Thin4Life - Week of Nov 20/06

  • Good morning, Lifers. It is chilly here today--in the 40's this morning. I was the only walker on the road early this morning (don't know why).

I held my garage sale on Saturday and it was so-so. I didn't make much money, but I met a lot of nice people. The last time I had a sale, folks were looking for baby items. My neighbor brought over some baby items to sell and not a sale asked about them! Go figure. The rest of the time was normal household chores and rehearsal for the upcoming play. We open on Thanksgiving. Some folks need to learn their lines quickly. The director told me he was very pleased with me, but I'm only 1 of 6 performers.

So, what are everyone's plans for day? DH and I were invited to a friend's house. It's sort of nice that I don't need to do so much cooking, except for what I'm bringing, but then we won't have any leftovers.

Friday will be the traditional shopping day; this year I'm going with a GF. Last year I went alone. I have a few people that I'm stumped on gifts. For some it gets harder every year. I've bought more online this year than last year, so much of the list is done.

My parents are getting a timeshare over the weekend about 90 miles from us, so DH and I will be going over there on Sunday to visit.
  • Hi Lisa,

Sorry for being out of touch. I have just been tired and sick and sick and tired.

Its time to see the doctor again.

As for Thanksgiving. They are descending upon our house, but my mom is doing all the cooking. Yeah!

I'm going to shop as well this weekend, but mostly at the bookstore and mostly on line and well, maybe a few things here and there. I am just not feeling particularily festive.

Our depressed homeless friend commited himself on Friday night, that pretty much put a damper on my mood. I am not ready to take on another battle and in a way I feel terribly guilty.

Hi to everyone, i promise to post and be happier tomorrow!

  • Good evening!

I'm on vacation all week so I'm taking advantage! The weekend was pretty uneventful--picked up the turkey and fixings (dinner is at my house). My great aunts (83/89 respectively) will be coming. The forecast is looking quite balmy for Thanksgiving with temps in the mid 50's! That'll be nice since DH and I usually go for an hour or so walk when the weather cooperates. I look forward to the activity and the time with him.

Today I went to the Wellness Center--walked and used the eliptical for 15 minutes! I found that if I listen to the TV with the transmitter that they have the time goes by much quicker and I'm not looking at how much more time I have to go or how far I've gone! Afterwards my GF and I went to the outlet mall (a little over an hour from here) and spent the day shopping and just having some "girl" time. It was great! I found a few great deals--got a nice fleece jacket (hot pink) for $12 that I can wear walking, a couple of t-shirts from the GAP and a nice pink ribbed turtleneck. Even treated myself to a "Sleigh Ride" latte from Gloria Jean's (white mocha with peppermint). I did ask for nonfat milk

I'm sure my legs will be sore tomorrow but I am planning on walking with my buddy from work over the lunch hour. I figure it'll help keep me on track.

Lala: I hope you start to feel better--it seems like this has been dragging on for you. There's nothing worse than not feeling 100%. I'm finally feeling more "myself" lately and I'm happy with that. My weight is still not coming down but I've come to the conclusion that I can't fight city hall, lol.

Lisa: It was cold here this morning--I saw a few flurries on my drive to Grove City but it didn't stick! The temps are supposed to start increasing tomorrow with highs in the 50's later this week. It's looking really nice!

I haven't really thought about Christmas shopping--I have ideas but haven't purchased anything other than a tote with a cardinal for my mom. I need to get on the stick with getting things done earlier. DH wants to put up Christmas lights this weekend and it would be a prime time to do it since the weather is going to be nice.

Hi to Susan, Julie, Pam! Hope everyone is doing okay! Will check in tomorrow!
