Happy Tuesday all... well I guess I got a bit out of hand on vacation and while I was sick... I am up almost 5 lbs... could be all the med's I am on but I know I over did it on vacation so I am sure this Saturdays W/I will be filled with frustration on my part. Oh well, what can you do when the damage has already been done... get back up on the wagon and keep going is about all we can do.
Glad to see Sandy and Chris back... hope all is well with both of you. Judy: You sound like one really busy women! Ariana: Have you gotten moved into your new place yet? Not much is new here really, just need to get my butt moving and get active again, I have really been a slug since my vacation and not feeling well... I am going to go for a bike ride this evening with my DS so that will help. Have a great day all! Princess |
Hi turtles:
Judy - glad you are getting back on track, keep up the good work. Princess - hope you are feeling well again and your holiday gain not bothering you too much. Things will get back in no time. Hang in there! I made it to gym Mon and am going again directly from work today. I think that will work better than going home first. It is really hot up here, but not complaining - I like the heat and soon the cold weather will be back. So enjoying it while I can. Hope everyone else is being "turtle-like" and staying OP. Have a good one! |
Good to hear from you, Bandit.
Glad you're working things out for yourself! Yay! I, for one, know how easy it is to drop good habits and pick up the old habits that made me fat. So I'm working one day at a time to deal with my weight. Princess, You'll have that :beach: weight off before you know it. Guaranteed that a lot of it is due to salt and fluid retention. The big trick is getting right back into your good habits and watching the weight drop off getting ready for the next big push in weight loss. You've done great so far and are an inspiration to me. :cp: :bravo: I may head to WW's tonight because I had to babysit this morning. I think I've done okay and hope that last week's small gain will be history. Otherwise, I'll WI soon==Thursday or Friday. It's been crazy here! Good luck and :grouphug: to our group--newcomers, come back in and let us know how you're doing. Judy 234.6/221.2/thinner into onederland  |
Hi Turtles,
I ran a lot of errands today and was able to still get to my WW mtg. I was down 1# and that's close enough to wiping out last week's gain. I was so glad that I made the effort to get to my mtg. because my favorite leader was there. She is so funny and really makes her point about weight loss. Last week we had a substitute and although she tried to get the mtg. going she kept putting her foot in her mouth by asking questions that were embarrasing to the people she questioned. Oh well==some of these leaders are more gifted than others and I'm so glad my regular leader was back. Okay==gotta run, but wanted to check in. Judy 234.6/220/thinner into onederland  |
I was worried that I missed something but looks like we are all having hard time posting. My feet feel much better but still don't have the energy to even want to exercise. I know that is going to be what makes or breaks my weight loss. I have no idea why I am so tired and dragging all the time. I'm taking vitamins and taking the yucky fish oil that my doc wants to help lower my cholesterol.
I'm back to school in 4 weeks. I had all these intentions of being on track and losing weight before I go back. Somebody please help meeeeee! Christina |
Okay Turtles,
I would ordinarily start a new thread, but we really are "turtle-ing" with our e-mails right now. Good luck to all of us in the summer dog days of August. Judy |
Hey all...
Not a bad day here so far. Not too hot yet at least. I'm getting all these little revelations bit by bit each day. Last night it dawned on me that I haven't carried around my WW points books for a long time and I haven't really been watching my portion sizes. So today, my new purse accessory is going to be my old friends--the WW books. Of course I'll have to switch back to the big purse for a while....:) I watched a repeat of Dr. Phil yesterday about overweight people. The one gal was 650+ lbs and talking about how her family abandoned her. Everything she said made it sound like she was a victim. I just wanted to scream. She is so much more capable than she thinks. And I just wanted to slap her and tell her to quit blaming everyone else for her situation and start owning it. Heck, that is part of my problem too. I made myself the size I am- nobody else. I put the food in my mouth, I chose what to eat, and I chose not to exercise. The warnings flashed in my face for years and I ignored them. Now I am at my highest weight in my life and IT IS ALL MY DOING! Now its my job to undo it. This is so much a lesson in patience in my life. I am an instant results person. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone. I know there is some genetics involved in a person's weight. I just think that everyone has the potential and the tools to make themselves as healthy as possible. That doesn't mean stick thin either...(NOW, I'm going to go and start my day by doing what I've been preaching on my soapbox.) Hope you all have an awesome day! I'm going to go eat some breakfast and get this day going. Love ya all. Christina |
Chrily, you sound wonderful! I love your gumption. :cp: to drinking water, exercising, watching portions, really counting points and doing what we know is right for us.
