July 4th Challenge

I know that I am a little nervous about the 4th of July because it is just around the corner and that is a huge party day for me. We have a big neighborhood BBQ and I wanted to know if anyone else is dreading that day and wants to share some ideas or set a challenge for themself for the day.

I know that I would like to stay with my points range (or use a few banked points), drink all of my water, and try to not overdue it that day. :dizzy: Let me know if you have any plans for that day.

:) Melissa

Melissa,
I know what you mean. THe fourth can be a loooooong day of eating. This is what I am doing. I am bringing nofat hot dogs and lite hot dog buns for the barbecue. I am also making the pineapple angelfood cake. It's well worth the 3 points a serving.
I may bring a ffrefried bean dip and WOW! chips, or some fruit. I will definitely eat veggies before I go so that I arrive satisfied and not starving. We can do this.
Good luck!

My in-laws are having a picnic so I'll try to bank some points so that I can indulge a little. I usually try to plan ahead. One of the things I have learned since being a WW member is that nothing is off-limits, you just have to be reasonable about portion sizes, etc. If I really want something I take just a little in order to satisfy my tastes.

When we've had family picnics before I took a cooler with diet pop, water, and a couple of light beers...that way I was able to know what I had drank and when I had used my allotted points (light beer).
