Need to get started and stick with it!!!

Hello everyone!!! I am pretty new to this place. I have been looking around and reading for about a month but am ready to get started on my weight loss adventure. I am a 36 happily married guy with 4 kids. I have a 2 year old so would like to be healthier so I can see him graduate from high school. I have had weight issues for the last 12 years. Up and down over and over from diet to diet with the same result, quitting. Today I have had enough!!! I want to lose 120 lbs. If there is anyone that could help I am open for suggestions. I need your help!!! I look forward to chatting with you guys and gals for support. Will post tomorrow and look forward to your responses.

Hi Mike ~

Welcome to the WW board. I myself am new to this weight loss journey too.

I started WW two weeks ago and I'm finding that I really like it. I don't feel hungry (Unless I get busy and just don't have the time to eat) and I'm losing weight.

The people at WW are very supportive and a great resource. So is everyone on this board. You'll get great recipes, help, encouragement and some laughs!

hello

Hi Mike and Diana,
I started WW about 11 weeks ago and I think I am doing pretty good with it.
If you have any questions, ask away. I love to have people to talk with that are going through the same thing as me. I think it helps everyone to have someone to talk to. Hope you do well, and Iwill check back here later.

Hey Mike! I know that it seems nearly impossible when you have a big amount to lose, total I needed to lose 132 pounds to get to my goal weight of 135. I've lost 33.5 so far, and it really hasn't been that tough. You just need to keep track of foods that people mention at meetings, and really give yourself a bunch of time at the grocery store so you can make smart choices. What helps me the most is by walking around the perimeter of the store first, and then only going down the aisles for specific items I may need. That way I get produce first, whole wheat breads next, lunch meat and fat free hot dogs, dairy, frozen veggies, frozen meals, and frozen veggie meat products (low in points!), and then hit the aisles for things like popcorn, cereal, applesauce, and snack type foods. Good luck!
