Hi everyone:

Just relaxing today since it is our 1st Family Day holiday up here & I was already on holidays, so makes it extra long. This is the 1st long weekend holiday in winter for us. I am back to work tomorrow & hopefully get my butt back on track. But must admit has been nice to have a break & just be lazy.

So, does everyone here go to ww meetings or are some of you doing ww at home?

Me & my gf did ww for a really long time. Then we stopped going a couple of months ago & I have been trying to do it from home. But finding it just not the same as going to the meetings. So, now I am thinking of re-joining again.
I find for myself I need the support of the group meetings.

Being on this site has really been helpful as well & I appreciate all the support as well.

Time to put dinner in oven. Tonight I am making pork loin roast & squash.

Have a good one.

Hi Bandit, Enjoy your holiday.
I still go to WW mtgs. When I don't go, I usually put back about 8# before I decide I need the mtgs. Everyone's different, but I get a lot of good ideas when I go.

Hi Turtles,
I need some support right now. My dd is involved in a pretty miserable situation at her workplace and it's making me crave food. Even though this is not about me, it is about my dd and I hate to have people make her life tough. In any case, I'm hungry and crazed for food and sweets.

I've had my dinner and am "full" as far as my stomach goes, but that old emotional eat now and you'll feel better feeling is coming on strong. I've already done a lot of good things and I haven't overeaten yet. I also got on the treadmill and I have points left for tonight. So, I'm hoping by posting here now I'll use the points I have left wisely and get up and over this.

Take care and be well.
Judy

Morning all and Happy Tuesday! Very very very cold here today! -9 with the wind chill and it snowed a bit during the night so winter is still here... LOL. I have plans to go to lunch with a friend today, I asked it is was ok if we went to Applebee's and she was fine with that so that made me extra happy! I went to the gym after work yesterday and only did about 2.5 miles between the elliptical and the treadmill but at least it was something. DH is home sick today, lots of flu bugs going around so it is hard to tell what he has but it is in his tummy so he is staying in bed.

Judy: I am so sorry that I did not get online last night and was not able to help you through your rough patch. Boy oh boy it is hard to see your children go through rough times... funny how things can happen to us or things can be said to us but when they happen to our children it makes us even more upset and mad... I would be the same way as you are... were you able to get through it ok?

Bandit: Holiday sounds wonderful! I wish we had more of them down here :D Lazy is ok! I go to W/I and meetings every week, I have to or like Judy said I would gain and just simply not be as accountable as I am when I have to go in and face the music every Saturday morning. DH went with me last week and he seems to be getting back on track, he lost 2.6 last week and hardly even tried :dizzy:

All: I hope that everyone is having a great day and staying on plan.

I will check back later on!

Princess

Itryharder 02-19-2008 09:24 AM

Hi All,
I survived the rough patch. I had points left over and I "should" have had some fruit, but I chose something else and it was okay--not great, but okay.
On the other hand, I didn't binge and I did count it in. Princess, thanks for thinking about me. Actually posting here helped me come through the emotional cravings better than I would have in the past. Yesterday was one of those days where it was good just to go to sleep. LOL. Today is bright and sunny, although cold, and it's another day!!

Princess, :tread: and exercise is wonderful!!! Weigh to go. Lunch at Applebee's sounds like so much fun. Also, I'm so glad to hear that your dh is back to mtgs. because it's better for his health too. :chef:

You all take care. I'm going to a WW mtg. a day early today because tomorrow dd and a friend and I have plans to catch a matinee in NYC. In keeping with my New Year's resolutions this is my "ticket" item for the month.
I'm working on getting to see more entertainment since NYC is so rich with arts, etc. It's good for me to get out.

Take care and be well.
Judy

CherryAutumn 02-19-2008 10:24 AM

Judy- so sorry i wasn't here last night to give you support but that is great that you were able to pull through.

Princess- wow that is cold. It is great that you got to the gym

Bandit - I do ww at home by myself. I mean i don't use ww online either. I use these boards and my husband is a support for me.

:goodscale Ladies it was weigh in day today. So last Tuesday i weighed 219 and this morning. Drumroll please.....
217.5 :D:carrot:
So down 1.5 pounds this week.

Princess1122 02-19-2008 11:33 AM

Cherry: Great job! You are doing really well! Keep at it!

Judy: You are doing so great and it is just incredible and a true statement to how far you have come that you worked through your rough patch! Great job! Did you make the crepe recipe yet? I have the stuff to make it but have not done it yet.

All: I am off to lunch soon, oh... as much as I want to go see my friend and eat a meal that I did not actually prepare I dread going out in that cold air... UGH!
Bandit has got to be freezing up her way also...

Itryharder 02-19-2008 12:16 PM

Hi Turtles,Thanks for the encouragement. It means so much to me.

Cherry, Weigh to go!!! :goodscale: You're doing great. Wow! What a positive difference you're making.

Princess, enjoy your lunch! Brrrr.

I've gotta write this fast, but I am so :carrot: :dancer: happy. I lost two pounds this week. Stepping up my exercise and working through the rough patches worked this week. Hooray! :goodscale: this is the lowest I have weighed in the last twenty weeks. okay--exercising more, planning and preparing, and working through emotional eating (and recording points even when emotional eating rears its ugly head) can and did work for me this week.
Now I'm gonna do it again.
Love,
Judy

Cherry & Judy - congratulations on a fabulous week. I'm sure that will be motivation for you - so keep it going!

Princess - hope you have a nice lunch with your friend. Remember, good choices = good results.

And yes, it is pretty cold up here. Yesterday was -15 and today is snowing but not sticking to roads, so that is good.

