Yea..I think I saw it on the success story board I think...it just kinda rubbed me wrong b/c I know for a fact (b/c I did this previously when I joined WW) that the only way you WW is a waste of money is if you waste it. The first time I did the program I ate whatever..went over my pts daily and just gave up after 4 weeks when I wasn't losing. This time around I am doing it the right way and it is working.

This is sort of off the topic, but I want to go to your meetings if the books are that cheap! We're not a part of international, we're a smaller franchise and the complete food guide is $10 and the dining out guide is $9. You can't buy anything unless you are a member. So there would be no way to get a $2 slider. So for us ebay is cheaper.

My personal experience with Weight Watchers was back in the late 80s, and I lost about 40 pounds with the program. I decided that I would do it on my own and save a little money by stopping the meetings. It didn't take long before I fell back into my old habits and regained my weight, plus some. I realized that the key to my success with WW was not in the diet plan, but in the support meetings to keep me motivated and on track. So I think it's worth it to pay and attend the meetings.

I used to do Weight Watchers in the past with friends from work. I was loosing 1-2 pounds a week and after the first few days it was routine and easy. But when my friends decided they wanted to quit "paying to weigh in" and just do it on their own I quit too to save money. Needless to say I fell off and weigh alot more now. I knew I wanted to start weight watchers for the new year so I went to a meeting last week and I thought I'll go to one meeting get the stuff and do it on my own. I did sit thru the entire meeting so I could see what changes weight watchers made. Not too many. The core plan thing is new to me. But after sitting thru the meeting I knew I was going to buy the season pass. I really need those meetings. Last year the doctor told me my chlosteral results and wanted to put me on meds. I said lets give it some time so I could lose weight. My co-pay on Lipitor would be sky high. I'm afraid of facing my physical this month. But at least I can say I've joined Weight Watchers, lets give it some time now. I'd rather spend the money on weight watchers meeting then on Lipitor!

Hi...
Yes...I absolutely think WW is worth the money!!!!! I've lost 70 pounds on the program since late February and I have found it to be the best and easiest weight loss plan out there...and believe me..I've tried em' all!!! I do the WW online which I believe is quite a bit cheaper than going to the actual meetings. Also..like some people have mentioned...you can always just buy the start up stuff and do it on your own. I love WW...it is a wonderful and realistic way of dieting....and actually..I don't even think of it as a diet...it's not so strict like some plans...it's something that you can actually live with..u know. Anyways..I've babbled on long enough.....good luck to you...I hope you give it a try and I'll be there cheering you on the whole way...
hugs,
olivia

I just joined WW yesterday. :) Our meetings are $11.00 a week, and they offered free registration if you paid for the month, so that's what I did. For me, it's worth it. :) We eat out, a lot. We spend around $11.00 whenever we go to Starbucks.

I did pay for the starter kit, which included the books, points slider, food diary, and organizer bag. It is definately worth it to me to have spent that extra money to have everything at my fingertips. :)
