Hi Ladies,
This week has been so busy..in fact I have another meeting in 1/2 hour that I hope I'm prepared for. Tomorrow I won't be able to take my Friday off but do plan on leaving early since I will be going to see the Rolling Stones tomorrow night!!!!! :) :) :) . They just finished their Boston (Fenway Park) shows and are now headed to Hartford. I heard on the radio they have 70 tractor trailers of stage equipment! Can't wait. Lisa try reading Deep End of The Ocean next. Oh my gosh, good luck with the underwear scene. Don't think I could pull that one off! Susan welcome back. Are you as excited as me about seeing the concert? Your going on the 6th right? Are you still enjoying the Echo? Melissa Your weight is coming off slow but steady which is good. I always admire how well you stay on track..you're an inspiration. Lala How is the laptop. I need to buy one this weekend for DS before he goes back to school. Do you have any recommendations?? Austingal Congrats on your 20 year anniversary and enjoy the Godiva's! Well ladies must get ready for said meeting. Talk to you tomorrow. |
Austin, mmmm Godiva, yes I would have a hard time passing that up. I have Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, too. It's very good. Congrats on the weight loss. Keep it up.
I also exercise in the morning. I used to wait till after work, but I found that it was easy to come up with excuses. |
Just got back from my walk and, omigosh, it is just so darn HOT out there! Now I remember why I like waiting until the cooler weather of the evening to get in my exercise. But, the good news is that it is over with and I had a really great walk with DH.
DH is listening to the Stones (Hot Rocks) in the next room. Good stuff! Off to start my journaling post. Tootles! |
Afternoon ladies!
Austingal: Mmmm, chocolate...I've actually been looking around the office for some--can you tell it's PMS time??? Congrats on your 20-year anniversary! DH and I celebrate 23 years next month...time sure marches on! I think the humidity is supposed to sneak back in here over the weekend. Lisa: I haven't talked to my GF this week but will try and give her a call this evening to see how things are. I just hope their new house doesn't get damaged. Good for you for getting in your run/walk early! I met my friend last evening and we walked the peninsula (5 miles) and it felt good. I'm sleeping better since I started walking again. Pam: Have fun at the concert! DS was provided with a notebook computer for school this year and we've been trying to get the wireless to work and it's been frustrating. I'll be glad once he's up and running! Thanks for the encouragement--sometimes I don't feel that I'm all that on track. Susan: Hi! Hope things are going well with you. When do you start back to work? Not much planned for this evening--laundry mainly. I'm off tomorrow to help with the preparations for my FIL's 85th b-day party. I'm going to lunch with my SIL's and I guess now DH's niece is also joining us...it was just supposed to be the adults and now she's coming from what I heard. She's 17 and is very outspoken and is the type who has always thought she's an adult way before. Grrr. Oh well, I'll grin and bear it. |
Hi everyone!
Austin -- added to your journal. If I known I was journalling, I would have made a better breakfast choice. Oh well, NGAMO. Good for you and losing 3# since coming back. I love working from home too. Pam -- Enjoy the Stones. Wear earplugs. :) Dance around during jumping jack flash and mother's little helpers. Hmm. I don't think he's talking about a nanny there. I have a micronpc for both my work and home laptop. This is the 4th we've bought over a period of 10 years (work/home) and I'm really happy with it. They have a good service policy and they have a factory store, so you can get a pretty loaded machine that was used for a tradeshow or demo for about 1K less than what you would pay retail with the same exact waranty as a new machine. Lisa - I'm sure you can think of something good to fill in the silences. Yikes. I'm a morning exerciser also. I would find many excuses if I waited until the night. Melissa - 5 miles! whoo! You are very much on track, IMHO and very much an inspiration. Hopefully your DH's niece will be well behaved and well dressed. Fun plans for the weekend? I'm on the 7 am flight to SD this weekend. It sounded okay when it was planned weeks ago. I would give my eyeteeth to be home this weekend. oh well. lala |
Well, I didn't get cast in Urinetown. Oh well, them's the breaks.
Pam, I had forgotten about your Stones concert. Have fun! Thanks for the book reco. Melissa, 5 miles is very commendable. Do you go pretty fast? I have rehearsal tonight. Well, who invited your niece? Don't you just love when you've planned a lunch or something and then something changes that messes it up? Ditto on you being an inspiration. Austingal, good for you for walking in that heat. DH ran 8 miles this morning and it was very hot. Then the rains from Katrina's outer bands came in and he was miffed that he didn't wait. The rains cooled it off just a little (but noticeable). |
Lisa: Bummer on not getting casted for the play. My friend and I walk at a half-way decent speed but not "fast"--it usually takes us about 1 1/2 hours depending on how much we talk :) I'm not sure how my niece got included but I'm guessing her mom just included her--maybe she'll decide she doesn't want to come but she's the type who has to be with the adults no matter what. I know my SIL said she wanted to keep it to the "adults" but wouldn't put up a fuss if the niece was coming. Oh well.

So, what's everyone doing this weekend? DH and I have a tee time in the morning, but it may be rainy. Sunday is the beginning of tech week for the play, so we'll be at rehearsal. Speaking of rehearsals, next week I need to be at the theater early, so cooking dinner will be a real challenge. I refuse to eat fast food, so I'll be scouring my recipes for quick, good food.

Hi Everyone,
Lisa -- are you guys okay? weekend plans -- flying to San Diego tomorrow at COD. May go run errands with dad, sit outside and work on skin wrinkling, go for walk, hit la jolla farmer's market, read trashy novel, try and get mom out of house. Other than that, nothing much. I'm making stuffed marrow (fat squash) for dinner based on something that I saw Antony Worrall make on Saturday TV cookery show last weekend in London. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/da...us_75307.shtml I think I have everything except the chorizo. lala |
