Default Ready for Hump Day!

Good evening ladies!

Just wanted to check in and report that I did 60 mins of cardio (elliptical) and 30 mins of weights tonight at the gym after work, making it 120 minutes of cardio and 150 mins of total exercise this week so far. I'm also eating healthy foods, as I usually do during the week - but i feel as if I'm eating more - probably b/c im working out. TOM is gone, so it can't be the TOM munchies, but I'm just generally hungrier.

Amy, great job on that exercise. You are really doing all sorts of stuff - cardio, weights, pilates - that's awesome!! I was LMAO regarding the "porn poses."

Jenn, thanks for posting that pic!! Those trees definitely look like they demanded some serious strength and cardio training last weekend.

Renee, mostly that's how I feel about my weekend splurges - they are worth it! I eat only the things that I love and food is to enjoy after all. There's gotta be a reason God has made all those delicious flavors that entice! Anyway, you are such a super woman - I got tired just reading the list of tasks you accomplished today. GO you!

Linda, hope you're doing ok. Been waiting for an update - hope you are resting up and relaxing with kitty. Let us know what doc says and definitely ask about upping your exercise and whether that could have caused it - I immediately thought that when I first read your post.

Ok where are the ladies who haven't posted here in a while? Kelly? Deidre? come out, come out, wherever you are!

Talk to you ladies tomorrow!! Much Love.

Hi Ladies,

Gradually I am feeling a bit more normal. Went to see the doc yesterday. They are again giving me the diagnosis of GERD, even though I don't have heartburn. Evidently you can have this condition w/o the classic heartburn. They want me to stay on a Proton Pump Inhibitor medication since I am responding to it so I need to check the insurance company's web site to see which they'll cover at the best cost. This is pretty much how I thought it would go. The worst part is the foods they ae asking me to give up, coffee being the hardest one to think about. One of the others is tomatoes. I was thinking about the other mild cases I have felt and they all seem to have been a couple of hours after I have eaten lunch. And every lunch time I eat steamed veggies and you guessed it.. raw tomatoes. Ugh.

I ate a little more yesterday with only a couple of minor cramps so its going okay. This morning I tried another new food and so far so good. Tummy is making plenty of noises but no cramps. I am at home again today because I am still feeling very wrung out. Being in severe pain for around 8 hours sapped the vinegar right out of me I guess. I am thinking of maybe going in to work around lunchtime. And then again maybe not. Will see.

No exercise yet as just being out for several hours yesterday really tired me out. I cannot keep you ladies going on this challenge though. You have to do this with out me prodding you! I have a few other things to deal with at the moment. I hope you are just busy and not slacking off. Right Amy? I think that pilates class would have weirded me right out! I am not putting my hands on anyone's pelvis of butt.

Renee, come do my chores. Your list makes me tired!

Phoebe. Welcome and how nice to have you join us. I'm here sort of sporadically at the moment after being in the ER Sunday/Monday and am trying to feel better. Sorry I missed your post last night, but I am welcoming you this morning.

Lwyr, the doc thinks my issue is diet related and said I can exercise and go back to work when I feel up to it. I don't quite understand how I can have this condition and not have the heartburn but she's the doc and I'm not. She said she has people with this condition that the only symptom they present is a cough! Go figure, huh? Good exercise for you btw!

Everyone else, please get some exercise and post it.

linda, i'm just piddling at work and saw that you had written this morning. i am glad that you are feeling better.
i have GERD too, but i have plenty of heartburn. if you don't feel comfortable with the diagnosis, ask for a second opinion. sometimes docs jump to conclusions based on the latest health fad. but either way make sure and take that tummy meds b/c if it is GERD adn you don't keep it incheck it can cause scar tissue onyour esophagous and close it off (i speak from experience).
get some rest, i'll try to play drill sargent til you get back in motion...amy

So, it looks like there is a temporary new sherrif in town, huh? LOL Ok, Amy, I will do what you say...LOL

Well,(in the words of the infamous Dr. Evil) "It's friggin freezing Mr. Bigglesworth!" Yesterday we hit 80 degrees, today in the 30's with the most nasty cold wind you ever felt. Makes you just want to curl up in front of a fire and sip hot cocoa (sugar free, of course) I can't stop thinking that today is Friday. Kids are officially on Spring Break starting now. That means maybe an extra hour or two shut eye in the mornings for me. Yippee! I went to lunch with my mom, and was very good. I had the steak and portobello mushroom ww meal from applebees for 7 points. I am certain that they sprinkle some sort of fiber supplement on that stuff, because my tummy has been grumbling at me since lunch.

