Argh. I'm here, just not very peppy.
you can read about here. www.floraandflying.blogspot.com the positive thing is that I am doing okay on the eating thing and exercising and I think I can even do okay while galavanting a week from today in Paris, Rome and London. I'll feel even better if I can come back a lb or two lighter like in the old days. Everyone sounds super busy. Susan - I have to say that you should back out if it is uncomfortable, trust me, its a buyer's market right now. Austin - I'm hoping your bro is on the road to good health. Whew. Everyone else, I think of you! Oh, I also thought of Laurel (remember her?) today when I was adding vegetable peels to my worm bin. She would be proud, there are lots of wigglers. lala |
Hi everyone! The weather here is calm but the forecasters are calling for snow and a possibility of lake effect. It all depends on the winds.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that my dad's test (Upper GI) didn't show anything so now they've scheduled a lower GI for Dec. 12th. My mom talked to the doctor and they did say it could be caused from him taking the Plavix and the baby aspirin. We'll see. I went to my meeting yesterday and was down 1.4# from my last WI, which is good. TOM should be gone next week so I'm hoping to be down a little more. We have our university party on Saturday but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Lala: I know that sometimes even though everything is going the way I want it to I still am not in the "right place" and it can be so frustrating! Just keep plugging away, eventually things will come together. Use some mental rehearsing and see yourself coming back lighter--you know it can happen because you've done it before. I talked to the instructor who ran our trip to London and he said that possibly next year (2007) they may be going to Paris. Lisa: Isn't that the way it always goes when it comes to having extra expenses--you get one thing taken care of and another crops up. I hope it's not too costly for you. It sounds like you've got a lot going on the next few weeks. Susan: I'm with everyone else--if the sale doesn't feel right don't move ahead. I've learned to trust my instincts. I'm glad you feel productive with the counselor and M--it's a good place to be! Austin: I've lost my motivation at work as well. We're heading into the final 2 weeks of classes; it seems like the semester just started! This time of year I have a hard time focusing on what needs to be done. Pam: I don't have anything decorated either. Tomorrow we may put up our office decorations. I like to wait until December and that way I'm not tired of them by Christmas. I agree, the stores are starting way too early! |
I don't know what happened to me last night, but I woke up at 4 AM and started thinking about the holidays and all I had to do. I've done all of the holiday stuff before, so I don't know why I was ruminating about it. It was very annoying. I actually enjoy Christmas. This year my shopping is done. I need to start my baking and Christmas cards. The party invitations are starting to roll in, but that's all fun. So what's up with me?
Melissa, lake effect is always fun with your weather. Glad about your dad, but sorry to hear he needs more tests. lala, I do envy you going to Paris and Rome. Austin, how's your brother? |
Whoops, forgot to congratulate Melissa on the loss--terrific!

way to go Melissa.
It is snowing here, not really sticking, just made it kind of crazy at lunch at the grocery store, like we're having a blizzard or something. I could go home and curl up with a good laptop and get my first planning paper done. :) That would be cool. lala |
Hi everyone,
TGIF, I think. Foods thought out for the day. DP scored a 3.32 lb chicken organic and free range from the store that was mislabeled as a 1. lb chicken, so we had a very expensive cheap chicken last night for dinner roasted with a yummy sauteed perpetual spinach. Tonight I'm going to make chicken a la king with its remains and then stock. I wanted divan, she wanted a la king and since she's the uber patient one these days, she wins. I just found a thing of broccoli florets in the freezer today, so it'll get disguised somehow in our meals of the weekend. :) I have a gyno appointment today, is that exciting or what? At least I can leave three hours early as its at 3:15 today on the other side of the lake. Wed. is my six month follow up mammo, that I am dreading. Got a bunch of my essay thought out and outlined, DP did a bunch of rolling last night and tonight she gets the easy stuff - sugar cookie dough. She is fabulous for being a trooper. We decided to not get a tree until we get back, it was just getting to be too complicated with her leaving for BOS tomorrow (out and back) and then leaving a house with a tree in it for 10 days. What is everyone doing this weekend? I hope something fun. lala |
Hi Ladies,
It's a cold snow flurrying morning here. The second snow of the season, the first was on Thanksgiving Day which accumulated to about 3 inches. Snow is pretty, but I really hate winter...so long and dreary. Anyway, I must leave the office early today to attend a sports banquet at my daughters school. She is so excited to be getting her soccer award. Unfortunaltey, as with most school functions there will be a spaghetti dinner. Ah...too many carbs, I'll try to keep it light. Not much planned for the weekend will probably put up the outdoor Christmas decorations. I think the tree will go up on the 10th. I should try and get some Christmas shopping done. DD wants an ipod. lala I hope you're feeling better. I popped over and read your blog... wise decision to hold off on the tree until after you get back. Is your cookie making party an annual event? Sounds like a lot of fun. Good luck at the doctor's office today. Lisa I hate it when I wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking about all kinds of things. Even the smallest of worries seem larger when your thinking about them at night. I really envy you being done with your shopping. Melissa Congrats on the loss. Enjoy your party on Saturday. Hi to Susan and Austin hope you both have a nice weekend. |
Hi from the snowy northeast! It was pretty nasty this morning when I came into work and right now we have a little reprieve. We're supposed to get another 5-8" before it's done. I'm hoping the roads aren't slippery when I leave at 4:30 today.
Lisa: I've woken up a couple of times this past week and thought about what needs to be done and worrying about when I'm going to fit it in. In the end everything gets done and what doesn't nobody misses. Lala: Not my favorite place to go but then I'd rather go there and the dentist  Our tree won't be put up until the weekend of the 16th. Next weekend I'm in Chicago. Pam: More snow is on the way...I don't like the long days of winter either *sigh* Nothing major planned for the weekend other than our university party. I'm hoping to get a little shopping done over the weekend. Other than that it should be quiet. I need to work on some odds and ends at home. Happy Friday! |
Hi there. On Saturday I'm headed to a huge shopping mall a couple hours from here with a busload of women!! It should be a lot of fun. On Sunday I have a concert (our first Christmas-theme one). Next weekend we have 4 more bookings and a bunch of parties. 'tis the season.
I hope to get our tree on Sunday night. I'm putting up the other decorations little by little rather than in one fell swoop (don't have time). lala, I'm so envious that you've got your dough started. Melissa and Pam, sorry about the snow. Just be careful. |
Lisa - I thought you did all your shopping already!
:D Melissa - stay safe out there. In our major blizzard (less than an inch in the hills, DP decided to take the steepest way home yesterday to see how the XC would handle. It was fine, but honestly, I can do without winter blizzard 2005 in Seattle - one flake and the schools shut down. |
