Good Morning and Welcome to Finally Friday!!!
Well, I managed to do it again... Did well all day and then when I got home...Chinese Food!!! Our hot water heater went and there was water all over the basement, so Brian wasn't in the mood to cook, so we ordered out. I have a lot of trouble resisting my favorite high fat dishes!
Today, I have a luncheon and then tonight we are going into Manhattan to see The Producers on Broadway. So it will be another challenging day... Thin - I am go glad that WW granted your request. That is just wonderful! Thanks for your advice on how to keep away the after work munchy monster! We actually went to Trader Joes yesterday at lunch to stock up on my old favorite WW friendly foods. Once I get back to a normal routine, I hope I can fall back into my old ways. WOW! You certainly are getting many meals from your roast! I also love sloooow cooked meat. Yum! Good luck with the cape. I am sure that you will have no problem finishing over the weekend. Thanks again for alerting us to the new thread too! I hope I can stop by over the weekend! I hope you all have a good one! GinaMarie =^..^= |
Quiet Saturday
Hello everyone,
A very quiet weekend. The sun is shining here and its a very beautiful day. I took a day off from work yesterday and it was gloomy all day. Gloomy days drive me nuts. I'm still within my points for the week; only by the skin of my teeth! But am trying hard to hang in there. I got my bike out for the first time this year. I went over to the nature center and rode for 30 mins today. It felt good other than a little hard on the allergies. I need to do that a lot more often. I left my bike in the back of the Mazda so maybe I will be inspired. I'm working on paperwork today but other than that its a very quiet day. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good weekend. Think I'll go take allergy med and a nap. Take care and be strong! |
Sorry to not be here. I have been working crazy since Friday. Seven jobs on Friday alone. Then had a dinner job last night. In the meantime I'm still sewing that darn cape! :( I truly remember why I don't like sewing!!! I have cut and pinned and cut and re-pinned so many times. I think it's because I'm trying to line it and the lining is stretching or something. But it's making me NUTS!!! :spin:
Food has been so-so. I did make some Taco Soup yesterday to try and counteract what I've been eating this week. I am journalling so I know just what I've done. Unfortunatly, I don't think I can un-do all of what I ate by tomorrow morning's WI soooooo, I don't think it will be pretty. If I can come out of it with a 'maintain' I think I better count myself lucky. Gina: Wow, sounds like you have a great weekend planned. How was the play??? That sounds like sooo much fun. I haven't been to the theatre since DH and I went to Toronto to see Phantam the last summer it was there. We used to go all the time. DH went to a university that has a very popular theatre on campus and we used to get season tickets. Of course that's before my butt wouldn't fit in the seats anymore. :o Guess we'd do alot more stuff if I would fit. Someday!!! I'm with you on trying to avoid my favorites at certain restaurants. Like when we go Chineese, I want sweet and sour chicken. And when we go Italian, I want Veal Parmesean. There's no discussing it, there's no low fat negotiations, that's what I'm having, and I'm NOT taking 1/2 of it home!!!! I guess the trick is to not go there too often, and never to both in one week! Terri: Good job, getting out the old bike. I haven't been on my bike in years. I bet the nature center made for a nice ride. Good for you too on leaving it in the back of the car. They say the best way to get in the habit of walking is to always have your walking shoes with you. Maybe it will work for you. :D Well girls, this isn't getting my sewing done, or my paperwork for that matter. I gotta go. I'll talk with you later. "Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan." - Tom Landry |

GOOD AFTERNOON Countdowners
What a georgous day this has been. However, we had a bit of a rodeo today trying to move the horses to a different pasture since they have been bothered by someone where they are in the hallow. The vet said that Chaco [my colt] could not have self inflicted that head would she has because her reactions would have prevented doing so since it is so deep it even chipped the bone. If it had been an inch higher it would have killed her. Someone tried to kill my colt. Now that is a rather hard pill to swallow. Mean spirited person has been letting them out also and the calls from neighbors have been getting earlier and earlier progressivly. Like this mornings was at 5:30. A section of fencing is even missing this time. So they are in a different location now that no one dares to bother. Whoever suggested I get a bird..... that is an intertaining idea. :) I think we will sell the colts leaving us with Turn and the chickens. I am afraid Turn would give a bird a heart attack. ;)
Well I am looking forward to a loss tomorrow..... if the scales cooperate for I have had an OP week. Have a good one ya'all. Maggie glad to get the horses moved in Tennessee |
Motivated Monday???
Good morning all! I hope you all had good weekends... Mine has left me exhausted and in a rather bad mood this morning. :( I hope I can get over it...
Determined - I can't believe that you did 7 jobs in one day! That is amazing! The play was absolutely hysterical! We had a wonderful time, but did not get in until 2 AM. Then I had to be up early for a garage sale at my moms. Actually, I got there late because my cat Bart, the ever sick, had blood in his urine the night before, so I was arranging for vet visits that morning. My husband and I did have some difficulty fitting into the rather tiny theatre seats! They were ever so small and we were all squashed up! If the play hadn't been so funny, it could have ruined the experience. Thanks for the laugh about the favorite restaurant foods! The taking 1/2 home thing made me LOL! :) Welcome Bugaboo! I hope you decide to join us... Maggie - If there is one thing I cannot tolerate, it is cruelty to animals! I once had a cat that someone tried to kill by shooting an industrial staple in her head. And another that was poisoned and locked in a hot car! What is wrong with these people?! I think they have moral disorders on some kind. I am glad that you moved your horses to a safe place. I hope you do not have any more troubles... Well, I'd best be going. I hope you all have great days... G |
Yes a motivated Monday!
