Wow, lots to respond to, so here goes!
Mousie,
Great to hear from you. I am sure sorry that even when you planned, things didn't go the way you planned. How come your mom forgot to make your protein dish? That's a big forget. Well, it's in the past and I remember all the wonderful things you've learned already and how well you're doing on your weight reduction plan, so good for you for forgetting a pretty unmemorable Thanksgiving and moving on.

For everyone,
As far as my mysterious sleep-walking ten points--to be absolutely honest, I had wonderful foods in the house over Thanksgiving that I wouldn't ordinarily have around. You're all right--no way can I have that many super foods here and not eat some of them, banked points or not.

Lin,
Always good to hear from you and see how your life is going. I bet you are holding water from extra exercise. That to me is the silliest bummer~ I let exactly that same thing throw me off a while back because I was ticked that I was exercising so hard and "gained a pound." Well, the point is I hadn't gained a pound, but I was up on the scale momentarily. I also love the way you handled left-overs this time. You really planned. Weigh to go!

Lauren,
That was so nice of you to get to church to help the less fortunate. Very generous of you. I am so proud of you. You are almost at your stated goal weight. Wow! You're giving me all sorts of inspiration. Keep up the good work.

Everyone,
I'm doing fine. Yesterday I kissed my son and wife and baby off around six o'clock and promptly collapsed. I waited on my dad hand and foot for five days and I'm not used to that. He's 84 and was willing to fly up to NY, and of course I want to treat him well, but it wasn't easy. I took him to the airport very early in the morning. This is true because I work very hard with very young children and I use a lot of energy at work. I made a feast for Thanksgiving, had all the kids around. My youngest and her husband came in Thanksgiving around midnight and we stayed up talking. then we got up early the next morning--that's the morning I made another apple pie. I did an awful lot of work during my vacation, but it was fun, just tiring. Tonight I'll get a good night's sleep and that will be wonderful.
I stepped on the scale and I'm up three pounds. I believe a lot of that is water and salt, etc. I know I didn't eat exactly the way I planned, but I didn't do badly and I'm on track today. I even banked 4 points today and that's a great way to start the week.
If I don't see success on the scale, I may weigh in on Saturday morning and still go to my regular WW mtg. on Wed. we'll see how things look in two days. I'm starting to know myself and if I promise to get to weigh in on Saturdays, now I really do it. I'm really not fooling myself any more the way I used to.

You guys all rule. Take it easy and let's do Mousie's motto==
Yoda's rule--do it!
Love
Judy

Hi, Turtles,

Judy, it's great to hear that you're congratulating yourself on the things you're doing right. And not wasting precious time beating yourself up over small issues. You're doing great! I'm sure that no matter what happened with your weight over Thanksgiving, you will see success again soon.

Because you're back on track right away. That's an important key and you're really getting that one down well. It's really great since you have so many challenges in your life. And it's only natural that we won't be perfect in our response to challenges because the nature of a challenge is that some or most of it is out of our control. So, you're learning to do the best you can and move on. That's great!

I'm doing just fine. Including activity points, I banked a whopping ten points today. I ate the minimum and didn't use any activity points. I didn't need more food than that. But, I may use a few of those banked points at dinner and have a whole bagel instead of a half. We're having breakfast for dinner. It's a really cheap meal and we do it a couple of times a week during this financially crunched year.

I actually went for two walks today. I walked back from the car rental place and went to the store later. So, I got in a good bit of activity.

We're getting on to page 2, so I will start a new thread tomorrow. I need to start dinner so I don't have time right now.

Happy turtlin'! :)
