Afternoon,
It's so pretty here today. It was a little cool this morning. Tammy, I'm so glad to hear from you. I was really getting worried about you and Bob. That's disappointing about the levels. I was also worried that y'all were in the badly flooded areas. That's all they show on TV. Be really careful when y'all go see Tim. Boo, about Tim having to work. Boo, again. :flow1: |
Tina, thanks for your concern!! He is disappointed about the levels since he's been trying to do what he has been told, but I told him that he has to quit drinking Pepsi and eating candy bars every night.
I met Melissa to just gab this afternoon. I can't believe how high the water is in places. I've never seen it this bad, and I've lived in this county my entire life. I know it is even worse just 20 miles south of us. I'm sure the basement in our old house has turned into a swimming pool unless they've spent lots of $$ to get it completely sealed up tight. I think every basement in that town gets water in it when it rains alot. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow. Not a good thing. I want to go to church on Sunday, but I know how packed it will be. The parking area around our church isn't that big, and with the flooding, there is no way that they can park cars out in the huge yard behind the church like usual on Easter. We'll be careful when we go to see Tim. I talked to him earlier to let him know that we're bringing his tax returns to sign and send in. Didn't go look at mattresses yet. Bob said we are going microwave looking tomorrow, and we might check out mattresses also. Our microwave died while I was making scrambled eggs for myself. Of course since it isn't working, I keep wanting popcorn! It was pretty here too today! I loved having the sunshine!! |
Hi All,
Our adventure was fun! We got about 45 minutes away from home and Pat said "Ok, Now here is a packet with information on where we are going." We drove up to Oklahoma City and did a bunch of stuff and then drove over to the out skirts of Tulsa and came back on Route 66. It was a blast!!! We stayed the night in Oklahoma City. We travelled 648 miles in 2 days. We laughed and had a good time. The nice thing is that I didn't have to plan anything or do anything except enjoy myself. Pat did a great job. We went to the Oklahoma City Memorial. It was VERY moving!!!! Still no piggies!!! I sure hope she has them in the next day or so. If not I'm going to call the vet just to double check. Poor thing looks like she is going to explode. We planted our vegetable garden today. Tina, how are YOU doing? Tammy, I'm glad Bob isn't drinking. Hopefully all the levels will go down. |
Susan, I want to go on an adventure with you sometime!! Have you ever been to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City? We were there several years ago, and we were VERY impressed! It is worth the trip. Will you bring me some of your vegetables when they are ready???
Tina, how was your Easter?? |
:easter2:
I hope everyone had a great day! Susan, did y'all have hot dogs? :) Tammy, did you make it to church? How is Tim? Ours was very nice. We had a good crowd at church. Lots of holidays, people are gone out-of-town. They were mostly all there today. My sister picked up Mother and took her home. we all went and had a nice time. Today, Mother was so happy and lucid. My sister said that when she picked her up, Mother was sitting talking to all her friends. (Mother lost all her hearing a couple of years ago but still acts like she can hear.) It just tears me up that we must move her next month. The move will completely "do her in." Stroke/dementia victims cannot accept any change. She's lived there for almost 8 years. (We still haven't found a place for her.) I've eaten way too much this weekend. Tomorrow it's back OP, for good! :flow1: |
Happy Easter! :bunny2:
Tina, I'm glad that your Mother had a good day. It will be a hard move for your mother as well as you and your sister. Hopefully you will find the right place for her. Tammy, Glad you got to see Tim. We ended up having buffalo wings instead of hot dogs. Pat didn't feel too hot today. I think he over did it this weekend working outside. |
Hello all. I haven't been around much due to work, college, and being mommy. We had another death in the family and had to go out of town last weekend. I haven't been sticking to my plan and in turn have gained. :( I'm joining a local gym today and I'm back on track. I have learned that I must take baby steps instead of just jumping in all at once.
|
Dori, welcome back!!!!!!!
|
Welcome back Dori! I have learned the same thing about taking baby steps! Sorry about your loss. Glad you are back on track!!