Hello everyone,
I ended my week (on sundays) with two points banked. That's probably a first in a long time. My goal for this next week is to end with seven banked points. Should be a piece of cake right??!! (yes pun intended since a piece of cake is 7 points) Not weighing in over a week has been very liberating. But I'm still faithful to the journal and have exercised the last three days. Eventually, with dedication, I will see progress. I did take the bike out this afternoon. I was determined since I'm taking a vacation day. I went to a lovely bike trail that winds along a small river, through the woods and over the dale. Would have been very lovely without 40 mph winds! I rode up 30 mins thinking that if this is the head wind, it will take less time to get back. Boy was I WRONG. The wind shifted or something because it was just as grueling and took just as long. 57 mins to ride 8.9 miles. I haven't been on the bike in a long time. Way too long for that kind of wind. Sad too because I used to ride 20-30 miles at a whack about 5 years ago. Wake up call indeed! Maggie - I had to read your post twice. I am stunned that someone would try to kill your horse and let them out. Very sad statement of humanity. Breaks my heart to hear about the abuse. Hope all is well. If not a bird, how about a big snake? :D Gina - The theater sounds wonderful. My all time fav is Phantom of the Opera. Used to go when I was single but DH doesn't really get into it. How's poor Bart? Poor kitty. :( Becca - Welcome to the group and the journey. We discuss many things so feel free to jump in anytime. We're here to support on any topic we can help because its all about the journey of life too. :) Geri - How's the cape? Seems to me that my last sewing project was making curtains for our motorhome. I looked at the old ones and thought "how hard could this be?" Understatement of the year. Hated those blasted things. Finished them right before we sold it! Keep up the journalling so it doesn't all get out of control. Good thinking on the taco soup. Haven't had that in months. Yummmm. Got to go. The kitchen needs cleaning and time to start dinner. Darn phone has been ringing off the hook and it took me 20 mins to get this all typed. Our camper rental business is getting into full swing. Hard to take a nap though. Have a great evening. I'm sending out positive motivated thoughts to us all for this start of a new week. Be strong and take care! |
I can't remember what the cute phrase for Tuesday is!
Hello Everyone. I hope that you are all having great days!
I still blew program when I got home from work last night! Sicilian Pizza! Many Slices  Oh well, there is always today, right? Today is the first day since the accident that I actually feel almost normal, like I did before the accident. That is a good thing, and I am going to enjoy it! Determined - WTG on ending the week with 2 banked points! That is great! Good luck banking your piece of cake this week! :) I am so proud of you for getting on that bike! I used to be quite a rider myself. I still think that bike riding, on a real bike outside, is my favorite form of exercise. I haven't done it in years though. I am sure that you will build yourself back up to your old stamina in no time! Sorry to hear about those winds though... Bart is actually showing mild improvement (I knock on wood as I type that). He really doesn't want to take medication anymore though. Every time either of us makes a move toward him, he runs and hides! I take that as a sign of health though. When they are easy to catch and medicate it is a sign that they are weak and not feeling well. I am calling the vet today for test results, so I will let you know how things are turning out... Well I'd better get going! GinaMarie Hey, I think it was something like... Choose to Lose Tuesday!!!! :D |
GOOD MORNING Countdowners
We got rain. Much needed rain indeed.
Weigh in report: the scale showed me UP a bit. TERI what a bike ride! I bet you were happy when it was over. Snake. Oh my it would eat Turn. :) Way to go with those "leftover" points. GINA Welcome back from that accident! It is nice to have you feeling better. Do let us know about Bart. Poor kitty. It is so sad when animals get sick because they can't tell us where it hurts. I think we may have the colts sold. I am going to be extra careful with my journal and water this day and days to follow. I am thinking perhaps I just thought I had a good week and didn't track as closely as I should have. If that is the case I was only cheating myself. I have to write it when I bite it. Have a good OP day all ya'all. Maggie chug a luging ice water in Tennessee |
WOW!!!! Have I missed you guys!!!! But I gotta tell ya, that DARN cape is done, over, kaput!!! :D We had dinner last night at a steakhouse that is about 1/2 way between home and the baby's school. So we met there for his birthday. He was really pleased with all of it. I'm really glad! :) He had to take it back to school with him to show all the guys. That made me feel real good! :)
Well, the scale did not grace me with a 'maintain' this week. I did not luck out. I did not pass go. And I did not collect $200! (hope you guys are all familiar with Monopoly or you won't get that last one! ) It was a gain. :o A significant gain. :( I will do better this week. Becca: Hi. Welcome. This thread isn't quite as busy as the one I sent you, but I'm glad you found me anyway. Hope the Metabolife works well for you. Hope you'll be a regular. :) Maggie: Oh my Gosh!! Who could do anything so cruel to defenseless animals, let alone a beautiful colt!!! It sounds like you're really getting harassed. What's with them letting the horses out every morning??? I hope you find the culprit and put a stop to this real quick. I'm so sorry if you have to give up your colts/lifestyle just because of some moron!!! :( Gina: Sorry to hear Bart isn't to much better. :( Maybe running and hiding is the improvement. You hate to see animals suffer especially when they can't tell us if they're hurting. Sounds like your trip to Manhattan was wonderful, sorry it all put you in a foul mood! Terri: That Taco Soup was sooooo good. I hadn't made it in months either, but knew I had to do some damage control. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late! Well, girls, I'm outta here. JAG's on and I wouldn't miss seeing 'Harm' for love nor money!! He is tooo Yummy!! My life is sorta back to normal so I should be back to a regular posting schedule once again. Love to all. Welcome to Water Filled Wednesday!
