Cherry, real fast: WW's is reducing the number of points plus available starting in Dec. As I figured, 29 points plus was too many for most people to lose. Try dropping down to 26 points plus and see if that shakes up your weight.
That's the scuttlebutt I've heard. I couldn't lose weight until I dropped to 20-25points plus daily. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Just count as carefully as you can, concentrate more on veggies than fruit, drink plenty of water, eat lean protein instead of fatty protein, avoid carbs as much as you can and keep on keepin' on. Stay encouraged. You've done very well so far and you'll kick off those gained pounds and start losing weight again. You've had a really nice weight loss and your body may just want to stabilize before you lose more. It's such a complicated process and we are in the dark ages as far as I am concerned. Scientific info. seems to change often, but we usually know what works for our own bodies. Good luck. I hope I don't sound like I'm on a soap box, but it riles me when WWs says you can eat anything you want when that's not the case with me. Maybe others have a different point of view. Best to everyone. I'm glad you're not giving up, Cherry. Judy 234.6/183.6/179 and thinner  |
Morning turtles:
Nice day up here & planing on getting more yard work done. My cousin is coming this a.m. to do my eaves again and we are all going out for a late breakfast. Cherry - as Judy said maybe have less carbs & fruits and more veggies. I don't lose if I overdo the carbs even staying within my limits. That is just how I am designed I guess. So just do what works for you. Hope everyone has a great Sunday! |
Happy Monday Turtles!
Interesting Judy about the WW points, I was just beginning to think it wasn't for me. But they are lowering the points? You really have to figure out an individual plan what works for you. Makes sense, and Bandit you are right too, they say you can eat anything within your points but you really have to watch the sugars/carbs. I always get to a 10 lb loss then stall out. But I am sure if I kept track of the carbs and upped the veggies I would be more successful. Cherry you keep at it ! You are winnning this battle! Everyone have a great week move more eat less!!! We are doing this! Terri |
good morning everyone - just a quick hello to you all and I sure hope to get back online later for a better post, things are just crazy busy here and the stress is getting kind of high for me, will try and do the best that I can though!
Have a great day all! |
Hi to Everyone!!!
We're all focusing on how we lose best. I love carbs and used to start my day with a piece of toast. Now that bread is 3points plus, I don't do that anymore. I also am comparing the two programs, WW and JC. Interesting that when I point plus out the day's food with JC, I end up with 26 points plus. That makes sense. it allows a small weight loss each week and it's a plan I can stick with. I see how very busy we all are. I'm glad to be part of this group. Yep, Terri, I think ignore WW's claim that you can have pizza or anything you want in moderation. That may very well work for 20-somethings who don't have family responsibilities and who can work out a lot. All I know is tht I do have to treat this weight loss like a diet. Change of lifestyle, yes. But I am hungry sometimes and I need carrots and celery then, not a small piece of pizza. Oh, okay. enough of this. It'll be interesting to see what WW has in store in a couple of weeks. Best to all of us, Judy 234.6/183.6/179 and thinner  |
Hi everyone this will be quick as I have DH settled after his teeth surgery today so I have a few moments.. today is my online weigh in day and I was down 2.8 pounds.. happy dance.. happy dance.. I've heard the plan about the cutting down pts but the pts plus seems to work for me.. we aren't created equal and all our bodies work differently so some things will work for some while for others it won't.. last time I tried ww flex program I couldn't get past 10 pounds in 12 weeks.. I'm now at a loss of over 17 so who knows... anyway still working hard at it.. yesterday I was so mad I completed my c25k program and realized in the end I had repeated week 1 day 3 --- so determined was I (plus totally ticked off ) to begin the second week that I just went ahead and did it too.. maybe that's why the scale moved so much .. who knows... anyway glad to see that everyone is still focusing on making the best decisions they can for themselves and wishing everyone a wonderful day...

well ladies I finished my 1/2 marathon!! 13.1 miles in 2 hrs and 45 minutes, that's about a 13 min mile :) I was happy with my time. My goal was to be under 3 hrs, and my chip time was 2.50, my watch said 2.47...either way, I'll take it!! Super excited that I did it, and an amazing experience! Taylor, you'll be there before you know it!

Good morning everyone! Still busy here with my mom visiting and to be honest it is taking a lot out of me but it is still an enjoyable visit. Food has not been great and I have not gotten in any exercise yet this week so I really need to get going with something.
Taylor and Lots: A huge congrats to both of you on your running, that is just so fantastic! Judy: How is your plans for the holiday coming along? Thanks for the update on the WW change, I may have to rejoin again after the holidays since the calorie counting is not really getting me as far as I had hoped either. Bandit: How are you doing? Did you get your yard work done? Terri: You sound like you are super busy too, hope you are doing well! Life: how are you doing? Are you cooking for the holidays? Cherry: How are things with you and the family? Jeanne: What have you been up to lately? I have a long and busy day ahead of me so I need to get moving, have a great day all! |
Hi Turtles,
Princess, it's hard to pull everything together when our routines change. I'm glad you're enjoying your Mom's stay with you. These are all precious moments. I'm doing okay. I ate a little off program yesterday (and I mean a little). My weight is up 2#. Now, I hope that's just body fluids, etc. etc. I'm exercising and my food is good. I'd love a scale reward. Tomorrow is WI, so I'll see how it goes. Today I start cooking for Thanksgiving. I've got it sectioned out with most of the food prep tomorrow. My son and his family are coming in late Wed. night and will stay through Sunday. I know there's some babysitting for me (yay) on Friday while they all go out shopping for bargains. I like staying home and avoiding crowds. I've got a baked ziti in my freezer in case that seems like a good idea for Friday or Sat. I'm trying to be flexible. Lol. Congrats to everyone. We're all keepin' on the best we can. things are going to get hectic, so I'd like to wish all the USA buddies a Happy Thanksgiving and the Canadian buddies a lovely weekend. Best to everyone!! Morning turtles:
Taylor & Lots - you guys are amazing! Nice work! Judy - Sounds like you are busy with holiday prep, enjoy it! Princess - nice you are spending time with your mom and yes, it is tiring but nice you are able to do it. I sometimes find with calorie counting that I don't make the best food choices, but still count it but some foods just set me off on a path of bad food choices & lots of damage gets done before I get back on track. Am thinking also that I might need something new to shake things up. I got my rakind done & all the painting is done as well. Now I need new kitchen window coverings & will probably get new blinds for there as well. Just have to decide on colour & then that will be it til after Christmas. Have dinner out at Japanese place tonight with some gfs so looking forward to that. Eating was overdone on the weekend, so have to be more careful. Lots of invites coming in for get togethers, which is always a challenge. All - hope everyone is doing great! |
Hi everyone just dropping back in. I am just feeling so so about things. Just not at a good point. Stress is no joke.
Princess no I am not my family is cooking. I signed up to work Wed night third shift so I could avoid the kitchen. I may even get holiday pay so that would be great. Hope everyone has a goodnight. |