Haven't done any exercise today yet. I know, I know, what am I waiting for? an invitation...LOL I will walk on that tm this evening, after I cart dd's butt to dance...I promise.

Pheobe, welcome to the party!

Linda, glad you feel better.

Amy, what can I say? Good work as usual and I am glad your infection is responding to treatment. Unfortunately, today was another day I couldn't get in to comment in your journal entry. Sigh. I just hate that.

Lwyr, good work too! I agree with your take on the weekends. I just need to celebrate life a little less often, because as you see, my ticker hasn't budged in a long time...sigh....thanks for your continued support, as always!

ok, that is it for now. I need to get us all some kind of dinner type food, because soon I will need to be off to the dance studio...a day in the life....LOL

well renee, i get to be the new sheriff b/c i have channeled Linda. I don't know if this forum can stand two of us (lol) i am glad you had a good lunch with your mom. wtg on the meal choice! If you don't get in any formal exercise i think you probably burn quite a few calories shivering in the cold...bbbrrrr.
it's suppose to turn cold here this weekend too but no snow, just temps down to around 30.

just reporting my exercise for today:45 min of strength (weights) and an hour and 15 minutes if cardio. btw i guess mr no life has lost steam, he didn't come in at all today. i hope he's not really sick since i made all the jokes about it. i would sure feel bad.
well hope everyone else got their exercise in and if not try again tomorrow.
have a good nights rest, it is just as important as exercise...amy

Hi chickies! Linda, I'm glad you're feeling slightly better, and I hope that GERD isn't their "final" diagnosis. We'll definitely be picking up the pace- and you know what? I'll do an extra 30 minutes in your honor. Just rest, try not to gurgle and fizz too much, and when you get the all clear, we'll be ducking the prod again in no time.

Last night I never got to post, having run out of night before I ran out of things to do. I did a light night- 15 minutes on the bike, and then a lot of stuff around the house. The weekend events were shifted to Sunday, so that gives me an extra day to get stuff done, and only 1 day to have to travel, and deal with outside food that I have to mentally plan & calculate for. But, I'm ready for it. Tonight, I did 40 minutes on the bike. So 30 + 15 + 40 = 85, and now I'm committed to 230. Tomorrow night will be my first attempt back at the WATP with this burned area. It's at least not so hot to the touch anymore, and I keep putting vitamin e cream on it, and noxema, to take the heat and sting out of it at night. I've been exercising like the little Coppertone girl from the ad, with undies tucked down slightly, to keep them from rubbing the area. If knee lifts stretch the burned skin too much (and that's really the only motion that will aggravate it) then I will do kicks and side steps there instead. I need to keep things switched up, and challenging.

Ok, time to unload and put away groceries- hubby ran out while I was still on the bike, and now I have to do my part.

Personal notes tomorrow, since my morning should be less hectic than it has been this week. Humpity day...almost over- weekend is in sight!

What a great thread! I'm a newbie to this site, but I would love to join in here. I've really been trying to hit my goal of 60 minutes of exercise a day, but it's been a little slow this week. Hopefully participating in this thread will keep me more on track.

To catch up, Sunday I did about 20 minutes of walking, Monday 30 minutes at Curves, Tuesday 30 minutes of jogging, and today 30 minutes at Curves.

Tomorrow morning I do an hour and a half of yoga, and if I'm really motivated maybe I can do another run as well. We'll see!

Exercise for today was a measley 20 minute walk. Better than nothing considering the migraine I had....urgh I hate migraines. Got one horse out for a 30 minute grooming session also so I guess I did do something today.

Hope everyone is well today!!

Default Gone for awhile

Wow...seems like I've missed alot. Well, DH is better. Still sore., But nothing like we were expecting. The car on the other hand is a diferent story. Nothing from the other insurance company yet. They keep giving DH some BS Hopefully today we'll hear SOMETHING good.

All my great plans for exercise this week are shot. Can I blame DH??? Tuesday, though, I did go to yoga. Do I count all 90 minutes? Because some of that time we're just sitting and breathing. Either way, I did come home and do at least 90 minutes of yard work. Raking stones out of the yard, and then raking out the ditches that were full of leaves and sticks. Wow...that was a lot harder than I thought it'd be. I am SO counting that. I'll say yoga was 60 minutes, and then another 90 for the yard. So I need 50 minutes for the week. I did clear out the studio yesterday...lots of lifting and moving. Can I count that ? Oh, I know it doesn't count. LOL...I was too sore to PUSH Mike yesterday...so what do I do??? Do the lifting in the studio. I need my head examined!!

