Default Points or Core

Hi everyone,
I need a little advice and I hope you can help me. I want to start WW but do not know which plan. I know it is a preference but I wanted to know what plan you like best and why.Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been doing so bad on my diet it is terrible and I need to get back on track YESTERDAY.
Thanks so much

My personal feeling is that a person should do a combination of both the programs. Food on the Core list are heartier, healthier and tend to fill you up on less but Flex has the accountability of learning what a normal portion is.

I use mainly what foods are designated as Core for at least 90-95% of my diet and follow points for portion control. It is what keeps me satisified.

My suggestion is if you are unsure what normal portions are then do points for a couple weeks utiliing real foods not processed junk and then try Core for a couple weeks. Then you can truly decide which is better for you and your lifestyle.

One other note is I find it much easier if I am dining out a lot during a week for Flex to make the program easier to do. But that is just my opinion.

Since I'm just starting out, I am on the flex plan. I needed that accountability. And I needed small changes. (Yes, I've been under my points goals, but they haven't been the healthiest foods!)

I figure I'll slowly make the changes! One step at a time, one change a week.

As Kelly S said, I plan on eventually (within a few weeks) eating most of my foods off the "core" list, but still counting points.

I also do flex points just because it gives me more freedom. I know that the negative side of it could be that people eat all "empty" calories and nothing nutritious. I tend to gravitate towards more healthful foods anyway, just because it satisfies me more and makes me feel better physically (no sugar cravings, no energy crashes, no hunger).

Kelly_S has a very good point, maybe you should try both. The portion control on flex is definitely an eye opener for most of us. It's truly shocking to find out what a "serving" actually is and what we're used to calling a serving... which is probably like 4 times more!

Whatever you decide, just make sure it's a plan you can "live" with. If you're serious about losing the weight and keeping it off you have to realize that this isn't a temporary fix, this is going to be your life from now on.

Best of luck to you, we're all here to support you, so if you have any questions, just ask!