Well, I did it again! But this time I blew program in the middle of the day instead of waiting until after work. :o It was a Baskin Robbins two scoop sundae! I was in there ordering a cake for a party that we have at the office today, and just could not leave empty handed. :nono: So today won't be much better... We have that office party for a co-worker who was promoted, and then later on tonight Brian & I are going to a Beer Dinner. Tomorrow, I will be having dinner with a good friend, and Saturday I have a surprise party for another one of my good friends. Sunday I am going into Manhattan with Brian to see an art exhibit, and Monday is Memorial Day!!!! Will it ever be convenient for me to back on program?!? Or, perhaps that is my problem... If I wait for it to be convenient, it will never be...
There must be something wrong with the earth's gravitational pull this week, because I showed a gain this week too! A big whopping 2 pounds!!! But it's not like I was good last week or anything, so I am not upset. Here is the Bart update... The lab results did show a bladder infection, so we have to keep him on all his meds. He is showing a slight improvement in his diarrhea problem, and a big improvement in his disposition. He is playing and looking out the windows, and his coat even looks better. We have a re-check appointment for Saturday, so I will know more then. I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow morning. Please everyone say a quick prayer to the bone gods that I am finally healed! Maggie - Good attitude! Just write what you bite and I am sure that next week will be a big improvement! Thin - I am so glad that your son was pleased with his cape!!! That must have made you feel so good. Almost like it was worth the effort? :) Don't you worry about that gain either. We shall overcome! I hope you all have great days. Gotta go, I am having a minor crisis here... GinaMarie =^..^= 300/274/185 |
Good Morning, ladies! I'm here early this morning. And you know what that means, I'll probably be here again later tonight too. Oh no, you'll have to put up with me twice in one day!!!! Wow am I in a weird mood. Can you tell?????
Gina: Sorry about your gain. I do like the gravitational pull theory though! Hey, what else could it be???? Glad Bart is doing better and at least you have a cause for the problem. Poor thing!!! Wow, you're week sounds very full. Make yourself a pot of Taco Soup so that any meals you have at home or can carry to work are low point ones. It will get you through. Get the 5 fruits/veggies in and the water and you'll be fine, even with the eating out. :) I don't know if I want to ask but what is a 'Beer dinner'. Is it where you don't eat anything, you just drink beer??? That could be fun!!!! Hope the surgeon has a good report for you. It'll be nice if you're all back to normal. :) Angie: Hey, girlfriend, where ya been???? Hope everything is ok. Brenda: Hope you're doing well, sweetie. Check back in and let us know what you're up to. Well, girls, I'm outta here. You all have a great day. I'll talk to ya later. "There are only two options regarding commitment. Hello everyone!
I feel like I've been away forever. Boy do I need to do some reading to catch up..... Well, only 3 weeks behind my original date, but I made it to the 100 pound mark! :D My leader, the class, my family and my friends have been so much help to get me to this point. I don't know if any of you will ever know just how important you have all been. Thank you.... thank you! This last 20 pounds have been difficult but now that I hit that 100 pounds I will work only on the next 5.... I really will try to post to each of you but for today, I have to run. Everyone wish me well on my job interview tomorrow morning, as if I don't have enough to do, I'm job hunting too. :) P.S. I know everyone has been wishing me well, and thoses wishes go back out to each and everyone of you ten fold. Keep up the great work my friends. Love Brenda 430/330 :spin: 170 in 2002 |
GinaMarie: Hope Bart will be back to his old self soon. My dawgie has had a recurring problem with her blood and it only happens in the fall. We've had her for about 8 years now and the last three years she's been sick in the fall to the point where the vet doesn't know if she'll pull through. The first year they thought she had eaten poison. I'd count the ice cream as your dairy units for the day and move on. Maybe you could take healthy food to some of the parties so you have at least one thing that you can safely eat.
thinthinker: I don't know what a beer dinner is either. I don't like beer, so I wouldn't be interested if that's all there was. Now, mention blackberry brandi and I'm there. canadian: It is so good to know that someone has attained such a huge goal. You give us all something to look up to. It helps us muddle through the ups and downs. And there is a REAL person that shows us that it CAN be done. 2oM (Annie  :dz: ) |
