I just love this blog - she's a real person, eating healthy whole foods at almost every meal!

It is interesting.

I, too, end up throwing out the hummus. I guess I should look around and find a good recipe for some.

Hummus is super easy to make...

Chickpeas (and/or other white beans)
A bit of tahini
Garlic
Whatever else you want...

Blend blend blend or process process process. You can do it to taste as well.

I never measure or anything when I make it.

Don't forget the lemon juice! Cumin, paprika, coriander, cayenne are good flavor additions. Roasted red peppers (skins removed if you can get 'em off), pesto, roasted eggplant (baba ganoush/hummus hybrid!), it's all good. Hummus is like it's own food group in my diet. :D

I love this site, I wish she would come cook 3 meals a day for me! She's a registered dietician too, which makes it even more cool. She's not trying to be perfect, she's just trying to eat well! I love all the ideas I'm getting.

What a great site! Thx for posting Glory. Her smoothie looks sooooo refreshing!

Just butting in on the hummus recipe. I have subbed peanut butter or sesame oil for the tahini when I didn't have any. It worked fine. You couldn't really tell a difference in taste even, but that could be because of all the garlic I use, LOL

Wow that site looks great! Lots of photos too which I love. :) I've been wanting to try hummus as chickpeas are my favorite bean. What do you all eat it with?

Hummus is great! I get this spicy black bean hummus that a local healthy grocery store makes...it's amazing!

Tracey, I like it as a dip for raw veggies usually carrots for me. It's also good as a spread on whole wheat crackers.

I eat hummus on salads too, for a rich, creamy, fiber and protein packed "dressing". Its good in wraps too.

yum yum! I can't wait to try it!

I also spread hummus on sandwiches sometimes in favor of light mayo. It has so much more flavor, especially since I get the roasted red pepper hummus.

Wow..I found this so helpful. I love to see how someone else is eating. Very insightful...love the pictures.

My fav way to eat hummus...Take a whole grain tortilla...smear hummus all over...then add a layer of spinach, salsa (newmans lime is so good), deli turkey meat and small amt. of parm cheese. Leave flat..and put in oven on broil until cheese melts...take out of oven..while warm..fold over. Very..very yummy and filling!
