Kier -
Good to hear from you! I must be hungry today because I was drooling reading your post... I love crepes with nutella and bananas!! That is my favorite way to eat crepes! (Of course now I want one! Good thing there is a crepe place very near where I live!) And good luck on the date! (glad to hear your butt is looking good!) ;) |
Hi Ladies!
Guess what I am getting for Valentine's Day? A trip to Las Vegas!! We leave a week from Sunday for 5 days, just me and DH. I am so psyched!!! :) So, how is everyone? I haven't had a chance to read the posts for the day, so I will do that, then I will be back! :) |
oooooh Tonya! thats sounds fantastic!! :D you are going to have a blast ;)
|
Tonya, have fun. We are planning a trip for May to Las Vegas! Where are you staying???
|
Jen,
We are staying at the Aladdin Resort. |
Tonya - What a great gift! I just stayed at Aladdin in November!!
|
In December we walked through the Aladdin... Very nice!!!!! I remember the old Aladdin.. YUCK! Have fun!! We don't know where we are staying yet.
|
I'm jealous!! But I'd stay at the slot machines all damn day long if I went!!
back to work for me. Does Chai ever expire? I got some when we liquidated a coffee shop, and I'm not sure of the expiration date. Hmmm, I'd be curious. Jen, is your mix liquid? That's what this is. made by celestial seasonings. |
Jen,
Here are my top choices for hotels: Caesar's Palace (need I say more!) Aladdin Bellacio (sorry about the sp? very expensive) Venician MGM Grand there are lots other too, these are just my fav's. The main reason we went with the Aladdin, is its location, and I got the room for a steal. |
Tonya, we are looking for a steal also! I like the NY NY but never stayed there. I have a convention in Vegas every Dec., so we go through the casinos to see what they are like. ANd the Food.... YUMMMMMMM!!!
Did you go through a travel agent?? We usually book our own now that it is so easy. |
Gosh, I am sorry guys for dominating the thread!! But, I must talk about my vacation!! :)
I booked myself. I went to the Aladdin website, and got our rooms for $69.00 each night, and then went thru Funjet.com, and got our round trip tickets for $169.00 for each of us. Good deal!!! I found that either going to the official site of the resort or Expedia.com for the hotels is the cheapest. And, funjet.com is the cheapest for the airline. I was going to do a package deal with funjet, but it was cheaper for me to book the hotel myself. So!! |
That is awesome Tonya. Gonna tell hubby to check the resort sites. NEver thought of that. We also try Orbitz.com for flights. Not sure if I will use frequent flier miles or not. I guess it depends on the deal I get!!!

Afternoon, everyone!
Gosh, I'm so used to saying "Good Morning" that it feels kind of irregular to say "Good Afternoon". Besides, I'm usually grumpy by afternoon--there's a girl who works with me that inevitably manages to make me positively livid by the end of the day. I want more than anything to say something (either to someone else or to her), but I don't know I can trust not to say/do something to cause a hostile work environment. This is mean, but I keep hoping she'll just get fired or quit. For awhile, she was talking about quitting and I was crossing my fingers. Unfortunately, she scratched that idea. (Great, she just had the nerve to send me an email requesting that I apologize to her because she's getting mixed signals from me... How old are we? She really should just approach me instead of passing notes like children.)
