What's the scoop on Chik-Fil-A?

After reading all the posts, I am very excited to chat with everyone!
Looking at all the signatures, everyone looks very successful at their weight loss attempts. Any words of encouragement? Something especially beyond "you can do it"

Kirsty: I was living in Valencia, Spain for six weeks, and would travel on the weekends to London, Barcelona, Madrid. I loved London! At that point I was also excited to speak english again!
Then for a final week I visited Amsterdam, Paris, and Brussels. They were all gorgeous, and one of the best weeks of my life. And now I'm paying part of a price.

Lisa: I am actually up at FSU.. UF the rivals! I'm finishing up my final year as an undergrad. Surprising how fast time flies! And a sailor? Fabulous.. I tend to find the Military men also, nothing wrong with that! But they do always seem to be only temporary. Unless it lasts for the two years they may be gone. :( I am dealing with that with someone in Germany
Also, thanks for the encouragement. I know getting over the initial hump is one of the hardest parts.

For everyone else, I am keeping up on the readings, and it's great to get to know you!

Okay, the IceDream cone from Chik-Fil-A... supposedly 2 points? I got one today and it was huge. Embarrassingly I ate teh entire thing, but nothing that good and big should be only two points. Do anyone know the truth?

Also, I'm out of food, and i'm waiting for some $$ before I can go to the store, so I"m on fast food for today. I also had a grilled chicken ceasar salad from McDonalds. (No dressing.. got some at home) but after a bitter "miscommunication" with the lady at the drive through, apparently they dont' have th Chef Salad anymore. And it was my favorite!

i'm in that stage today of all dressed up and no where to go. Still on the job hunt, but it seems like I'm surrounded by a huge wall.
Off to keep hunting! Thanks for the advice.

Kim - 7 pounds is awesome since June 1st... really awesome... I can't wait to see how beautiful you look on your wedding day.

Lucy - words of encouragement.... stick with it. And no excuses... I used to use going out with friends was a "special occasion." No it's not... you're always going out with friends. Going out to dinner... again, not a special occasion. You will always have weddings, birthdays, parties... eat a little bit of what you want... then drink water. Exercise....and get some weight lifting in there. Trust me... while it's only the 3rd time I've done weight watchers, I did Jenny Craig 3 times and HMR once.... so it's my 7th attempt at losing weight.. I KNOW that if I can so this anyone can. If things can click for me... things can click for anyone. Just don't give up... even if you have a really bad week.... just keep doing it. A boy in Germany, huh? That sucks. I doubt my boy and I will keep in touch at all... I'm sure he meets girl in every port... but he was so beautiful... I still can't believe he was interested in me... and then I was thinking it was just because he wanted to hook up... but even after I wouldn't sleep with him he still had me for dinner last night... it was the best thing ever!

Lori - sounds like you had a blast.... I LOVE Newport. Love it. What did you guys do there... I've always said if Mississippi fell off the earth and I couldn't get married there, I'd get married in Newport.

Winter - don't sweat it... I bet it will come off wicked fast... I'm sure some of it';s water too...

HEY KT!!!! Good to hear from you.

Totally don't feel like working...

And why should I feel like working? Everyone else in this cubicle village is standing around BS-ing. Apparently that's what they're getting paid to do. Man, I sound like an uptight b**ch, but it wouldn't be so bad, except that it's what they've done all day. Literally, they've been standing around in the cube next to mine since about 8 this morning. And they may think they're not bothering me, but they are. With them talking I can't concentrate on my work and trying to work with them talking gives me a headache. And to make things worse, nobody has said one word to me, not even a hello when I came in this morning and I didn't do anything. :?:

Changing the subject (and brightening my mood), I think I'm going to get to see BF tonight, yippee! Hopefully my Pilates for Dummies tape is waiting for me at home. (crossing fingers). I don't feel like going to the gym, but definitely think that Pilates would be perfect for my mood. And, it's WAY too hot to walk tonight--into the 100's today, tonight will probably be just as warm.

Lucy--Let me think of some words of motivation for you. The thing that has worked for me is just knowing that it's time to lose this weight. Everything has finally fallen together and it's just the right time this time. I think the biggest thing (and you hear this from people, but it doesn't really click until you do it) is making it a lifestyle change, NOT a diet. The thing that's so enduring about WW and success with it is that it's not one of those diets where you eat only one thing and lose the weight (like a pizza diet)--those aren't practical for real life--what if you're at a chinese restraunt? And after you lose the weight, are you going to eat pizza for the rest of your life? WW teaches you how to eat, it helps with portion control and it doesn't eliminate ANY food from your menu. And I have to share this with you--when I first started WW, I read the book Thin for Life. If I were a dietician, I'd REQUIRE my clients to read it, it's that good for someone trying to lose/maintain weight. It's just an AWESOME book.

