Hi all!

I am possibly pregnant and heard that there was a WW pregnancy plan. Does anyone have any information on this? I DO NOT want to gain 75 pds like the last 2 pregnancies! I have worked way to hard to let this get out of control. I want to gain the right amount of weight.

Since I do the program at home, I have no one to really ask so I was hoping someone might have some info. Thanks.

Emily - Congrats! And from what I have heard WW discontinued the Pregnancy Plan. But you could still count points. I heard if you add 10pts to your day that covers it as far as being OP. But that is just what I heard. You can still eat healthy and be pregnant - so do what you have been doing - just add some extra fruits and veggies etc.

GOOD LUCK!!

Tara :)

There is no pregnancy program anymore. However, what friend of mine did was take the program to her OB/GYN and they decided that she could still follow the program but add 7-8 points a day (not to be spent on sweets but protien, complex carbs, dairy, fruits and veggies).

Good Luck Emily!

I'm pregnant as well, and was trying to watch my nutrients more than my points, and found that I was gaining weight faster than I'd like. I estimated how many points I should be eating each day, but I'm going to the OB tomorrow night and plan to ask her if she agrees that is the appropriate range for me.

If you are going to count points to track what you're eating, review it with your doctor to get his/her professional opinion.

Thanks guys....I figured that I could add 6 points and that would cover it, but I will see if I should add more. My current pt range is
20-25 pts and I read that a pregnant woman only needs an extra 300 calories. I will definitly consult with my Dr.

Emily,
Yes, a pregnant woman only needs an extra 300 calories - BUT that's on top of what you need to MAINTAIN your weight and not lose. So you'll need to figure out how many points you need daily to maintain plus an extra 4-5 points for the pregnancy.

Adding about 10 points works out to the extra calories you need in the first trimester. Your current range + 3 or 4 for maintenance + 6 for the extra calroies you need. This is working out pretty well for me so far, but I go to the OB for the first time on Thrusday so I'll see what he says.

I am lucky to have a midwife familiar with the WW program. She had told me to add a fruit, a protein and a carb each day. I have now found that that is not always enough so I am trying to be careful about the "extras".
