hello!
hi everybody!
well, i just came across this site and it seems to be exactly what i need! i'm 28 and living in the netherlands, although i'm canadian (here for school and work). i just started WW a few weeks ago and after the initial lost of 2kg (which i'd gained after going home to visit my family over the holidays) my weight loss has STOPPED and although i'm trying hard to stick on the points, it gets discouraging when the results don't come. I don't really like going to the meetings because they're in dutch and i don't really have anything to say to anyone. so, i'm looking for support on the net. hope to hear from someone soon! |
hi weerzacht,
where in the netherlands are you? i've been to amsterdam, the hague and scheveningen. are you enjoying it? come join us on the daily thread (just look for today's day or date) and get posting! we tend to start a new thread each day so it's easier to keep track of things. oh, and if you aren't seeing much change on the scales, try measuring yourself. sometimes that can show you're getting smaller, even if those darn scales aren't budging. but they will move too - it just takes time. kirsty |
thanks
thanks for that advice kristy. i'll do that... i live in rotterdam although i do live part of the time in brussels to do some freelance work.
anyways, i weighed myself today and the arrow was just a little below the 56kg mark. good news! |
ooh, belgium chocolate. mmmm.
wow - 56kg is pretty light. i'm guessing you aren't very tall, otherwise you don't need to lose any more weight! |
hi kristy,
no, i'm not very tall. only 5 feet. when i first moved to belgium, i weighed what i weigh now. but after living with a very thin girl who loves food and can consume huge quantities without gaining weight, i put on about 10 kg (at least!). i was a size 44! it happened so fast and before i knew it, it stuck! then, 2 years ago, i decided to do a master's degree in holland. i moved away from this girl, and because the main form of transportation for most dutch is the bike, i got one too. in a few months i was down to 60. And then since then, while i haven't really dieted, i eat much more healthy and i used to go to the gym a lot, my regular weight became 58. but in the new year, i decided that i really wanted to get down to a size 34 . i don't really know how much weight that is, but i do know it is realistic for my height since i have a few friends who are about my height ( a bit taller even) and they look good and not too skinny with size 34. so i started weight watchers. so, 2 kg is a good start. now my size 38 clothes are getting looser. the only problem is that there's no size 37 and 36 is still too small. (i know because i have some size 36...i bought them as a way to motivate myself). long story, but that's why i started. anyway, have a good day and talk to you later!:) W |
hi there,
glad to hear you aren't going to get too skinny! do come and chat to everyone on the daily thread, quite a few canucks post there! i'm just going to start one now. kirsty |