OK, I wasn't done posting yet, but I guess my fingers thought it was time to post that. :o

Lucy--Finishing what I was saying, definitely read "Thin for Life". It's a wonderful, wonderful book. And don't stop coming here for support! This group has been the only people I can tell things to who really understands. Plus, there are enough people that you can get a lot of different ideas and advice. I'm in the same boat with having no food. I don't get paid until Friday and I'm trying to put off a big shopping trip until then, but the pickins are getting pretty slim. ;)

Winter--I bet that weight will come off even easier than it was put on. When I gain, I just tell myself that it's not that big of a deal because my body and that fat aren't that good of friends yet. :D

Lori--Hi! It sounds like you had a nice "small" cookout and a good weekend. What sort of book club are we talking about? I'd like to belong to one, but there aren't any in my teeny town, I don't think.

KT--Way to make a goal to recommit, we all know you can do it!

Kim--Your Saturday sounds like the perfect way to spend a summer day! I'm jealous! Isn't it nice to have your boss on vacation? Mine is at "Leadership Academy" (basically daycamp for overpaid grown-ups) for the entire month of July. That'll be kind of nice. Part of the reason that I've been doing Pilates is to improve my posture. I have terrible posture (because of my too-big boobs) and really would like to improve it. Prior to losing weight,I didn't care about my posture, but not that I've lost weight, I want to look as good as I possibly can.

Lisa--You're probably posting right now, since we've posted at the same time everytime we've posted today. I just have to tell you again how very much I love your single stories! I love my BF, but sometimes it gets boring and if I can live vicariously through a single friend, it makes my relationship a little more satisfying. I dunno why. :p

OK, maybe I'll go back to working, since the chat convention in the cube next door broke up and I can actually concentrate. I'll check in again later!

One more thing--for Lucy about the Chick-Fil-A, check this page, maybe it'll help answer your question.

I've never been to one (there aren't any around here), but this may help.

The in-laws are gone!!! I felt so much stress just walk out the door as they did! I will post a longer one tomorrow, but I just had to celebrate their gone-ness. And since I am their personal maid while they visit, I guess I better get to work and clean up the incredible mess they left! (They have a housekeeper at home, and it doesn't occur to them to pick dirty dishes up off the table when they have finished eating, or pick towels up off of bedroom and bathroom floors. My personal favorite, though, is vacuuming up my MIL's eyeshadow where it crushed into the carpet and probably stained it )

Hey everyone-
Haven't posted in a few days---got a little derailed over 4th of July and have been lurking. But, I am making up for it now:) Just got back from a 45 minute walk with the dog. She pulls hard, so it's a pretty brisk walk! And the eating seems to be back on track! I'm with all of you recommitting myself!

Lucy- Welcome to the group! Nice to see someone else in college around:) I sometimes feel like the baby of the group! So my advice on eating healthy with the bizarre student schedule is FRUIT! Apples are my personal favorites. Just any kind that you can grab on your way out the door. That and stir-fried veggies are my staples.

Lisa- Sailors-yum! I lived in DC last year and it was great fun going to the clubs to scope out all the military hotties:s:

Jess- Hope your Pilates has arrived! And that your coworkers get more bearable. As I recall, this is not the first time they've gotten to you. Is there any way of politely getting them to shut up?
And I am going to have to check out "Thin for Life", I have heard so many good things about it!

Kim- don't get discouraged if you aren't losing as fast as you want to. 7 lbs in a month is AWESOME. Hang in there and you will look seriously gorgeous for your wedding. And remember, if you keep up the weightlifting, you will be smaller, even if you weigh the same. Muscle is heavier than fat!

Have to get offline now, hi to everyone I missed!

A great Dinner!

Okay, so I'm feeling a little nervous about the WI tomorrow. Have you ever eaten dinner, and then you almost feel as if you're still as hungry as you were before? Well, I don't think it's really that feeling, but I"m really tryig to stop eating when I'm full, or my serving is gone, and not when I'm just bursting.

Tonight I actually cooked a pretty good dinner. All recepies from the 3FC website. The savory sweet potatoes, roasted asparagus, and angelfood cake with pineapple sauce. My aim was also for the broiled sage chicken, but I didn't remember to marinate. So, instead, tomorrow I'm having the Grilled Apple Chicken.

So, I added a veggie burger to my meal, because it was only 2 points, and I didn't want just side items. It was very nummy!

well, tomorrow's the big day.. WI time!
Hope everyone had a great monday. Talk to you tomorrow!

Lucy
