Lisa: Have a great time on vacation!! We'll miss you!

Just wanted to let everyone know that today I had a great WI...I was down 3#!!! I told my leader that any loss would be good but this was even better! I'm going to continue to get some more walks in throughout the day and see if that helps with the other 4# I'm hanging onto, hopefully that'll be enough to get things moving in the right direction.

There were just a handful of members at the meeting today--you can tell people are scrambling with getting things done before the school year starts, etc.

Have I told you that my DS #1 is looking at getting engaged this year? He showed me a ring that he's looking at--it was very emotional for me! We went out to dinner last night and had a nice time and I capped off the evening with a baby cone (lime sherbet). I've been wanting to get it but because it's the featured flavor the day before my WI I usually pass but I figured in a baby cone and it worked out great--just enough to satisfy my tastebuds!

So how's everyone else doing? The weather continues to be pleasant here--cool mornings and warm afternoons. It's been great!

Melissa excellent weigh in. You must be happy, you've been doing everything right so it's time you're rewarded! Awww I'm so happy for your son! Yes, I can understand you being emotional, I would be too. How long has he been dating? Do you like her? Give us some details!

Struggling with OP this week -- just too too much stress at work, things are getting just crazy busy, on top of the layoff rumors. :?: I will try to write more later. First day of school is tomorrow, so I might not have time to take a breather till the weekend. Just in case I am AWOL the rest of the week - Have a Great Weekend, Everybody!

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner last night. For the first time since I started WW, I didn't even THINK about counting points. I just enjoyed myself. Back to the grind today, though. Gotta stay on point!

lalala - We went to South Side Bistro. When we got married, there was only my husband and I, our parents and our witnesses. We had our little wedding reception at the Bistro and thought that would be a good place to celebrate the 10 year mark. It was wonderful, as usual! They even spelled out Happy Anniversary in chocolate around our dessert plates. LOL!

Good morning! It's back to hazy, hot & humid here for the weekend and with that we're supposed to be getting some much needed rain. I managed to get in 2 walks yesterday, before work and at noon, and accumulated 17,962 steps for the day!

DS #1 has been dating Melissa (yes her name is the same as mine!) for a year on August 17th. They started out as friends and did some things together before they started dating. I really like her a lot and they make a good couple; they balance each other out in a lot of ways. She has been over numerous times for dinner and just spending time with us.

Austingal: Wow school starts early! Classes here at the university start next Wednesday and DS #2 starts back on Aug. 31st. The summer seems to just fly by. I hope things balance out for you at work--it's got to be hard not knowing.

Liz: I'm glad you had a nice anniversary. Sometimes you just need to set aside the counting of points for special occasions. The trick is getting right back on track the next day.

Lala: I'm happy with the loss and have some renewed motivation to keep up with the walking. It may be what I need to get things moving.

Okay, will post later, but must share that last night DP found a stray old cocker spaniel wandering on the arterial near our house.

She rescued him, I called his peeps, they must be out of town (they live about 8 miles south of here) and this morning I took him to his vet where they know what meds he needs etc.

He was such a sweet boy and Ernest was very good. Let this be a lesson to you all who let your friends take care of your pets, please call your vet and tell your vet the name of your dog sitter.

I don't know what I would do if was Ernest or Jacques.

Hi ladies,

I had a very good weigh in this morning, down 1 1/2 lbs!! I attribute the loss to all of the terrific locally grown veggies I've been eating and becoming more diligent about exercising. Even when the weather has been too hot to walk outside, I've been walking indoors on the treadmill. So, that's the good stuff I've been doing for my body...now for the bad, I started tanning in anticipation of my upcoming trip to Hawaii. Honestly, I'm 44 years old and this is the first time I've ever been to a tanning salon. I have a VERY light compexion and thought if I could get a little color I wouldn't have to worry as much about the sun when I go away next month. Well, I've been tanning for 3 weeks and people are just beginning to notice. I probably should have started a little earlier at the rate I'm going.

Melissa your son's girlfriend sounds perfect for him! The weather here has been nice but it looks like we're getting rain on Sunday.

Lala that pup is fortunate that your DP rescued him, the poor thing. Safe travels this weekend.

Liz your anniversary dinner sounded just perfect. Congrats on 10 years that's awesome.

Austin sorry work is still causing so much stress...no word yet on the layoffs? First day of school for my daughter is August 29th. I can't believe how quickly this summer went by.

You know the phrase "Stop and smell the roses"? Well, I think a better one would be "Stop and smell the brownies"! Lily had a brownie this afternoon and I couldn't help it, I just had to stand there and smell it - took a good 'ol wiff, savoring that yummy, chocolatey smell with all of my being. How insane is that?

I'm having another really difficult day today. I wonder if all of this is from my anniversary dinner and not counting points for the day, or if it's something else. I weighed myself this morning and I'm up 2 lbs. <sigh> I just don't get it. I've made my goal. Why is it still so dang hard? I should be enjoying things now, not worrying.


lalala - I'm so glad your DP was able to help that puppy. What a shame the caregiver wasn't keeping a better eye out.

McHoney - I, too, am very pale. I've found that self-tanners (good ones) are a big help in that area.

Take a deep breath, realize that you have come a long way, take a longer walk tomorrow, stay away from that brownie and that weight will come off.

As for tanning, I stopped doing that last year. I'm a self tanning girl now and since I started laser hair removal on my sideburns and chin (ooh TMI), I started wearing lots of sunscreen.

For my travels, I purchased the l'oreal self tanning towelettes. I'll post how they work for you all.

Sigh, such is the life of a frequent traveller.

Sitting in the lounge right now, drinking a latte and seeing if my flight is delayed, at least my upgrade cleared.