Judy |
Okay Turtles,
I am really worried about us. I know that when I don't post, it's because I'm having a tough time staying OP. How are we doing? I'll be heading to my WW mtg. on Wednesday morning and then a friend and I will be going for coffee afterwards. Sounds good. Hey, here's a :cheer:  :cp: :bravo: and a :grouphug: for all of us. Ariana and Princess Bandit and Chrily, I hope to see you back here soon. Judy |
Morning all. I am here, I have just been really busy lately at work so I almost never have time to get online anymore. I am still OP but have hit a few bumps in the road lately between vacations and med's that have made me gain some weight. I have one and a half more weeks on the meds and then I am done... I am back OP with the eating and still taking my pilates classes but I need to get out and get some walking in... it has been very hot here so walking outside is not very pleasant but I need to get moving and do it anyway or go to the gym at the very least.
Hope all is well with everyone... I will try and get back here more often! Princess |
I don't know if i have introduced myself on here yet. My name is Aubrey and i weigh 212. I am 24 and just had 2 kids in the past 2 1/2 years. I wanted to join here to get support. I am having trouble getting back on the WW wagon after my second pregnancy. I lost 20 pounds on WW right before i got pregnant. Anyone have some advice or motivation i could use.

Welcome Aubrey - nice to have you here.
Hi all you Turtles - yes, site very quiet. I having been doing OK with my food - although during summer I spend lots of time at trailer with company coming & going. But still I have gotten back to gym in last 2 weeks and did a 1 hour cardio dance class last night for the first time. It was really a workout but fun at the same time. Congrats Judy on being down a lb - good for you. How's is everyone else doing - enjoying your summer I hope and eating lots of fruit & veggies (that is what I need to do) Anwyay, have a great turtle OP day. |
Morning all!
Welcome Aubrey! This is a good group of folks, we have been quiet lately but I think everyone has had a busy summer so getting on the computer has come last on our daily activities list. The plan works, just keep at it and the weight will come off in no time, especially at your age. I am envious because at 44 it is very slow coming off for me. Bandit: It is hot and dry up your way also? We are so dry here most everyones yards look like brown straw fields and there are water restrictions all the time. Hope all is well with you, your dance class sounds like a blast! Judy: Congrats on the pound! Hope all is well with you, I'll bet you are busy, you always are it seems no matter what time of the year it is. Chris: Are you feeling better? Hope all is well... what ever happened with your DH and his job... did you already tell us and I just missed it... LOL, that would be just like me to miss it. Ariana: Where are you lately? Did you finally get all moved into your new place? I hope that all is well with everyone... I am going to W/I on Saturday morning no matter how bad it will be... just a bit over one more week of pills and then I am done so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weight will start coming off again and I will lose the lbs that I have gained since being on it. Have a happy day! Princess |
:welcome3: Aubrey! This is a great place to come and post. We've been through what you're feeling right now, but some members on this site have lost a lot of weight and are really doing well.
My name is Judy, I'm a grandma, my weight is in about 220# and right now I'm having a hard time getting it to budge. My shape is changing and that's not a good thing. However, as motivation--sorry--, I know that if I stay OP and exercise I can lose a pound a week. You are so young that I know you can be successful. Words of wisdom?? Learn the WW program, journal everything you eat--take it easy--don't put pressure on yourself--drink lots of water, exercise, watch portion control. You can do this. Loads of people are successful with this. Having two young children in the house, my best words of advice are to be prepared with food you like, is easy to fix, and that is low in points. Beyond that, I would say that while your kids are eating, try and keep them company and drink lots of water then. You might want to grab some time later to actually eat because I remember it was so tempting when throwing out what the kids didn't eat to nibble some and those BLT's (bites, licks, and tastes) are pretty tough on a weight loss program. So that's my advice in a nutshell. It's good for me to remind myself too. Bandit and Princess, I'm so glad to hear that you are both OP and simply busy. Isn't it odd how we always think that the Christmas month is so busy and yet here we are in the middle of summer and hardly having a minute to spare? I bet Ariana is also head over heels with stuff to do because she was moving and very busy at work. Chrily, are you feeling any better? I sure hope so. Here it's been rainy and very hot--now the weather has broken and it's really nice. I've got so much to do it's crazy, but I do like to keep busy. Today I WI and I'm hoping for the best. I've gotta get on the treadmill more often and I know I can do it if I schedule it in. Take care and be well and keep on keepin' on. I'll go to my mtg. and then start a new thread. Judy |
Hi everyone:
Princess - yes, it has been very hot up here but we have had some much needed rain in the 2 weeks. But everyone's grass is very brown but a few good rains will get in back to normal. Judy - you are right, we think Christmas is busy but seems lately I have had no "spare" time at all. Between working, looking after house & getting up to trailer & entertaining there it has been crazy. But, love having the company. In a few weeks, the kids will all be back in school (I say kids, mine is 21 and going into 4th year university) then things will be quieter, but then just worry more when she isn't at home. She has apt near university that she will share with 1 other girl. For the last 2 years she was sharing townhouse with 3 other girls & there was just too much drama. So, hoping this will be better. Have a good one. |
