wrote it down though I am going to ask my friend at lunch if she'll join meetings with me. Keep your fingers crossed!

Belle, considering what an upheaval you've just had you are doing great OPwise! If it was me I would have blown it for sure. You'll make up for the exercise in due time.

Ali, glad to hear things are going great with your BF! Enjoy it!

Robin, thanks for fessin up. You can turn those 4lbs into air in no time. Maybe too part of it was water or the clothes you were wearing.

KT, I know the Old Dutch has a baked brand of tostios but I find that my grocery store sometimes has them & sometimes doesn't. Take your points slider with you to the store & get the healthiest chips. There are some white ones that aren't too many points.

Hi to everyone else. I'll try to pop in later. I have today off which is nice except that I have to work the weekend. Anyway bbl.

Hi everyone - I had my junk food night last night. It didn't turn out too bad. Of course, my mouth was frozen from the dental work I had done in the afternoon so I couldn't chew and that helped. Hey, whatever works. I brought chicken strips (baked not fried so I had something good to eat) but the veggie guy forgot the veggies - or didn't get enough time to pick them up so that idea got shot all to ****. Next week I'm bringing my own veggies. And this weekend I'll be working out quite a bit.
Robin - I liked the martha thing (although it reminded me that I have 2 bottles of left over wine that I haven't done anything with)
Ali - Hope your network gets up and running soon. Sounds like things are good with your sweetie.
Belle - I have the ugly old silver stretch marks too, haven't found a way to get rid of them get. There's a lot of really expensive creams but apparently they work to PREVENT marks not to get rid of them after the fact (that sucks!) so if anyone finds something - tell me too!
Rina - Keep counting, that's important. Thanks for the tip about the tortilla chips, I'll check it out this weekend.
Back to it. I hope I haven't cursed the thread again today. Come and play.
KT

Hello everyone!

So I had forgotten that I had given myself a goal in January to be at 140 lbs by May 15th. I remembered this last night, so I am back on track today and re-committed to the program. I can start exercising tomorrow, so I am going to go to the gym before I go babysitting...no excuses now! I want to look good in a bathing suit!

So far today, so good. It really is even more than one day at a time with the ED. Usually I try to get through the morning (until lunch). The I have to try to get from 2pm-6pm (thats the worst time of day for me). We eat dinner a little after 6, and then the rest of the night I'm fine. Its weird becuase it really is certain times of the day when I get cravings. I realized this the other day and today brought snacks with me to much on this afternoon while babysitting (they don't have healthy foods in their house at all).

Also, remember I told you guys about their cat and how they never let it in the house? We have been having snow storms, and they still don't let the cat in. So I get my last paycheck next Tuesday. Sometime at the end of next week I am going to go and take their cat and bring it to a no-kill shelter someone told me about. I can't wait because this cat really needs some TLC (I tried to find someone on my own to adopt her, but couldn't find anyone).

Ali - Glad you are having so much fun with BF. Sounds like you are still in that honeymoon phase!

KT - wow that sucks about the veggies. I would have been really upset! But at least you got through it. I was thinking about it and there are other things you can get that are really low-point stuff too that would be considered "junk-food". There's the Skinny Chips, No-Pudge Brownies, and Guiltless Gourmet Baked Tortilla Chips. I don't know if the supermarkets up there carry those, tho. There's also the WW Key Lime pie. That is REALLY REALLY good. I like substituting the key-lime flavor stuff with Strawberry-flavored stuff. Yuuuuummmmm!

Robin - Hey, you did more than me. You actually went to WI! I haven't been in 2-3 weeks but I'm gonna go this Saturday (was going to go last night but we got 8" of snow, and I don't even think they were open).

Belle - great to see you back! Thai food is yummy, I hope you have a good time going out for lunch!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hiya!

Ijust got back from a late lunch with my pal. I did not too bad. I had a half bagel with a slice of ham some pineapple & melted cheese & a hlaf bowl of broccoli soup. I figure if I put about 10 points I should be well covered. Anyway she is going to join meetings with me if her Grandpa will help her pay for them (long weird story). Anyway sounds like its a go. We are hoping to go to our first meeting on the 17th. I'm excited. Just the propoect of it is keeping me more conscious of the food I'm ptting in my mouth.

KT glad to hear you had a fun night. If we had frozen dental mouth all the time none of us would be overweight for sure! Did you see Survivor last night? Those girls are pathetic & then the vote off their hardest worker!

Lori, Glad to hear that you found some motivation & you're figuring out how your mind/stomach works throughout the day. You're brave about the cat thing. I would be too scared that they would find out it was me. My Grandma doesn't let her cats in either but my Grandpa built them this really cute house that's heated & has a heater under the floor. They love it in there! btw is the recipe for the key lime pie in our recipe thread? Sounds yummy!

