How to fix 'lifestyle' boredom?

I didn't want to use the diet word and get scolded. :p But seriously, I've been working on weight loss for ten months now. Mostly downs and a few stalls, but never significant ups.

I am bored. I am tired of the same things all the time. Tired of having to think about points and this and that, and ... I am just frustrated. We have very few food choices around my work, and from those few places, I can have a salad, or a chicken sandwich. So extremely bored with lunches.

I don't cook at all. My sister who is also on plan does the cooking, and as I live with family, my ability to cook when on my own is limited. She too is having a pretty much 'off plan' funk.

What have you all done to remotivate yourself and get back into positive thinking, and working towards your goals?

I still -want- that healthier me, I just don't feel like putting the effort into it right now.

I am also nursing a foot that just had surgery, and go figure, as soon as I can't exercise, I really want to. So I can't even counter these eating choices with extra exercise.

So frustrated, and even more scared.... please help me turn this around.

Lunches available at work places sure can get boring, eh? I always bring my own lunch now, and even after a few months, I'm not bored with it. These things take little effort: (I mix and match for about 5-6 points through the day)
- FF yogurt - 1 point
- fruit (something different each time I go to the supermarket) - 1-2 points
- All-bran or Raisin bran bars - 2 points
- pre-cut veggies, like baby carrots - 0 points
- 1/2 can of campbell's "heathy request" soups - 2-4 points
- baggie of LF chips or cheesies - 2 points worth
- piece of LF cheese - 1-2 points

Since your sister does the cooking...how about sitting down with her at the beginning of the week and helping her plan a weekly menu? (Don't worry about feeling locked into a menu, let it be flexible) I know one of my big boredom downfalls is just feeling like I've run out of ideas, and when my hubby has suggestions,I'm like, "hey, that's a great idea!" and I'm not bored anymore. If you have chicken a lot, find some new chicken recipes, and don't be afraid to try something new. Use a cookbook, and rather than following the recipes as if they were the Bible, use recipes as idea starters, removing or substituting high fat or high calorie ingredients. Each time you cook a vegetable, put a different spice on them; experiment a little!

HAVE FUN!!! :D

I did good for about a year and then, the boredom hit. I think this is because I lost 70#, I'm thinner than I have ever been and people are telling me I shouldn't lose much more. The gas station attendant called me sexy this morning. So, I start falling for it and want to just stop already!

The reason I don't is that I know when I look at myself, I'm not where I want to be. I didn't lose 70# to have flabby fat. I have some toning to do and about 20 more #s to lose. That helps me to fight to boredom. Grit and determination. Of course, I had a lapse last weekend at Marble Slab, but I'm back on track now.

I think that is one thing to help me fight boredom. I splurge on occasion. I decide to just have fun at the family BBQ, or go for ice cream that I have to use FPs for. Maybe it will take me an extra week to get done, but if I don't have the splurges, I probably wouldn't finish at all.

Also, I like to mix up the exercise. Mostly I do workout videos because we can't afford the gym. We have NetFlix, so I rent different ones. Sometimes, I will walk outside. Sometimes, swimming or hiking. Tonight, I will probably pay the $10 guest fee and enjoy the YMCA for an evening.

Competitions are also good for me. I like to win. Hate to lose. So, maybe you could wager with sis who will lose the most this month? Or, set up a reward for yourself that you really want.

Good luck with the foot!
