Hey there all.

great going Laurel. And Katie your numbers are also lookin' good! Myra your numbers look great too. I do hope you impacted tooth problem has been resolved.

Lala - you'll probably read this after the fact, but both the Boston and LA airports were EMPTY! Getting through from Boston was surprisingly easy. In fact to tell ya the truth I wished it had been more secure. Any how the flight was delayed 1 1/2 hours before taking off pretty much the average I hear. And those healthy munchies came in handy.

Glad to be back. Patch

This past week was a real struggle and point-wise it wasn't too bad. I'm struggling with BLT's and not getting my water in. Anyway, I was up 1.8# this week :( so my work is cut out for me.

Here's the numbers from this past week:

Wed: 18
Thu: 23
Fri: 25
Sat: 21
Sun: 22
Mon: 19
Tue: 21

Total points 149/22 average/144#

Melissa, your numbers look great. It has to be water retention. Drink down that water and I'm sure next week will be much better.

I don't know what to say about my weigh in. I knew it wouldn't be great as I didn't exercise all week, but according to my home scale I stayed the same or lost a half a pound. But at my meeting the scale said I gained 1.4 lbs. I am convinced it is because they got a new scale. Everyone's WI was lousy. I never saw such a room of long faces. But maybe I am just making excuses. I don't know. One thing was the WW scale was always about 2 lbs. lighter than my home scale. Now they are registering the identical weight. Well, in any case I am trying not to get too bummed. Today I went back to exercising at the gym and I plan to try to stay to the low end or middle of my range. I want a loss next week.

kt marie 09-20-2001 08:09 AM

Well, I gained .4 pounds last night. I am okay with it, since I did do some extra eating over the weekend & indulged in some wine as well. I have never gotten below 140.4, so this is when it gets tough for me.

Myra - don't worry about the gain - with getting your tooth extracted & the lack of exercise as a result (plus a new scale!), I'm sure you'll be back losing next week.

Melissa -sorry about the gain - it gets so hard to lose those last few pounds. I think I get lax about the BLT's as well - not writing them down like I should. Weekends are tough for most of us.

Thanks :-)

I know I shouldn't feel so bummed, but I've gotten used to having losses each week for the past few months. I guess this had to eventually happen, but I plan to try to make it just one blip on a general landscape of losses. At least I have to try.

patch30 09-20-2001 05:21 PM

Hang in there Myra. And it will be just a blip. You've been doing so great. And yes, it could be the WW scale. I remember once, my WW group's scales were recalibrated and I saw I had gained a pound! I was severely bummed. But within a couple of weeks, the new scale began to show the same steady (or not so steady)weight loss the "old" one showed.

LM 09-20-2001 06:51 PM

Myra, don't worry about it. Extraordinary circumstances last week, the tooth, etc. You're still moving ahead. Don't worry.

As a new "weigher", I have to tell you it's not as easy as it seems to get an accurate weight. At our WW meeting we have doctor's scales (not digital) and it is really hard to tell when you've gotten it to balance - at least within 1/2 pound. The darn pointer keeps swinging up and down, up and down. And I can tell the person on the scale is getting more and more nervous...yikes!