Hey did anyone see Jaret the SubWay guy on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night? It was pretty interesting. I guess he is going to be a motivational speaker now. That would be cool. They had someone dress up as a blob of fat that was supposed to be what he lost. It looked so gross. I need something like that around here to keep me motivated!!

Anyway dh & I are off to a trade show for sports & leisure stuff. Should be interesting. Plus they always have good draws so maybe we'll win something cool! Talk to you later!

So I wasn't going to post today, but I realized that accountability is such a major part of WW success so I am here to be held accountable for my successes and failures.

Yesterday started out so well......dinner was even going well.....and then came that darned hot out of the oven Ghiradelli Double chocolate brownie with Dreyers vanilla ice cream, REAL whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Do you think that is was more than 12-points? LOL

So today I started my day with a tuna sandwich on the low fat Orowheat bread (3 points for the sandwich). For lunch I'm having a HUGE salad and a small slice of pizza. Dinner will also be another huge salad and my 3-point grilled cheese sandwhich.

Wish me luck over the weekend, that is always the hardest for me.

And now on to responses:

Robin: Good for you for still weighing in. As much as a shock it was, it was still good for you to hear.

Ali: Money issues always suck. I hope you arrive home tonight to find an evelope full of money from your roommate.

Belle: Congratulations on being asked to speak. What a compliment!!

Rina: Burger King....YUMMY!!! I have stayed VERY far away from there because I love their hot fudge cake.

KT: Ouch on the dental work. I loathe the dentist.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

I heard a great motto that I keep repeating to myself now: "Nothing Tastes As Good As Being Thin Feels" . But darn was the brownie sundae mighty tasty last night!!!

Hi-well I didn't get my house cleaned. I've been friggin' around on the computer all day. I made a cute little web page for my son's basketball team though.I need to remove it (the computer) from this house on my day off so I will stay away from it. I have, however, stayed OP. On to some hellos...

Ali-Hello. I hope you get your $$$ from your room-mate. It sucks when things like that happen.
Belle-Congratulations on becoming a success. I hope somenoe says something like that about me someday (maybe after I make lifetime).
Rina-I would like to think it was water or my clothes but I'm almost positive it was beer & pizza. Good for you on keeping track of your points & journaling. Sounds like you had a good lunch-I'm glad you got your friend to consider ww. The more-the merrier.
KT-Who's the veggie guy? Do you go to a Junk Food Night group meeting?
Lori-Only 11 lbs to go-YOU CAN DO IT? That is so mean that those people won't let their cat in. I hope it finds a good home. What does ED mean? All I can think is Emergency Dept.
Wendy-Me and my niece made 3 dozen Chocolate Chip Cookies last Monday and I ate nearly a dozen (they weren't that big....really...lol). I have got to stop making that crap.

Gotta Run...

I just have to say real quick, Lori I thought ED meant Explosive Diarhea at first! I was like, oh, poor girl. Then I realized you must mean eating disorder, right?

HEe heee...I hope you don't get MY version of ED!!!

Belle - I have tears streaming down my face!! that was the funniest misunderstanding ever!
Wendy - I play Dungeons and Dragons on Thursday nights and we all chip in food and have a little snack buffet. The D&D is fun and lets me act out and appeals to the performer part of myself but most of the food does not appeal to the WW me at all. One of the guys always brings veggies hence, veggie guy.
Rina - I tape Survivor and watch it after D&D - those girls will probably not win another challenge without Joanna but I don't think they'll miss the constant singing. Can't wait for next week to see what happens.
Wendy - there are probably still some low fat chocolate cake recipies on the recipie thread, combine that with a 1/4 cup vanilla frozen yogurt and a drizzle of no fat chocolate syrup and you have a delicious, low in points, dessert. Although yours sounds great too. Way to go with the rest of your day though and good luck for the weekend.
Gotta go do some filing - papercuts here I come!

Wendy, how do you make a grilled cheese for 3 points? Share your secret

KT, didn't you just love when those Survivor guys were singing that song from Top Gun? That was awesome!!

Belle, that is way too funny! So far nothing that ED could stand for sounds good.

Robin, I used to be addicted to time on the computer too so I got a really uncomfortable chair to use so now I don't hardly spend any time on it compared to what I used to.

3 point grilled cheese sandwich

I use the Orowheat Light Whole Wheat bread (1 point for 2 slices)
I use a slice of ages swiss cheese (2 points for 1 slice)

Put it in the toaster over and toast away!!!

That easy!!!!
