What are some important lessons you've learned from WW?

  • WW has helped me so much. Not just with losing the weight -- I'm actually losing very slowly, because I eat more points than recommended. But with keeping the weight off, and changing a lifestyle. I thought it might be interesting to share what we've learned from WW that will make us successful in the long term.

For me, I learned two things: Eat lots of fruits and veggies. And eat what you want in moderation. Those two lessons have translated into habits, and habits are something I can keep for a long time.

  • Portion Control And How To Stay Focused W Goals
  • I've just joined, but I love learning portion control...it's a lesson I needed to learn.
  • Portion control was a big issue for me, especially when it came to pasta.

I have also learned to love cooking and trying new things.
  • heres something else i learned: meetings are key: giving that up was the biggest mistake i ever made and not 1 ill make 2x!
  • Definitely portion control!
Mostly it has given me confidence to know that this will work and I can do this if I just stay patient and take it one day at a time.
  • The biggest thing it has taught me is to believe in myself

If I truly believe I can do it - I will find the resources to do it and I will do it!!!!

There are some really great posts here and on some other sites that keep me motivated!!

The meetings are really important. They keep me accountable and the support is great.
To believe that I can make it to my goal, even if it is a slow process.
  • I've learned that guilt and resentment are counter-productive; I've learned that looking at this like a diet that I can "go off of" once I lose weight is just setting myself up for failure. And I've learned that nourishing yourself and feeling good is different then stuffing your face with greasy, fatty foods and sugar-packed treats. Oh, and to steal from AA, I've learned that it does, indeed, work if you work it.
