Carbs to Calories?

My mom recently bought an exercise bike that tells you how many carbs you have burned. She's more interested in how many calories she's burned though. Is there any way to convert carbs to calories? I've been looking around for some information on it, but I haven't been able to find anything. Please let me know; it would be a great help!! Thanks!

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories (kcal)

I don't know that anything can truly tell you how many carbs you've burned without medical testing. the other thing is on the 'calories burned' the machines are only a guestimate because unless you can plug in many factors (and how intense it is for you) it is only a guess.

When you exercise you burn fat and build muscle....hard to burn just carbs....