Renee...we have snow too!!!!! Around 2-3 inches Hope all the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are OK. And from my own experience...DH take their sweet ol' time apologizing...if they ever do..LOL. Boys are stupid!!

I need to catch up with everyone else...

Linda, glad you're feeling a little better. You're always going, going. Enjoy the break...I'm sure your kitty is loving it!!!

Lwyr...Tag...your it!!! Ahh, pretty dresses. I don't think I even own a dress!! Maybe one, but I've never worn it. Not sure if it even fits . Hope you enjoyed your girly day!!!

Amy...um...I mean sheriff...I've been slacking. But I have an excuse. I know that's NO excuse. I'll try harder!!

Jennifer...nice trees. It is hard work doing that stuff!! I tilled a part of our yard, and looking at it, I thought, what's the big deal. It's such a small area!! Holy moly, I was sore for days after.

Hi! to everyone else I missed...sorry.

BIL is coming tomorrow. A last minute thing. Driving up from GA!! Amy, he lives in Mansfield. Near you? Anyway, I've totally torn apart three rooms in my attempt to clear out the clutter and reorganize. I desperately need to get the house back together before tomorrow around noonish. Besides BIL...think we might have friends(with DD's) coming, and possible MIL/FIL as well. Might do a big turkey dinner if we have the house full.

Sorry this is so long and rambling...been gone for awhile...missed hearing about all of you. I'll try and journal in a little bit. After I get one room all finished. LOL...hopefully I'll be back here soon!!

Had to put this guy in. He makes me laugh!!

Talking It's THURSDAY...which means...

...it's almost FRIDAY!

Good morning ladies. Didn't get a chance to post last night, but I did make it to the gym and get in 60 mins of cardio for 180 mins of cardio this week so far and 210 mins of total exercise. YIPEE. I do have to say, though, that yesterday I was quite nauseous and faint after my workout, which isnt a good thing. I don't know what caused it, but I think I may be overdoing it a bit. I also had a bit of pain in my chest that dissipated as soon as I removed my sports bra. DH says its ummm some medical term and I'm stressing the soft tissue because of too much working out. He wants me to take today and tomorrow off to let my body heal itself but what does he know - he's just a doctor.

I still brought my workout clothes with me to work tho...let's see how I feel. Maybe I won't do 60 mins, only 30? Let's see...

Renee, you know I'm here for ya! I actually haven't been to Applebee's in years - Dh and I love to go to Chilli's occasionally though - their southwestern eggrolls and paradise pie are soooo yummy. ...and their margaritas are rather enjoyable too Ok, now I'm hungry...lol. Hope the brunch prep is going ok and everyone is helping out with the last of the spring cleaning.

Linda, what's the health report? Doing better? I know you are just itching to get moving again, but seriously take it easy - you don't want to risk another episode like last Sunday.

Amy, enjoy porno pilates tonight. I was just waiting for someone to step up to drill sargeant role temporarily.

Jennifer, careful when you work out that burn area - don't want to exacerbate it. Good job on getting in your exercise. What are the wknd plans?

Deidre, WELCOME BACK! You need to get some dresses girl! I know you'll look just great in them. ...and yes, all that yard work definitely counts - sounds like a quite a workout!! Keeping my fingers crossed that you hear something good from the insurance companies today.

Phoebe, every minute counts! They all add up to goal - 200 mins. YOU CAN DO IT!

Ok, I GUESS I should work...

Hello ladies,

Stopping by for a quick update....

Yesterday, was sucky. I fought way to much with my kids. For good reasons though. I had those pms munches last night, and ate too many chips and guacamole.....and chocolate. And although I pormised, I never did get on that tm. Sigh. I need a kick in the butt here. LOL I woke up this morning to about a 1/2 inch of snow covering the ground. All the flowers are drooping and sad. It is like a whiteout outside right now....WTF? Most probably that damned lake effect crap. Oh well, you can't do anything about the weather....I am really beggining to think Al Gore has something there with the golbal warming thing....

Kids are home today, tomorrow and next week. I need to get some cooking done today and boil some eggs for coloring tomorrow. I never know if when I boil them, I am going to get an easy peeling egg or a shell stuck to the egg, egg....Believe me, I have tried every which way to boil the suckers....I heard it all depends on the age of the egg. Older eggs, actually are better for hard boiling...something about the membrane not being so tight against the shell...I bought mine the other day. I hope they weren't too fresh. Probably the only time I ever wished something wasn't too fresh from the store! LOL

Welcom to Lauren! Hope you like it here. Always nice to see new "faces."