I stayed the same again last week. So, really have to get refocused this week.

Have a good one.

Princess1122 02-19-2008 03:25 PM

Judy: Congrats! That is just awesome! Keep it going!

Bandit: Staying the same is not so bad either... :D. I did make a good choice at lunch, I had the new WW Garlic Chicken dish, it was very good, I was still kind of hungry though but it is one of those really hungry days for me I guess...

Have a great evening all, I am out of here shortly and heading home for the evening... no work out tonight with DH home sick...

CherryAutumn 02-19-2008 05:32 PM

Judy - Yay! Great job on your two pound loss this week.:carrot:

chrily 02-19-2008 07:15 PM

You gals have been a busy little group since I last checked in. Well I haven't gotten exercise in yet but yesterday was the first day in a whole line of bad ones where I actually did not go over my points. Today has been good so far too. I haven't eaten my way through the day and have kept busy with little projects here and there. Of course it helps when you have a little girl home with pink eye...lol. My major accomplishment in the last 3 days is I have only drank 1 diet pop. That is a hard one for me too. I think I may be getting too much salt.

I'm going to have to print out that recipe for the angel food cake. That looks sooo good. Any more good recipes....PLEASE POST!!!! I'd love some new stuff to try. Well dinner is a calling and the kids are hungry. Talk to you soon.

Christina

Itryharder 02-19-2008 11:33 PM

Chrily,This is great that you stayed within your points. Keep up the good work. See, we're all trying hard and doing this! I'll be gone tomorrow, but when I come back I'll open the next thread. We're tearing up cyber space like crazy. Yay!

Princess, glad you had good choice at Applebee's--yeah--I'm hungry there too, but I try drinking lots of water and have fruit at home.

Princess1122 02-20-2008 08:39 AM

Morning all and Happy Wednesday! Cold and snowy here again today but over all the drive into work was not too bad. I did wake up this morning to find that my TOM had arrived... ugh! That will not be good for this weeks W/I but that is ok and a fact of life... so I move on and get over it.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well! I am so glad to hear it.

DH is home sick again today, I think the flu bug is officially in the house... Blah! Well I have to get to work, have some issues to work on today so that should keep me busy.

We go to get our taxes done tomorrow evening... I have been praying that this will be the year that we don't have to pay! The last few years had hit us hard because all of our children are grown now so no more child credit deductions... now if I could only figure out a way to get SS #'s for the dogs... :D

Have a happy day all!
Princess

Thanks everyone for welcome! I had a 2 lb. loss thsi week. I am so amazed. It must be the change in my thyroid meds. I am on Flex, I journal my food and don't do enough exercise. It needs to warm up a bit more so I can go walking without the fear of ice.
I am a grandmother and great Grand. Never too late to get healthy! I have a great WW leader and she welcomes everyone and gives good meetings.
Although the sun is out I may be at home today. (I'll admire it from the window) There's a lot of help here and it gives a stay to it power to all! Loved the recipes and will try them.

Itryharder 02-20-2008 09:53 AM

Hi All and welcome again to Liz! What a great first week. Keep up the good work. I'm heading out the door to NYC and am planning on having a good day of fun and food wise. I'll let you know how I do.
Judy

CherryAutumn 02-20-2008 11:37 AM

I think i did really well yesterday. I stayed within my points and even had to have a few snacks after supper to get myself up to my 26 points for the day.:carrot:

Lizabeth - Congrats on your loss. You are doing great.

Princess - Sorry to hear about the flu going around. Hope the taxes give you a break this year.:D

Judy - Have fun on your trip. Cant wait to hear how it went.

Chrily - Good to hear from you. So proud about your 1 diet soda. That can make a big difference in your weightloss. Yep having a little one at home can definately take up more of your time. I would know. I have a 2 1/2 yr old little girl and an 8 month old little boy.:dizzy::dizzy:

CherryAutumn 02-20-2008 11:41 AM

Sorry Bandit i forgot you in my personals. That is good that you atleast maintained your weight and didn't gain. Just keep that focus and you will see it go down.

chrily 02-20-2008 03:46 PM

Forgot to say Hi to Lizabeth...Howdy!

Trying to keep my mind occupied right now. With all the tight finances, hubby is wound as tight as a piano string. Everything sets hims off, so needless to say we got into a fight. Of course, right away, my body tells me its hungry. I haven't touched anything and am not going to. I just have to hold out for 1/2 hour more, then I can leave and go get the kids from school. The rest of my afternoon is running around until 6:30 or so. My sister is at home (I think she has strep) so I have to run to her kids' school and pick them up too. It may be inconvenient but ITS ALL IN THE NAME OF WEIGHT LOSS!!! Well, it is in a round about way. If it keeps me out of the food, then I'm fine with it.

Talk to you all soon....

Christina

Okay Turtles, I'm opening a new thread. Look for us at #195--climbing over obstacles!
See you there.
Judy

Lizabeth2 02-22-2008 09:45 AM

Hello to everyone! Such a nice welcome. I am still learning how to use boards and so far enjoying just reading posts and answering when I can.
Judy, I think I am in the same boat when it comes to being hungry and think too it is emotional hunger. All the other weeks I did O K on the points and lost (10.8 lbs so far.) Maybe if I pick up on the exercise it will 'even out'.
Loved the angel food cake recipe and will make it for this Sunday with grandkids coming for dinner. Need to lick this worry about family matters instead of licking my dish. LOL

Itryharder 02-22-2008 12:41 PM

Liz,
I hear you and like the way you said it. Lick the family matters instead of the dish!!

See you all on #195 Bale of Turtles Climbing over Obstacles!
Look for it in the ww clubs.
Love,
Judy
