How many points allowed per day?

Hi. The old book I had says 22-29 points per day for someone 194 pounds. Is that the current requirement? I've lost my points calculator, but have my little points book I will try to get by on. I decided to try it on my own. I'm desperate. I'm at an all time high with my weight. I was down to 164 a couple years ago. I need to do something quick.
Should I stay near 22 points to get the fastest results?
Thanks.

My little book says 22 - 27 points for your weight of 194. Its my understanding that eating at a lower point level won't necessarily increase your weight loss; it depends on how you metabolize food, etc.

I tend to set my "goal" for the day as no more than 2 pts above minimum, and then exercise if I plan to consume more. I figure that motivates me to exercise which has to be good. ;)

My experience has been it's better to vary your points but make sure you get at least your minimum points in. A couple other tips would be to make sure you drink your water and try to get at least 20 minutes of exercise in. I usually walk as this is easy to fit in during the day.

Good luck!
