Differences in weight of Cooked meat??

Does anyone have a list of meat and how much the weight changes from raw to cooked and from frozen to cooked?

chicken, fish, shellfish and steak are the main types of meat I'm looking for! Thanks for your help :)

I think it is one-quarter of the weight, 4 oz uncooked would be 3 oz cooked.

4 oz. uncooked usually become 3 ounces cooked if the meat is boneless. Shrimp and scallops lose a little more in the cooking so that 3 ounces becomes 2 ounces.

The previous replies seem accurate.I believe I have :"heard" most meat cooks down 25%!

One more question - When it says the weight of the meat on the box, is it talking about cooked or raw?? I know that it probably depends, but in general what have you noticed? I live in Canada and it doesn't state particulars like that. :(

It is assumed you will cook the meat before eating. The information is for the cooked weight.
