Judy - good luck with your celebration challenges this weekend.
That is always tough to be around so many temptations. As you said, baby steps, will get us all at goal. All you turtles - have a great OP weekend. As for me, I am off to the gym and am really going to focus on eating well all weekend. That is my goal & I am sticking to it. Have a good one. |
Happy Monday all!
Well it was a short weekend but an uneventful one and that is good. We got my oldest son moved but that was interesting since it snowed all day Saturday and that U-Haul truck ramp was so slippery it was a like a slip and slide going up and down it... not fun but at least I did not fall and since I lack grace and agility that is a good thing :D The house is quiet already and I miss him and it has only been a day and half... but he is only a few blocks away but I like to keep my distance and not crowd them as they have their owns lives. I got his room put back into a spare room so that when my mom comes to visit she will have a place to stay and be comfortable.
I went to W/I on Saturday but I stayed the same, no loss and no gain, I will take it I guess and keep going. I did not get in any cardio last week due to the snow storms but I did get all of my Pilates classes in. This week I am back on the cardio and all of the Pilates, I really think that cardio makes a huge difference with me. I think I will switch it up a bit and do more time on the treadmill with an incline and less on the eliptical and see if that helps a bit. How was everyones weekend? Susan |
Hi turtles:
Princess - a maintain is better than a gain. You are right, maybe switching up your exercise will give you a kick start again. I got to the gym over the weekend so was pleased with that. My daughter got back from Cuba yesterday & said they all had a good time. Mostly the weather was good but cool 2 days & rained 1 day. But they still had fun. My goal this week: gym 3 times stay OP all week. How about everyone else? What are your goals for this week? |
Hi Princess,
Glad you are intact after helping your son move. I was out in the ice this weekend and it's not fun! Glad he's nearby and you can still be in touch. Staying the same is fine, and this week you'll see another loss. :goodscale: So happy you're getting an adjustment to your :tread: You and Bandit and Ariana are inspiring me. I've put a bright sticker on my calendar each day that I've gotten on the :tread:. You're doing fine and this week will be even better! Bandit, Glad your daughter is back and had a good time. Soooo glad you got to exercise over the weekend. That's a wonderful commitment. Glad you've posted your goal for this week. My goal is to get on the :tread: at least 4x this week: Monday to Monday. I know I can do it and simply need to get on within an hour of waking up. I also want to concentrate on drinking more water since I imagine that I drink more than I actually do~ Had a great eating time at the party and then the party and back home. Didn't get on the scale, but if I am up--and I don't know that I am--it will be only because of salt since I was verrrrrrry careful. 1. :tread: 4x this week 2. 6 glasses of water daily this week. Onward and downward. Kerri, are you back? Chris, how are you doing? Ariana, did you get to quilt this weekend? Judy |

Ladies:
Good afternoon. How is everyone! I have been busy, busy, busy. I weighed in Wednesday night, and I'm down 1.2, which is great. ;D :D :D If I can keep that off and lose .6 more, I'll be at my cumulative goal for February (Feb and Jan together.) I drove down to see my family Thursday afternoon, and I got back Sunday afternoon, then I went to get new workout clothes (I haven't bought new ones since I was 165-170, so the workout clothes I had were quite loose.) I had a wonderful time with my family, I just wish I could have stayed longer. It was very restful and relaxing. The highlight of my weekend was buying size 12 clothes at NY and Company (formerly Lerner's, my favorite clothing store.) I haven't bought size 12 clothes since 1999. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D This is a tremendous victory for me, because one of my WL goals was to be able to wear size 12's again -- the size I was when I left for college in 1998. By 1999, I was having to wear 14's, and I went steadily up, throughout and after college, until I weighed 206 and wore size 22 pants; at that point, I could not longer shop at my favorite store (NY & Co) and I had boxes of clothes in the garage that were too small. I am now down to two boxes of clothes that are too small (some 12's that are still too small and some 10's.) I just fit into the 12's, but when I get down to goal, they should be quite comfortable, or I should be a 10. That is tremendous, incredible, awesome. I am so happy and thrilled. I had to share it with you guys. :D Now, on to each of your posts since I posted last... Princess: Sorry about the weather troubles. You will get back on track. I have faith in you! I went home for the weekend, to see my family. That was really nice. Re making new friends -- yes, put yourself out there -- also, do you know if MeetIn (http://www.meetin.org) or MeetUp (http://www.meetup.com) have groups in your area? Both are free social organizations, MeetIn is a volunteer-run social group, and the only cost you pay is for the events you choose to attend (there is no membership fee); MeetUp is a website that links you with other people with the same interests in your area; it is also free. You might check those two things out. I'm an active member of my local meetin, and I've met quite a few people that way. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself. Sorry you maintained, but if you think about it, when you miss all of your cardio for a week and you're stuck at home with all kinds of temptations, maybe maintenance is a good thing? Always remember, maintenance can also be thought of as not gaining. I'm sure it is hard to have a kid move out, I remember how rough it was on my family and on me, when I went to college, but it gets easier. (PS: I think you mean Psychic party, not Physic party. Was it fun?) Bandit -- if it's not too much trouble, maybe you could post that recipe? (Chicken Sonoma Valley Salad) .4 is still good, so congrats on that. I know that the weekends can be hard. Hang in there, you can do it. My goals are workout 4x, plus 12 hours of OT this week. I'd like to lose .6 this week and get to my February goal, but I realistically expect to maintain, because I only got to workout 2x last week and I went home this weekend -- I ate more than usual, but not too much, I think. We'll see. Judy: That's exactly what our weather is like. We hide inside from June to September, and then the rest of the year is quite nice. When it's hot, it's really, really hot, but the cold is mild. I prefer the intense, quite dry heat to a humid heat any day. Since I've lived here so long, I handle heat better than cold weather, so it works out. Sounds like your situation works for you, as aggravating as it is now, it will be beautiful soon. In a couple of months, it will be nasty here. I am not looking forward to it. It sounds like you are handling the festive occasions well, and that you've got a good attitude, and that you are adjusting to your overeating problems -- you are taking the right approach, picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and going right back to the track. That's key; if you persist and adapt, success is inevitable; failure is only inevitable if you give up or refuse to change. Yep, I'm always on the go. It's a skill. ;o I think the sticker on the calendar for the days you get on the tread is a great idea, what a nice positive visual reinforcement. I'm glad that we inspire you! No, I didn't get to quilt. I went out at bought new workout clothes at my Mom's insistence (the ones I had were loose -- I haven't purchased new workout clothes since I weight 25 more pounds, and they're quite loose.) You probably won't hear from me again for a few days, unless I get an extra few minutes. I have a lot of errands to run this week. |
