Can I "Bank" Points?
Hello all!
I just joined! I have a quick question...my daily allowance for each day is 19 points. Let's say one day I use only 14. Could I carry those over to the next day, and allow myself 5 extra points? Thanks in advance for the help! |
Hi Molly. I'm guessing by your name and by the information that you gave that you are perhaps not on the US plan?
On the US plan you are given a set amount of minimum daily points, like 20,depending on how much you weigh, then 35 weekly points to use all at once or a little each day. You can also earn Activity points by the amount of exercise you do, but otherwise there isn't any banking of the daily points allowance. (There was as a part of the older WW plans). |
yeah but i bet you she could and still pull it off just like the wendie thing bc she gets 168 points per week so 168 points is 168 points as long as she doesnt go over. good luck molly!

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate your quick response. By the way, I'm from the US-I'm just Irish!

I thought you could bank points??? I guess not? Hmmmm....

Hm, I would assume then that you are on an old plan that maybe you picked up materials from?
In the current WW program, the lowest minimum amount of points is 20. In addition to that 20 points, you also get 35 points per week to use, either all, some or none, though the overwhelming evidence seems to be that the MORE of your points that you eat, the more effective the plan. You can also earn activity points by the amount of exercise you do. The old WW plans had a daily points "range". Mine for instance, was 18-23 points. So if you only ate say 20 points, you could bank or save those 3 extra for later in the week. WW simplified the plan with the WPA. So right now, there currently is no points banking system. If you don't use your WPA's you can't save them for the following week and you can't save AP's either. |
Molly-
If you are doing the winning points program where there is a range, yes, you can bank the points not used in your range. If you are doing Flex points, there is no range and going under your target is not recommended. In fact, it can be down right unhealthy. Your example of 14 points is not enough food in a day. You have 35 points to play with for the whole week- enjoy them, but *eat your minimum points*! You'll destroy your metabolism if you don't. Cheers! |
Great advice, Freedom&Light - I learned alot, and it wasn't even my question! LOL!

I like the flex points a lot better than the banking system. I had this really terrible habit of eating at the bottom of my range and working out like crazy so I could bank lots and lots of beer points for the weekend. I don't do that as much when I have to use my APs the day I earn them.
