BACK AND GLAD OF IT

Hi there gals. I didn't survive the 5 in a row potlucks ~ yes count them ~ FIVE very well. I am back to my OP mode but know in my heart of hearts I will take a hit this coming Monday at WW.

CYNTHIA what a great choice you made. I am very proud of you for doing that and having the gumption to finish the hike. WOW you go girl.

GERI we remodeled a bathroom at our last place and took out the tup and put in a shower unit. It was wonderful and I was so very pleased with it all the time we were there. You won't be sorry! :)

Hello everyone! We worked a theatre all day yesterday and I was able to avoid the popcorn! Woohoo! We ate out at a steakhouse and I chose grilled fish. Another victory!!! :D I'm still not really back with it, but I can see the attitude returning. It's about time!

Maggie: I know I'm going to love the bath re-do.

Well girls, I'm doing the theatre again today, so will be gone. Wish me luck avoiding the popcorn for a second day. You all take care and enjoy your weekend.

Good Sunday to you all! I was able to avoid the movie popcorn devil this weekend! Woohoo! A little victory! :D I'm hoping to have undone some of last week's WI damage this week. I don't think I will have undone it all as it was pretty nasty! :( But my spirits are up and I'm back with it so hopefully I won't falter again for awhile. *finger's crossed*

We saw Town and Country with Goldie Hawn, Warren Beatty, Garry Shandling and Diane Keaton. It was funny, but very slow. I was really disappointed. With that cast of characters, I really expected better. Oh well, I survived the popcorn devil and that's all I'm thinking about right now. :D

I hope you're having a great weekend. Sure, I'll stay here and keep the thread going while you're all out having a life! LOL I found this recipe at my WW meeting. It is so simple and quick, you'll love it. Hope you don't mind me sharing.

CHICKEN POT PIE (4 servings)

1 cup cooked cubed chicken
1 pkg. (9oz) frozen vegetables, thawed
1 can (10.75 oz) fat free cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup skim milk
1 egg
1 cup reduced fat Bisquick baking mix

In a pie plate sprayed with Pam, mix chicken, veggies and soup. In a bowl, mix milk, egg and baking mix. Pour over chicken mixture in pie plate. Bake 30 minutes in 400 degree preheated oven. Makes 4 servings. 5.5 WW points per serving

This is a great recipe if you're like me and forget to plan dinner. If you forget to thaw the veggies, put them in a collander and run some warm water over them. It will take just a few seconds. I make it simple and use the canned, water packed chicken. I also put it in a deep dish pie plate so it doesn't run over. Hope you like it. Serve with a salad and you've got a meal.

Well, guess I'll let you all go. I'm going to go up and fill my fridge with some low point treats so I'm ready for the week. I think this week I'll do the orage dreamsicle. I haven't made that in awhile. You all enjoy your day.

Maggie, sorry for your troubles, I hope your WI won't be as bad as you expect. I know you'll get back on soon. You've worked too hard not to, and thank goodness you won't have that many potlucks in a row any time soon (at least I hope not).

Thin, that is FANTASTIC. Way to go on putting that devil in his place. And 2 days in a row, that is determination.

I got into my size 20W jeans this morning, zipped them up, and they were only a little tight - no pain though so I'm bringing them out of retirement. I figure one day of a full wearing and they should almost be loose!! I started this journey in size 24W, so I'm feeling pretty spunky about myself right now :). I also noticed that I have to hook my bras one notch tighter as well . I can't wait till May 5th when I take my two month measurements.

We are finally getting good weather, though I've learned fat people shouldn't exercise hard when it's hot. DH and I were up late last night (just listening to music on the stereo in front of the gas fireplace) so I got up rather late this morning. I did my regular walk but two hours later than normal. Man, was it HOT . The last lap was very hard and it took me a while to recover, much longer than normal. Guess the moral of the story is to pay more attention to my body's signals for a specific place and time rather than base my activity level on what I've done in the past. But it's done and now I can have fun the rest of the day! Take care all.

GOOD AFTERNOON Countdowners

It is a lovely day that the Lord hath made! I sure am enjoying this weather. We had moved the horses yesterday to another section so the grass could grow back on the one they have been on. I'll take some pictures when they completely shed those winter coats. The look like a motley crew. We are going to get a baby pigmy goat next week. He can chomp where the lawn mower can't go ......

GERI thanks for that recipe ~ it is a definite "do."

CYNTHIA isn't it a great feeling to have gone down in jean sizes. CONGRATUALTIONS! I think it a good idea to take measurements also. I plan on taking mine every 20 pounds lost. Here is my chart for my first 20 lost......

Chillin 04-29-2001 10:51 PM

Maggie, cute graphic on the measurements. I particularly like how your tape measure doesn't go higher than 37". I need one like that :). I'd like to report my hips as 37+ rather than as 52" :(.

I'm on water duty tonight. For some reason I decided to make stir-fry with lots of soy, the night before WI. Wasn't thinking until after I'd eaten it. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Maybe I'll try that hot water and lemon trick I keep reading about in other posts.

