Need points advice

I just started WW a week ago and I've lost 4.8lbs, which I think it pretty good. My only question is I work two nights out of the week from 5:45pm to 5:45am and when should I stop eating? When does the new points day end? Is anything past 12 midnight count as a new day:?: ? Also I get really bored on the job and feel like I need to snack a bunch, any solutions or suggestions? Thanks for the help.

I count my days as ending when I go to sleep. That simplifies matters greatly when I have weird hours (I have insomnia issues sometimes).

Congratulations for discovering that boredom is an eating trigger for you! First of all, I would try and find some way to relieve the boredom OTHER than eating - are there other tasks or duties you can assume? Can you do exercises? Crossword puzzles?

For eating, I highly recommend finding low-calorie snacks and premeasuring them, if need be. I just divided an entire bag of Baked Ruffles into ziploc baggies a few days ago and have been pulling them out one bag at a time without worries (only 2 pts).

Also make sure that you're getting enough protein at meals. Protein helps keep you full longer, which is why I'm always starving 2 hours after I have cereal for breakfast but can eat a late lunch without complaint if I have eggs.

And make sure that you're drinking all your water. Water will make you feel fuller.

Some favorite low-calorie snacks of mine:
Baby carrots (0 pts, sweet AND crunchy, just don't overindulge)
Sugar-free popsicles (0 pts depending on brand)
Nabisco 100 cal snack packs (2 pts, cookies and crackers, prepackaged)
WW snack bars (usually 1-2 pts)
Hershey's Caramel Kisses (.5 pt each, tastes like a mini candy bar)
Yoplait Light yogurt (2 pts, yummy flavors, fulfills a milk)

I count points from when I get up until I go to sleep.

Start the clock when you want

I think that from when you wake until when you sleep is a good rule.

I did attend a ww meeting once where a member said that she counted her points starting at 5pm until the next 5pm. She did this as she realized that she could easily get by with eating little at breakfast & lunch, but ate more in the evenings & went out to dinner. If she ate a big dinner, and she only had a few points left, she could get by with veggies and low point options in the morning and afternoon.

I'm the opposite! I could have 0 point veggie soup or salad for dinner, but I like to eat more in the am and lunch. I do go to bed, early, however.

Good luck!

For the times when you feel like you need to eat or snack at work....try a cup of hot green tea with splenda and a tru lemon packet. The hot liquid will make you feel full and keep your mouth busy sipping, and the sweetness gets rid of the sweet craving.