Tina, how are you Sweetie? What have you done for YOURSELF lately? Tammy, can you believe that I am ready for summer and today was the first day back from spring break? Someone said "Only 52 days left." My trainer called today and wanted to cancel. i was glad so I stopped by the store and got me a rolling backpack so I stop lugging all my stuff around. Then got ice cream.... it's a comfort food... soothes my heart. Then went to the cemetery to visit Seamus. This time of year has been hard this year on me. Mom is having her sinus surgery tomorrow. I didn't tell her how HORRIBLE I HURT afterwards. I hope hers is like Amy's was, she was up and going in 2 days. I would rather have another knee replacement than have sinus surgery again. And I have a high pain tolerance. |
Tina, I didn't go to church. We ended up leaving early to go to see Tim so we could beat the rush to the restaurants. Terrible aren't we? We had fun with Tim and his gf. Olive Garden was yummy!!!
Glad to hear that your mother had a good day, but I'm sorry that she has to be moved. I pray you find a good place for her. We have some near me! Want to move to Ohio?? Dori, you are a busy person. Sorry to hear about the death in your family. I really have to remember to take baby steps too. Sometimes I just go crazy when I want to start something. Susan, I can really believe that you are ready for summer!! I'm not sure when the schools get out around here for sure. End of May/beginning of June. My niece teaches in Pittsburgh, PA, and her school gets out the end of June. Ice cream helps me when I'm sad, moody, happy, sick (ok maybe not), just about all the time. I was thinking about Seamus the other day, and I don't remember what I was doing at the time. I've heard so many horror stories about sinus surgery. I honestly think Bob needs to have it done, and I've told him that. He doesn't have a high pain tolerance!! Tim called tonight and went over his fall schedule with us tonight. He won't know for a while if that's what he'll get, but it sounds good. His earliest class would be 10:00 three days a week. He has 8:00 and 9;00 classes this semester, and with working late many nights in the dorm, he has been pretty worn out. He isn't doing band next year. I'm bummed, but I understand. He'll be able to devote more time to his classes and being an RA. Not to mention the young lady!! lol |
Happy Wednesday to all,
Susan, how was your mother's surgery? I hope she has an easy recovery. Tammy, I know you'll miss Tim playing or helping with the band. Boy, it will be a weird feeling. Will you go to the games? How is Bob feeling? Dori, are you taking little bitty steps? :) I hope you have some time to relax. I'm so sorry about the death in your family. I can't believe it---Larry goes back to the office next Tuesday. I hope they have a banner or something saying "Welcome Back." He's so ready to go. I'm not too keen on him driving way out there. It's on the other side of town. He'll do fine but he'll be so tired. When he returns to work, I'll get to stay OP more. It's been really hard with him home. I need to lose more pounds because I've gained at least half of what I lost while he was in the hospital. My nephew's wedding is coming up and I need to be down. I bought a dress online. I've never done that before. Have any of you done that??? I hope the size is right and it looks good. If not, I'll have to scour the city. My sister (mother of the groom) still doesn't have her dress. Hmm...it's getting close but she hasn't found anything she likes. Y'all have a good evening. I hope we all have good luck on the scales this week. :D :flow1: |
Hi,
Mom's surgery was a success. The dr. said there was so much infection that they it would never heal. He said it was worse than he expected. Remember me telling you about my student that hit another kid last month. Well, the parents are pressing charges.....on an multi-handicapped kid. It makes me sick!!!! Plus that boy went to the school dance that night so how hurt could he be. I have a sore throat today. I kind of feel lousy. However, you can't tell by the way I've been eating :( I have to stop!!!!!!! |
I told Bob that I still plan to go to the football games next fall even with Tim not in the band. It's a fun atmosphere, and we've had the same seats the past 2 seasons, so we've gotten to know some of the other people around us.
Wow to Larry getting back to work!!! I know he is more than ready. I have made many purchases online, and I have been satisfied with most of them. I've been doing that for many years. Susan, glad to hear about your mom. Sorry to hear that those parents are pressing charges, but i can believe it. People do that so often anymore. Hope your throat is better!! Off to church pretty soon!! |
Just returned tonight from a weekend getaway to friends house. They live two hours from here. It's nice to go somewhere. Now I've got to wash everything.
I ate too much this weekend. I should live on fruit and water this week to get the scales to move. I know----that's not a healthy attitude. :) |
Tina I laughed when I read about the fruit and water. I was considering a similar thing but I was going to have vegies too.