Chillin 04-30-2001 04:34 PM

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!

I'm here to say goodbye. I'll be checking in now and then, but I'm moving on to the Countdown to 225 thread. That's right, I did it. I lost 6.2 lbs. today, taking me to 249 lbs. I've lost a total of 27.4 lbs. and received that coveted 10% keychain. I have my house key and car key on there now. The next time I'm tempted to head to the grocery store to pick up some ice-cream I'll have that staring me in the face.

See the rest of you there soon!!

thinthinker 04-30-2001 08:35 PM

Hello everyone! WI went alright. I was down 1# this morning. Not the best, and certainly didn't make up for how bad it was last week, but it is in the right direction. :)

Maggie: Sounds like you've been busy out and about in the yard. I'm looking forward to the pictures of the horses.

Cynthia: Congratulations, YOU DID IT!!! I'm sooo proud of you. We will surely miss you here. But at least we know how to find you!!!

Well, girls, gonna run. Almost time for Ally. Talk to you all later.

Be ferociously persistent!

GOOD EVENING Countdowners

Well CJ chased one too many cars today :nono: and is no more. But we decided we had gotten her when she had already learned that trait and tried our best to work her out of it to no avail. We have gotten a puppy that is a mutt that is only 8 weeks old and is mostly Australian Shepherd. He has brown feet and under his chin so Cowboy has named him Bean Dip. We will call him Bean. Turn doesn't exactly know what to do with him yet but inspects him when he is napping.

Weigh in report: I am up 1.4 this weigh in. It is actually less than I had anticipated but that may happen next week.

CONGRATULATIONS CYNTHIA that is so neat. I just know you are jazzed. Your pictures show how you are shrinking. Thanks for sharing. And I will certainly miss you here and like Geri said we know how to find you.

GERI good going on that 1# gone! It is in the right direction..... keep going in that direction you will see what happens.

Maggie fixin to have a good nights sleep in Tennessee

It's me can you believe it? You probably thought I was gone for good again...and I almost was...I fell off the wagon and hit my head so to speak and it took me a bit to talk myself back up. I got pretty depressed about my weight for a couple of weeks and I thought seriously about giving up..I even gave into the binge monsters...but after everything I walked back into weigh in tonight and was up .6 I honestly couldn't believe it. When I ate these last few weeks..I ate EVERYTHING...candybars, cookies, junk....yuck.. But I am happy to report I am going to give it a try again. After weigh in tonight I went home and walked 1 1/2 miles on my trusty old treadmill. Made me feel good to know I was doing something good for myself. I have to remind myself that this is an ongoing struggle...It isn't going to get any easier. Thanks for listening to me ramble tonight!!! Congratulations on the losers this week!!!! I will miss you WW Queen! But we won't be far behind you!!! Take care and keep us posted!!!

Night Girls!

Good morning,

Just a quick post. Sorry for being AWOL but have been busy visiting the dog and horse at mom and dad's and trying to get ready to move.

Maggie - Poor CJ. Your new pup sounds like so much fun. I swear our little Bear put on five pounds in a week. He is growing like a weed. Too bad they grow so fast.

Angie - Welcome back on the wagon. Yes, its a daily struggle. Hang in there with us, you'll make it.

Geri - Thanks for the recipe. I plan to make it for lunches here soon.

My sister picked up a Mexican casserole recipe at her weigh-in. I made it last night and will try it for lunch this week. I'll post it if its good.

Have a great OP day ladies.

Hannah

I tried sending this as a PM but it claimed it was too long and I didn't know what to get rid of, so here it is.

I am so sorry to hear of your struggles. I know of which you speak since I have been down that road so many times.

I noticed you used the word "try" in your post and that reminded me about something. I'm a big hockey fan and love watching the Colorado Avalanche. A couple of years ago they were predicted to win the Stanley Cup in the playoffs. Each round in the playoffs is a best 4 out of 7 games and they were in round 1 (total of 4 rounds to take it all). The Avs were up 3 games to 1 against an inferior team. The morning of game 4 I read an interview with the team captain of the Edmonton Oilers, stating how he knew he and his guys could get the job done, that the Oilers had been down like that before and come back to win the series and so could they.

Then I read an interview with our captain, stating that our guys just needed to "try" to do their best. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach when I read that. And sure enough, the Oilers won the next three games and our guys got to go home and play golf.

There is so much power in words in getting the mind psyched up and ready to do what is necessary. I want you to succeed so much. Get rid of the ambiguous words like try, and hope, and change them to will and can. If you truly believe you will get to goal then you will get there. I'm not saying there won't be a bit of stumbling along the way, but it will be easier to pick yourself up and keep on going if you use positive words when you think of doing the program.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words!! It mean so much to me that you took time to respond to my post. I CAN Do this and I WILL no matter what it takes!!!! Thanks again for the boost of confidence!!!!!

I'm going to move us to a new thread. This will hit 30 and I think we're pressing our luck before it goes to page two. Hope you don't mind. See you there.
