Lisa -- I'm going to check out this new storm. Very much sucks.

Melissa -- I can feel your pain, but remember it is just a number and sometimes scales are off and if your clothes fit, then that should be your test.

You can rant all you want.

I was just told that I am moving offices to a smaller one with one more person. I am not pleased... I am soo not pleased. I am soo really prissed right now. I'm actually going to tell my boss that this will not work for me. It may work for him, but it isn't going to work for me.

Sigh. I started to look at jobs today...

Melissa, that is so frustrating when you know that you have been following the plan and then have a gain. It just doesn't make sense--bad karma, if you ask me.

Hi everyone,

Grey here. I have the end of a migraine, it is killing me, but I'm at work trying to finish up a map. I am hoping to go home in an hour and collapse on my bed.

I have had a crappy week at work, but I think its helping me rein in the eating.

I hope everyone else is doing better than me.

It's finally Friday. Looks like a damp foggy Thanksgiving weekend is in store for us. I don't really mind; I can find plenty to occupy my time since I will be back in my own home. DH leaves for Italy tomorrow for a month.

lala: Sure hope you're feeling better today. That office thing sucks doesn't it. Environment can have a huge impact on productiveness; I'm surprised that organizations still don't get that.

Melissa: I feel your frustration. Stick with it. It could be water retention or something as equally benign. I'm sure it will be gone next week. But yes, I can understand your reaction. I'd be the same.

Lisa: So far, I'm using machines at the gym, but I think I'll incorporate a few exercises with free weights in my next workout. I like working with iron :wl:

I am curious to see what the scale says tomorrow. I have been fairly good in terms of points, but the real difference this week was exercise. That may not result in a loss, but I feel smaller, and that's helping to keep me motivated.

Have a great weekend. Monday is our Thanksgiving, but I may check in from home.

Good morning! It's pretty dismal here today--effects from Tammy from what I heard. Temps have cooled considerably since yesterday (80)--it's only 59 and it's supposed to get cooler as the day progresses along with more showers. Good day to stay home in bed!

I'm plugging along and trying not to dwell on this past week and so far it's been going pretty well. I managed to get out and get some walking in yesterday and on Wednesday evening I mowed our lawn (it's huge) so I'm not just sitting around. I'm writing down everything and trying to work on the 8 healthy guidelines.

No major plans for the weekend. DH has a rugby game on Saturday and as long as it's not raining I'll head up the field and watch. I may even take advantage and walk around the block few times to get some extra exercise!

Susan: Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving! I wish the states celebrated ours the same time--it makes more sense. Good for you in staying motivated!!! Keep up the great work! Enjoy the long weekend :)

Lisa: Has your weather cooled any? I hope so!

Lala: Has the headache subsided? I've had some bad headaches and they're no fun. This week at work has been pretty quiet--the only busy thing has been our pedometer and WW programs we're getting started. I'm looking forward to a short week next week!

Pam: How're things in your neck of the woods? Did Lauren's and your doctor appointment go well?

Austin: Hi!

Hi Ladies,

The weather is still warm and sunny but the rain is coming in tonight and looks like through the weekend. I guess we can blame Tammy for that. Not too much planned. Going to dinner tonight with DH, my sis and her DH. Tomorrow in to the salon for a cut and color. Unfortunately, I have to work on Monday.
Last night I was driving home from work and was hit from behind by a big Ford SUV. I thought my little VW Passat was going to have major damage but ended up with only a little scratch and dent. I really was quite fortunate. The man who hit me was very nice and apologetic. Seems he was talking on his cell phone and not paying attention to the road. In CT it is now the law that if you are not using a hands free headset and get pulled over you will be cited. Should be the same in MA. I think cells are the cause of many accidents.

Melissa The doctor's appt were OK. Had to go for the annual exam and unfortunately the doc found a small lump in my breast. It has been painfull lately and he is pretty sure it is nothing to be too concerned about but did schedule me to go for a mammo the week after next. He also instructed me to cut back on the caffeine intake which he thinks may be part of the problem.

Susan congrats on feeling "smaller" ! That is a very nice feeling. I agree with Melissa, having Thanksgiving now is a much better time of the year...spreads the holiday season out more.

Lala I hope your migraine is gone..those can be brutal. That is really crummy regarding the smaller office space. You should start looking around for a new job...your current employer doesn't deserve to have someone as good as you! I've also been considering a Siamese. My neighbor has 2 of them that visit us quite frequently. They seem to have a lot of personality. My daughter however is lobbying for a chihuahua. I think all the celebrities (Paris Hilton) with these breeds are the influence.

Lisa I also believe in chiropractic care. Have been seeing my chiropractor for years. Are you working today or do you have a long weekend?

Well ladies I hope you all have a nice weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving to Susan. Will talk to you on Monday.

lalala 10-07-2005 01:42 PM

Pam -- get the siamese and get a big dog. You want a dog that you can find in case of an emergency.

I am glad you are okay. I would be scared speechless after that sort of accident. I am beginning to think people should not be able to to talk on the phone or drink coffee while driving, let alone do both.

Melissa -- I'm hoping that things get better for you and your eating. You are amazing to me in your dedication and maintenance to WW. It must be getting beautiful up your way with the fall colors.

Susan -- Happy Thanksgiving. Are you going to see your family at all? The iron pumping is a good thing. I found that when I was very angry laps in the pool were also good, the whacking on the water is quite soothing.

Lisa -- any fun plans this weekend? How are you feeling?

Well, we have one more office option that would give me the same amount of room and move me in with the person whose job I'm transitioning and who I am often asking questions of, so that may be better for all. I did go home yesterday and that was good. I also felt better enough to go see Julie Powell give a reading from her book Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen . It was worth getting out of bed for....

Any great plans for the weekend?

Well, lifers, I've been at an offsite meeting for a day and a half regarding a study contract that we are working. It was way over my head, but I know that it would be an interesting program to win.

I'm doing a little better today. Went for a short run, but the darn leg is hurting again. Went to the chiropractor and he said that it will take time to heal.

It is raining again today. I am so sick of rain!!! Tammy left and now we have some disturbance that came up from the southern Gulf of Mexico. Melissa, it's still in the 80's here.

I'm really bummed about this weather because tomorrow morning is a big 5K Walk to cure Breast Cancer. The leader of our team is a breast cancer survivor. She had hoped for six walkers and $1,000 raised. We have 12 walkers and $3,000. I was hoping for a pretty sunny day, but I don't think I'll get it.

Tomorrow night a friend is having me and DH over for dinner to celebrate his birthday. Then on Sunday, another friend is having us over for DH's birthday. Hey, how come he gets to celebrate twice??

There is a craft show near here (I will probably walk there) if it's not raining. I may also go to the flea market to look around. Sometimes the people watching is the most fun.

Pam, I hope you are all right. That is so scary. These people who drive and talk at the same time--Grrr. It's so dangerous. I wish we had the CT law down here, too.

lala, glad that migraine is gone. My GF gets those and they are awful. The book sounds interesting.

Susan, that will be nice to go back to your house. I'll bet you miss it. I've always enjoyed free weights over the machines. It makes me feel stronger.

Anyone know what happened to Austin?
