Hi There!!

Well it was almost worth being so sick last week. I went to my meeting tonight and lost 5.2 lbs Yippee, I couldn't believe it. Also I got my 50 lb Magnet I have lost 51#'s since rejoining ww and a total of 63 lbs from my highest weight.

Seriously I was so sick though that I was in the hospital on Saturday hooked up to an IV for dehydration so I will probably gain some of it back. I feel all better now but it was real bad.

Julie, yes it was a very interesting topic, my leader brought in 3 apples of various sizes and had us guess how many points they would be, it was interesting hearing everyone's ideas.

Candice, so sorry you are hurting so much. I hope you start to feel better soon. As for DH, he's a man, THEY JUST DON'T GET IT!! They don't seem to realize how we feel when we are sick but my gosh if they so much as stub their toe we have to wait on them hand and foot. Go Figure.

Michelle, I was looking at that book tonight at my meeting and it is very tempting to buy it. Did you buy it? If you did, please let me know how the recipes taste when you try them.

Pj, wow girl as usual you wear me out just thinking of how busy you are, LOL I don't know how you keep up with it all, I just don't have the energy. I am glad you are doing well though and I am sure you will be all settled in soon. Once everything is moved in and put away you can kick back for awhile.

Well, I spent some time today updating my resume just in case my company goes under. Lots of people there are getting ready just in case. There is a job available at a john deere dealer like 3 miles from my house and I actually faxed my resume over, it can't hurt to explore

Have a good night everyone

Bren

BRENDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First a grandma and now 50 lb magnet???? Man, am I ever proud of you.
You go girlfriend!

Michelle, I know just how you feel about wanting him to notice. Good for you for going back.

Candice, I loved having my DS home for spring break but I'm glad he's gone back for a few weeks, too! You wrote words from my heart!

Tara, I haven't lost anything yet. But I did get back on my treadmill tonight. Maybe next week I'll have some good news for you.

Pammy, glad you are home. I know the struggles you guys are dealing with firsthand. Hug Bill a lot.

Julie, it's nice to "meet" you. I don't measure the PB but I guess I will do it tomorrow to see if I estimate too off from the mark, which is why I am nowhere near goal!

SueB it's so good to read your posts. I miss visiting with you here. I really will try to do better.

Sheila, welcome to the nightowls. Some of us hide from time to time (me) but always come back to the nest!

Setina, I hope you and PJ don't use the same auto insurance company. Between the two of you poor gals, you're making them earn their salary! I'm very glad to hear you are not seriously hurt.

Sheri, I always lose up to 3 or 4 pounds when I am sick and within a minute it's all back. Don't you just hate that?

Does anyone remember Elaine? She was from the Boston area if I'm not mistaken. I'd love to find out how she's doing. And Emmy. And Freddie. And anyone else I missed.

Have a great evening you all. Next week is spring break. YEA!

Good morning ladies,

Bren, hey girl, congratulations on that weight loss and getting that 50 lb magnet!!!! Now celebrate (without food of course). Buy yourself something nice, that always worked for me!!!!

About that peanut butter, most of the members who tried to measure that underestimated. That is one thing I do measure faithfully, if I don't, I always go over. Love that stuff.

I'm also doing a quiz this week with my members...just an example: Items sold in vending machines (such as bags of potato chips are candy bars) are one serving each -t/f

The food group with the most commonly underestimated portion sizes - that is, people often think the portions are smaller than they really are - is meats t/f

One cup of any food looks to e about the size of a fist t/f

this week is a lot of fun at the meetings.

Well my friends, have a safe and happy hump day (it is Wed. right

:dizzy:

Hello there:

Just checking in. Hope all is well with everyone.

We just finished our break here. The March break as it is lovingly referred to be the kids. We had a pretty good time and took Scott to Toronto and went to the Hockey Hall of Fame and saw the Stanley cup and the infamous loonie that was at center ice. I don't imagine that guy will be making ice again for a while!!

I guess all the walking in malls and such paid off, cause I still managed to lose 2 pounds while I was away.

Good morning everyone!

Good to see so many of you back again! Sometimes it gets slow in here!

Bren...I did by the cookbook. I tried the cornish hens, the one with the tangerine. It was OK...Andrew ate it! SO it couldn't be that bad LOL. I probably wouldn't make it again only because it was alot of work and I like the skin on my fowl crispy!! I just finished putting together the Venison Chili. I just happened to have two pounds of ground venison in the freezer that my dad gave me and didn't know what to do with. I'll let you know how that comes out. You can use regular ground beef too. I am definately going to try the mac and cheese and the hoppin john. I just keep forgetting to buy the black eyed peas every time I go to the store.

Sue congrats on the 2 lbs lost. Its always harder to lose or even maintain when you are away. Great job!

Julie, I'm looking forward to the meeting tomorrow morning...just not the getting on the scale part. I have been struggling all week. I know how to work the program...just can't keep from thinking about my next meal all the time!

Judy I often wonder about Elaine all the time. From time to time Freddie pops in.

Judy I just started back again last week. Its tough...it was easier when I was alone! Didn't have the crusts of the sandwiches to cut off or John to cook for! Though he eats whatever I give him...he isn't fussy. At least he is eating healthy too! I just have a problem with portion control.

Candice...hope you are feeling better today! Husbands! Hummm...can't live with them can't live without them...well we could but we sure would miss them occassionally!

PJ, Tara, Sentina...hope all is well.....come out and play!

