September -Laboring onward and downward!
Howdy ladies!!
Welcome to the new gals that have found our thread. (waves enthusiastically) Jeanne, all ya have to do to start a new thread is push that wee button on the ww 100 forum that says, "New Thread". I bet you can start a really, really fun one! Sorry I"ve been MIA. I got sucked in to a forum about concrete sculpture that I really want to try. Promised myself that I absolutely have to finish painting my den first. But, I hate being a fat girl on a ladder. It makes all those lower body parts hurt. KK, soon as I finish this post, I put the clothes in the dryer, turn off the sprinklers, and open that paint bucket. I spent the Labor Day weekend out of town. Had a huge walk-a-thon on Saturday, but the rest of the time was more of an eat-a-thon. Grrrr. I have GOT to lose some of this weight. The old knees just ain't gonna hold up forever. KK, goal of 5 lbs for September. Saw a slogan that says, " A goal without a deadline is just a dream ". Oh boy. So, I have another goal to finish this stinking paint job this week. Which is actually a big deal, cuase I promised my ex-boss I would work on Friday (all-day) and it turns out my welding class is all day Saturday (gotta remember to pack a nice lunch the night before) so that leaves me Wed., Thurs,.Sun., and today!! Then I can do more than just dream about the sculpture ideas that are running thru my wee brain. Barb, where are you, doll? Seems like the dentist abducted you!! Jeanne - the guilt monkey is mostly gone. It certainly isn't my fault that my boss keeps on making the same crazy decisions. I am sorry for my old co-workers, though. I heard one of them is looking for another job, so he may get to escape. The others can find jobs fairly easily, if need be. kk, off to paint that room. :cb: Here's a dancing banana to get me started. Hmmmmm, mebbe tis time to pull out those old rock n roll cds.... Hope to see lots of new posts here, very soon!! |

First couple of days have been so/so. Getting back into the grove of how things work on WW. I plan to start walking 2 times a day starting on Monday. My work schedule for this week is not allowing me to do it. However I am going to walk at nights with my 5 year old for the rest of the week. I know one of my keys to weight loss is get moving. Now I just need to do it!

J3,
You are exactly right - we have to get these bodies moving. Once we get started, it gets a bit easier everyday. I used to walk early in the morning, every day. That was 5 years ago and I lost about 70#. And then let it all slide back on. Grrrr. Anyhow, walking with your kiddo is a great idea. Some ladies let the kids ride their bikes, too. My neighbor always brings her kids in the double stroller - a double workout cause it's heavy. I am so aggravated at myself for being this heavy. Today I was calling around for health insurance and found out I am not even eligible until at least 198!! This situation forces my hubby to make a change with his employer ( an temp agency) that will shrink his paycheck by 20%. So, we either continue to be uninsured - not a smart move, or tighten the old belt, or I get to go look for a job with decent benefits and forget about school or fixing up the house or being a mom or even focusing on healthier habits. Grr again. So, you can bet I have been totally OP today for the first time in a very long time. The good news is that my den is lots closer to being finished, so I'll soon be able to start some of the sculpting I wanted to do. Even better, I won a Lowe's gift certificate which will help purchase some of the ingredients. And, I've been up and down that ladder so many times today that the Stairmaster looks wimpy. That's gotta count for a small bit of exercise today. LOL, Guess what I was doing when I got the info about being uninsurable? Making a deluxe toffee/chocolate chip cookie recipe..... Thanks for being there, ladies. Let's hear from everybody soon! |
Would like to join in (M)
I joined my local WW yesterday, I have close to 100 pounds to lose. I did WW in 2000 and lost 40 pounds but stopped going and gained it all back.
When I went to the meeting yeserday it felt like going home again. I felt so at home at the meeting. I look forward to getting to know you all. |
Hi everyone, I used to post here occasioanlly way back when - Dora, I remember reading your posts first time round :) now I'm usually over on the 20- and 30-somethings board, but I always stop in and check over here too. Dora, your last post struck such a chord with me, we've just bought a new house and I can't get critical illness cover until I'm down at least another 50lbs, maybe more - they keep shifting the goalposts about exactly what constitutes 'overweight' and 'obese'. The really frustrating thing is, before telling me no (when they already knew my weight) they sent me for a medical and I got 100% on everything - despite the numbers I really am healthy! Soooooo anyway, just wanted to say, I feel your pain :( and do tell us more about the sculpting! Sounds fascinating!

Hello, I'm new one here. Starting WW program for the third time. Hopefully it would be also the last time. Waiting for my WW at home kid (waiting for my mail every day), as in my home town there's no more WW meetings held. So the only solution was at home kid. I have to lose 100 lbs!!!! That's alot, but there's no other way. My mind is set on it. (Like every other time, but I have to succeed this time). I was surfing in net and found this interesting site and your group. If you accept me as a member in this Group, then I would be very happy to join you.
All to you good luck staying on points. |