What a busy board it's been today. I've been lurking and holding off posting until I had a few minutes free. Luckily my day is almost over, yippee! WI was last night. I lost 3.4 lbs in the last week, YAY! Everyone says that they can tell a difference, but I can't! Not even in how my clothes fit or anything, but I DO have more self-confidence. I may not be able to tell that I'm losing weight by looking at myself, but the scale is telling me I am, so I feel a lot sexier and just all-around better about myself. I must say, however, that I've missed going to the gym the past few days. My last time there was Friday, but I have excuses! Monday night I spent with my BF right after work until 9:30 or so. Tuesday night (my weekly crazy night) was WW and then I made dinner for my Bear. I simply didn't have time the last few nights. But I'm tempted not to go tonight--there is so much that I want to get done that I just don't feel like I'm going to have time to get around to--I got a bunch of new Tupperware that I need to wash and I have dishes all over the place (for some reason, after BF comes over, my apartment looks like a tornado tore the place up!) and I saw a really big bug on Monday, so I need to take the guinea pigs to my parents' house and bug bomb, then I have all sorts of laundry to put away... I hate having a messy apartment. Oh, and I have dry-cleaning to drop off, jeez... If I miss tonight, I won't get in my 4 times this week. I'll probably just go and be miserable about my apartment... OK, enough of my whining, let's talk about you guys! Kirsty--Good job passing up the wine at your friend's art exhibit! What kind of yoga do you do? It's something that has always interested me... Good luck giving up ice cream for Lent. I could probably do that, but giving up chocolate is just going way too far. :D I don't take any vitamins, even though WW says I'm supposed to. I just finished taking a medication that I wasn't able to have any vitamin supplements with Vitamin A in it, so I have to wait a few months before I can start something like that. Lisa--Don't let your roommate bother you. I think everyone has a friend like that--they're the type who's insecure with themselves and (I hope I don't upset you by saying this, but) they're also selfish. I know because I was kind of like that--I wasn't losing any weight and my friends were, and I was SO jealous that instead of being happy for them, I was miserable for myself. I'd be willing to guess that she IS happy for you, but wishes she were smaller... Kirsty (again)--That color thing was fun! It was kind of surprising how well my profile fit me. I had no idea you could tell so much from colors. JenK--I've been struggling with the winter blahs, too, hope it passes soon--I'm sick of being a grumpy Gus... JenL--Yummy, chai tea is GREAT! I don't buy it because I'm not really a tea drinker--if I buy some, I keep it way longer than I should. Rina--What's wrong with us? I've been really tired lately, too. The alarm goes off and I just hit snooze and go back to sleep for another hour... Kier--YAY on the date! He sounds like a hunk, and I'm sure your arse does look wonderful in that skirt. :D (I don't have any idea, but I'm just working to boost your ego, too!) Tonya--Your trip to NV sounds fun! I wish BF and I were going to do something EXTRA special. Instead, I'm going to make dinner and we'll probably spend the evening in the bedroom. :o Hey, look, it's time to go home! YAY! |
Thanks for the advice from all of you. I think I will sit on the crush thing for a while and evaluate it. He's a sweetie, but he does have his downfalls... he's a good friend and all, and I know he has a big soft spot for me, his parents and family love me but at the same time I have to wonder how he would translate into a boyfriend..... He doesn't date much which is dumb, trust me when he wants to, he looks very hot, he's tall (6'4", dark and very handsome in a goofy way)...... man I don't know... funny my pattern is always with guys over 6' tall.
Jess: Congrats on the loss. Rina: Yeah I was sad for Elvis, but I love Alexi Yagudin so I was thrilled he was first! Ahhh, spending Valentine's day watching the Men's Free skate. Tonya: Have a blast! Kierie: glad you had fun at your first pancake day. Lisa: give your friend time, she might just need time to adjust. One of my friends was kind of like that, but she's used to it now. Kirsty: yeah losing weight does change the dynamics of friendship sometimes, I was always the fat girl, I am no longer her. I am the confident one guys come up to on the dance floor. Hi to everyone else, hope everything is going well! Ali |
I know a lot of you have already gone home but I needed a boost of motivation so I read all the posts I've been missing. I've spent a lot of this week in a dark room with 5 big filing cabinets, man, the papercuts. I also gained last week - 1.6 - :( - So dissappointing, of course, I was expecting it, just not that much. And I've been bad so far this week too. I need to get some more exercise.
I have great big happy smiles for all of you who are posting such fabulous losses - :):) :) !!! Well, I also have exciting news, after living in his mother's house for less than 2 weeks, BF and I have decided to buy our own house! We may go for a condo or townhouse but just looking is turning out to be very exciting. We are looking around for a mortage broker and hopefully we can find something that will be perfect for not too much money. I'm barely sleeping I'm soo excited. ANyway, I have some real work to do now so I better get to it. Have a great evening! KT |
