Countdown to 200.... June 13th and on

Marion - where are you???
And everyone else counting down to 200.... I finally WI below the 225 mark so now it's onto a new thread here. So exciting! I haven't been this weight in at least 4 years. I'd love to hear from others taking it 25 lbs at a time. It doesn't seem so overwhelming when you talk about it that way.

Kerrie 06-14-2001 11:11 AM

I'm new here--introduced myself a couple of weeks ago before I left on vacation and now I'm ready to get started! I weigh 224, so I guess I'm counting down to 200!

Anybody else here with kids? Kids home from school for summer vacation? I could really use some suggestions for getting moving with little kids around!

Kim in NJ 06-14-2001 11:22 AM

Welcome Kerrie - glad to meet you.
I have one little one but I'm only home with her today because she has a viral infection...

I live near the beach so it's pretty easy for us around here to entertain the little ones. When I'm off though I like the park for a picnic (no one does that anymore and my daughter loves it)... the gymnastics place in town has a huge play area and it costs about $3 an hour for play. Also - we found an outdoor jungle gym place about 6 towns away where the township built a great castle park for the kids to play - she loves that one. The library has LOTS of summer plans for reading hours with the kids....usually at least one trip to the zoo.... selling lemonade out in front of our house together...riding bikes... playing Barbie in her pop up tent outside... she loves for us just to pop a tent and she'll play house for hours - even all by herself. Then for rainy days we keep on hand - playdoh, lanyard string and beads, lots of old greeting cards and scissors etc. She likes ANYTHING creative.

How many kids do you have and what are their ages/sexes?
I have lots of great books of ideas - I use them mostly for Bible class crafts but I try them out on my daughter first.

Is this different from the "To 200 in 2001" thread?

I'm confused. (Not that this is unusual.)

Anyway, anyone is welcome to join the "To 200 in 2001" thread!

Hi Lauren - I started this because the to 200 in 2001 thread looks like it's a yearly goal. I like the 25lb increment threads and since I just hit 223 on Saturday - I want to concentrate on the next 25 now. But I like the 100 board - I don't want to switch to the countdowns board. Is this OK?

Hi Kerri (and everyone else too!!),
Yep you can join this thread, kim and i are at 223, and 224, so you are just fine :-) Hofully there will be others joining us along the way!!! I have 3 kiddos, one that is 18, and 2 little ones 7 year old girl, she has arthritis, and a 5 year old boy. We have bikes and a pool and a jogging double stroller, so we can usually find plenty of activity. I like to walk for my exercise, but i am sure now that the pool is open, that could quickly become another favorite exercise :)
See you around!!!!!

Kerri - I hit the jackpot for you yesterday at my daughter's preschool - I'm too tired to do it now but they gave us a resource list of books and websites they use as reference tools for their summer camp program. I will type it online probably tomorrow night.

Marion - how was WI this morning? I went out to eat last night at TGI Fridays and I still feel full today :dizzy:

I wonder how I will do tomorrow. I probably won't be online until tomorrow night since we are having my daughter's birthday party tomorrow for her friends. I'm dying right now because I just had to make the cupcakes with peppermint patties on top of them and brown M&M's in the shape of a pawprint for the dalmations theme... of course there are still extras of both candies and I had to come upstairs to get some breathing room. :o

Well - goodnight and have a great weekend.

Hi Kim,
Remember when you were stuck, well i got stuck at yesterdays WI, i stayed the same. But i am very proud to say, that we went to the crowne plaza for prime rib and drinks, and a comedy show, which of course was hysterical, and i was able to stay OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats probably a first!!!!!!! When i had lost the 70lbs before i did this too, i would pretty close stay the same everyother week, and then have like a 3-4 lb loss the opposite weeks. Must be something with my metabolism. Okay next test is tonight, we are taking the boat out on the river, and cooking out, s'mores and all :eek:actually double:eek:!!!! Okey dokey i will check back later to see how you did kim, cya.

Kim in NJ 06-16-2001 04:56 PM

Hi Marion & Kerrie - 1 more down today. That was real good because we ate such a late dinner last night I was worried.... so I am happy with the one... 3 more and I'm at 20!!! Yipee. I can't believe I've stayed on this program this long - it's a first for me. I am struggling with the lesser points now - I can't imagine getting down to the 18-23 range... BUT I'm not going to think about it. I'm using today as a high day because I had pizza at my daughter's party today. SHe had a ball - but I was kind of disappointed because she is leaving her preschool at the end of the summer and she won't see these kids again (she's been there 18 mos).... so we went for our lungs and had her party at a gymnastics place we know ALL the kids love.... It's pricy but you can have up to 22 kids all for one price. So we invited her whole class (28) and her cousins and local friends (4)... As of Thursday we had 16 coming which I thought was perfect - then 2 cancelled yesterday, 1 cancelled this AM (because he woke up with the same fever mine had earlier this week), and 2 never showed. So it was 11 altogether (7 from her class and 4 cousins/friends). So it really turned out to be a pretty expensive party for 11 kids.. but they had a ball because they all got to play on the gym equipment probably double or triple the time they would have normally had. Emily is crashed out drooling away on her bed right now

Congrats on the 1 lb down!!!!!!!!!! Watch i am gonna attempt the happy dance for you :spin::spin: Okay back to the couch for me, i am feelin yucky :( Kim you and i gotta stop switching asthma bouts, its gonna kill me

n 2 a swan 06-17-2001 10:39 PM

Marion - Now your asthma is acting up??? Sheesh! And I was just posting to ask how your sleep apnea has been. You have certainly been inundated with health-related problems lately. Sorry to hear it. I'm sending you good vibes for this week. :D

exercisebimbo 06-18-2001 03:36 AM

I am not the one with the sleep apnea, asthms is enough for me, if i were a little more awake, i might be able to remember who it was that was having all the trouble with sleep apnea, hhhmmm??? I do feel somewhat better tonight, but have decided to drag my sorry butt to the doctors tomorrow just to make sure, cya :)

n 2 a swan 06-18-2001 12:24 PM

Marion - Oops! So sorry for the mistake. Hope that your asthma is better now. Guess when my body went south, my mind followed. :dizzy: I remember now that it was Annie who had the sleep apnea (at least I think so). So Annie, if you're here, how are you?

I would take notes about everyone and their details, but I'd probably lose my list. :) So, how's this? I hope that everyone is doing well.

Kerrie 06-18-2001 04:48 PM

Kim, thanks for those links! I'll check them out when I get a few minutes. I was actually looking for ways for ME to get moving;), but I still love to read ideas for things to do with the kids, too!:) Thanks.

I'm still having trouble getting started. I tell myself to just add the good stuff (i.e. more fruits, vegetables) in until I can bring myself to eliminate the higher-fat junk I'm addicted to! I went to the grocery store and stocked up on healthy stuff and everything unhealthy is just about gone. I'm trying to enlist the support of the kids in my efforts, too. They can always eat better!

Sorry about the asthma--sounds miserable for both of you! And congratulations on the pound gone, Kim.:) Hopefully I'll be able to post a loss of a pound or two soon.