Have a great day! Michelle

Wow you glas are losing pounds left and right!;) :dizzy: ;)

Had a touch of Vertigo Tuesday Morn when I got up so that forced me to rest all day cause I couldn't stand up!

I think PB is hard to guesstimate but I don't like measuring it either but I do like eating it! I weigh and measure everything!

Judygal..how did the docs know there was something wrong with Steve other than the Fibro???????????????

weightwatcher 03-21-2002 06:26 AM

Good morning everyone,

Well we got another snow storm yesterday (ya happy first day of spring). We must have gotten another 5 inches of the white stuff. At least the storm waited until I got home from my WW meetings.

Michelle: I know just how you feel, I used to be thinking of my next meal, right after I would finish one;) What worked for me is to pre-plan my meals and that way I already thought about it and I knew what was coming. Maybe that will help. Believe me, you are certainly not alone with this one.

Oh how I love peanut butter. If I don't measure it I'm in big trouble. The peanut butter I use is 5 points for 2 tbsp. full. Now for someone who can eat a jar of this in one sitting, this is not alot. :dizzy:

So far the meetings are going very well, and members are realizing how important it is that when they are at home, they should use their scale and measuring utensils.

Well I'm off to finish some paperwork and get ready for my meetings today.

Julie

I am off to my meeting this morning...I know it won't be pretty! I was eating anything that wasn't moving the last two days. Its a good thing my son is so active...you have heard of mothers eating their young....no? THat would have been me! LOL

Why don't I have any self control? I know this program works if you work it! And I want it so bad!

Julie....I usually pre-plan my meals but then I think about eating them! What is wrong with me!

Ok let me go see what damage was done! I will be back after all the errands are run!

Catch you all later! Michelle

MichelleK 03-21-2002 10:56 AM

I am sooooo psyched! I am still in shock! I actually lost 7.2 lbs! Can you believe it! What motivation that is!!! I am woman hear me roar! LOl

In my WW meeting there is a sign that says something like the people who stay for their meetings lose better and keep it off....that is so right! When I lost the 97 the first time I stayed at each of my meetings....it really does help...I am actually enjoying the meetings and the friends I have already met there. I look forward to it each week!

Ok gotta do some cleaning and laundry and then I have a thingy at the unemployment office I was summoned to! Lucky me...they want me to particiapte in their job finding workshops...etc etc!

I'll be checking back in to see who is around...come out come out wherever you all are!!

weightwatcher 03-22-2002 06:50 AM

TGIF!!!!

Hey Michelle, first of all congratulations on that weight loss, that is the motivation that you were looking for to get back on track.

Now, you actually answered your own question. If you work the program it will work for you.;)

Take 10 min. from every day and plan your meals. This works. We are all busy but we do need to think of ourselves. This is our health and well being we are talking about here. I have a saying and it goes like this...WHEN MOMMA ISN'T HAPPY, NO ONE IS HAPPY:)

Take the motivation that you got from the meeting and run with it.

Have a great day everyone.

Julie

Just want to let you all know I'm taking the computer apart tomorrow and wont be back online until who knows. I'll have to wait for my cable company to re-hook me up. Anyway, things are so hectic here and without Bill to help....it's a "nuthouse". The kids are driving me nuts and EVERYTHING is getting on my nerves. I am totally CRISPY FRIED!!!!!! Hope you all have a good weekend ..... I might be able to get back on before tomorrow but it's highly doughtful since I've still got a million and one things to do and I really can't be lifting anything. Atleast nothing heavy. Keep me in your thougths and prayers......I'm having such a hard time this week ( and I thought I was all prepared for this move and that it would be a "piece of cake".....HA!!!!!!). My love to you all.
:smoking:

P.s. - Here's a picture taken of me today at 168 and a size 16. (See the next post....below this one....I made a boo-boo and didn't include it here and now I can't add ANY picture to this post) It's been a looong hard trip from 217 and a size 20 - 22 but it's still working and I've got another 35 to go. If I can do it.....ANYONE can. Slow and steady.......that's the way to go.:^:

PJ 03-22-2002 02:21 PM

Boy, those arms have GOT to go. Eeeeeewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!

Candicej 03-23-2002 06:31 AM

What a bunch of losers!;)

You owls are doing so good..PJ nothing wrong with your arms and Bill must think he has a new woman! You are looking good girl :) Hang on to your sanity while you are moving.I'm sure I would make it through another move ever! Just too much junk to go through!

Michele......wow..you are keeping us all motivated!

Julie...That is what I was always told if you work the program it will work for you! I hate it when someone tells me they don't have the time to do WW...it is not hard to keep track of what you eat and plan ahead. Well worth it!

weightwatcher 03-23-2002 07:21 AM

HAPPY SAT. TO EVERYONE!!!

PJ - You are a beautiful woman! I agree with Candice (I think that is who said this) those arms are not bad at all.

Hope all goes well with the moving too.

Its a busy day for me. I have been on the computer way to long:) Better get a move on.

Julie

PATIENCE IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN PERFECTION

weightwatcher 03-24-2002 07:35 AM

Just thought I would pop in and say hi to everyone. It is Palm Sunday and I will be spending the day working a plan for this weeks WW meeting. Now I just need some ideas.....

As members, do you like it when we do a meal planning meeting? With Easter coming up, this is one thing that I normally do. Otherwise, the meeting is about dealing with stress durning the holiday eating season. What would you like to talk about in your meeting?

I will wait to see what you all think, you opinions are important to me.

Julie:)
