Thin4Life - Week of May 30/05

I just figured out where everyone is - this is Memorial Day in the US. So I'll just sit and chat to myself until all you folks get back to work.

It's been a while since I posted. I haven't deserted; it's just that I feel like a fraud posting here when I am 17 lbs over my WW goal and 24 over my personal goal. I may join another thread that features weekly challenges but will continue to post here too cause I would miss knowing what's going on with all of you.

The big news on this end of the country is the weather. It has been, in a word, horrible. I ran 10 km in our local marathon last weekend. Torrential rain, high winds, cool temps (around 7 C or low 40s I think). The awful weather turned the event itself into something special. It was our annual marathon weekend. The winds destroyed all of the water and relay stations overnight and forced the closure of the bridge that was part of the 10 km and the full marathon.

The organizers were the stars of the day. They started at 4:30 a.m. to reroute things and we were only an hour later getting started. There was a very special feeling in the air, along with very soggy and cold runners. I will try to post a post-run pic of myself and the woman I ran with.

Had a busy weekend between household chores and visiting with all of "my babies". Took two of them to see Madasgar on Friday nite - a cute movie. Wanted to do some gardening but just too wet and cold. Maybe next weekend.

What's up with y'all?

Susan