Jenn, did I miss it? did you get sunburnt? Ouch. Take care of it. The best thing I have found for sunburn is this cream from a company called South Beach Sun, I think. I am all out, and only found it in SC, several years ago, but I actually think they are a Florida based company...so you may have it available to you. It has lidocaine in it and it works like nothing I have ever tried. This comes from a fair complected Northerner, so you know it must be good! LOL

Amy, I'm glad Mr. No life Exerciser isn't around . LOL Now you can win the contest without his stupidness getting in the way. Good moving! Expand on this porno pilates, I am curious! LOL

Pheobe, great job getting in the walk even though you had that ha. Migraines are the worst! Hope you feel better.

Lwyr, hope you are feeling better also. If dh says take it easy, you'd better listen to him. Even though I think it is good to challenge yourself, you HAVE to listen to your body too, and if it's telling you to take a bit of a break, then do it!

Deidre! Welcome back. I hope it all works out with that accident thing. That is so stressful. And I agree, that the yardwork counts, definately! Hey, good job getting it done before the snow! LOL

ok, to everyone, Have a wonderful holiday! Not sure I will have time to get back here the next few days, but I will be thinking about you all!

Much luv!

good evening girls! it seems like everyone's spirits are lifting some. that's good, i was starting to wonder if i was gonna have to come and visit everyone at give them hugs.
LInda, glad you are feeling better and i would definetly see a gi doc.
renee-porno pilates, well that is doing pilates with a prtner and help hold up their butts and pelvis' for support on some moves. thankfully tonighnt we just did regular pilates, no personal violations.
lwry: umm maybe you should listen to him, then again he's just an intern right? just kidding. both of your parents must be so proud of the both of you a lawyer and a doc in the same family. that's great. take it easy and get some rest, it's not a marathon.
takes2: as your freindly sheriff, i am letting you go with a warning...sometimes there are valid excuses. at least your back now, that's what counts.
Hope i haven't forgotten anybody, if so i will try to send som e warm fuzzies your way tomorrow.
so exercise for today was an hour and 15 minutes of cardio and the hour long pilates class. tomorrow is tae kwon sculpt. yay!!!
as i an writing this my eyelids are being held open with toothpicks so i will comment better tomorrow night, i hope.
btw--my current score for the contest is 20, mr. no-life:30. i am hoping he will burn out and slow down for the last couple of weeks and i can catch him. the trainers are starting to worry about him b.c he is working so hard. but i am not too worried yet, yes he's on the treadmill for 2 hours at a time, but he's got the belt moving at less than a mile an hour, he's just crawling, no straining or pushing himself. i am sure he'll be fine.
have a good nights sleep girlies and i will talk to you again tomorrow...amy

Happy Friday, everyone! Well, I did my hour and a half yoga yesterday and am planning on hitting Curves for 30 minutes today at lunchtime. No motivation to do anything outside because it is SO COLD. What a spring tease. Gorgeous weather and now I have to turn the heat on in my house again. It doesn't look like it's going to be much warmer this weekend but hopefully I'll have reacclimated to what is actually not terribly unseasonable weather and get outside to do some runs this weekend. Hope everyone is staying warm!

Less than an mile an hour? Geesh. That shouldn't even count! Even on my "slow, don't wanna do this days", when I think I am whimping out, I still do more than one mi an hour! Keep the steady pace, Amy. You have got the right approach...if a long distance runner gives it all hes got in the first few miles, he doesn't have enough endurance to get to the finish line. That is the right approach, I think!

Ok, for my day yesterday. Not so great again. The weather had me really bummed. I know I can't do anything about it, but geesh. I just craved comfort. Food was ok till night time. I baked for Sunday and sampled the goods too much. But I am done baking and that won't be a temptation any longer. I boiled eggs yesterday. I am noticing some of the shells are coming right off (I had a hb egg for breakfast today) and others are not(kids had some yesterday) ...WTF? I got the eggs all at the same time, from the same store. Hopefully, the ones I have set aside for deviled eggs will peel ok. If not, they will be some strange looking deviled eggs!

Good LUCK to lwyr today. She has to fill in at court. I am certain she will do fine...and I am awaiting to hear from her how it all went.

Ok, off to get something done around here...not much gets done while my butt sits infront of this computer...well, except that it is good for my soul! LOL
