  • Sometimes all it takes is one person or one thing to go wrong for us to feel badly about ourselves and the efforts that we make in our everyday life.

Sometimes someone say something so nice that you can feel good forever. What is the nicest thing someone has said to you lately to put a smile on your face for as long as you think about it?
  • I have a lot of weight to lose (over 100 lb) so I don't expect anybody to notice my recent 13 lb loss. However, I did get my hair cut in a new style last week and several people have mentioned how nice it looks and how it slenderizes my face. Probably where my weight loss is showing. lol Anyhow, the comliments made me feel good. I'd tried to grow it for a year thinking more hair would balance my round body but had only managed to get it long enough for a French twist in the back and I was really sick of it tickling my neck. When I told my hubby I was planning to get a bit of a trim he said "It's already short". That made me realize that my hair would never be long enough to suit him and I had wasted a whole year trying to please him by growing longer hair so I said to heck with it and had it chopped off. Made me feel 10 lb lighter and he hasn't even noticed the difference. MEN!!
  • Just yesterday I showed a new friend my before picture and she said she didn't recognize that picture as me!
  • all of this happened yesterday

my mother in law and dh's grand mother both said i look better than they've ever seen me look in the 5yrs me and dh's been together

    and

a complete stranger whistled at me on the road when me and dh's aunt were on our way to a ww meeting
    that total floored me
  • I was standing on line to rejoin WW & a woman behind me asked me how long did it take to reach my goal She made my day!
  • My husband andI have a very close relationship and after 20 years still very much in love, I know that sounds corny but together we lost over 40 lbs in 6 months and yesterday morning while getting dressed for work he said"Your butt is half as big as it used to be, I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry!!!!!!He is at his goal and mu best support team besides all of you.

  • Co-worker told me it was time I got some new pants! (She's right- they are literally hanging on me)
  • A friend took one look at me as I walked into Chuckie Cheese today with the kids and exclaimed- "YOU LOOK AMAZING!!!" And then later complimented my resolve of eating only salad.

Obviously made my day thanks for asking I really wanted to share that with someone.
  • A dear friend I hadn't seen in 10 years met up with me and my (to her) new husband while we were on vacation. She said not only did I look fantastic and glowing, but that she could see how much and why my hubby was in love with me. It meant the world to hear that.
  • Cin,
I am dong great! Thanks for asking. My nice thing was from my husband who said, "all men should have a wife like you" granted it was because he asked if he could go to Ierland with the boys to play golf for a week but still it made me feel good.

And someone I had never met before told me that she wished she had my body. That is one for the memory bank.

Thank to all of you who posted compliments should come more often.

  • I've lost 85#. Had to use my driver's liscense for ID - writing a check I think- and had the person question if it was me. I said yes, she said, "Man, you've lost alot of weight." To others it's an insult, to me, a compliment.

  • Hi everyone! Last night my daugther was talking to her father on the phone (my ex) and told him..."You should see Mom, she is getting skinny". That made me feel "great"!
  • Since reaching goal, I've have several compliments from people who don't see me that often, so that's nice to hear.

What really surprised me was when a younger guy (mid to late 20's) tried to pick me up (I'm 43). The guy was cute, but a jerk, told him NO WAY (I'm also happily married to a wonderful man), but it did feed my ego.
