Hi everyone,
Oy, must buckle down today and finish paper for conference. Grey and cool here, my cleaning diety is at home cleaning so I can come home to a clean and tidy house. The dog is also at the groomers, so he'll be clean and fluffy. I could use a bit of a defluff myself in the eating department. Oh well... I cruised through a big pan of lasagne, turkey chili and stuffed peppers last night for some friends who are not doing well. I also have some stuffed shells and a chicken pot pie in the freezer to take them. Not all points friendly, but good for them to keep their strength up. I will admit to being in a bit of food rut. I am hoping to try some new stuff next week. Domina -- that is great that you are doing the total gym. I see lots of exercise equipment purchased and never used. My DP bought a rowing machine that has not seen the light of day. Oh well. Okay, any great plans for the weekend? lala |
Hi Ladies,
Last day of work for me, I have tomorrow off, YEAH!!!!!!!! Not going anywhere just need to get my daughter's supplies ready for camp which starts on Sunday. She still is involved with Girl Scouts and really enjoys going to their camps each summer. This year she will be helping as a junior counsellor. I can't believe today is her last day of school, there were so many cold/snow/ice days that the last day just kept getting pushed out further and further. Susan yep sis and I really enjoy vacationing together and we have discussed the possibility that in a few years it might just be me and her :) nice!!! My daughter and nephew are 2 years apart in age and still get along pretty well together. Hope you had a nice day at the conference on Thursday. Melissa Lake Saranac is located in the central part of the Adirondacks Lake George is more south. My sister and I have discussed visiting there also, it looks beautiful. Your temps have been very cool, nice for walking. Domina hope you get some golf in this weekend, I would like to do that myself this week, with my daughter away at camp I should be able to find some time. Lala so no more trips to Europe other than Paris in the fall? You are one lucky lady..I envy your travels. Spending time vacationing with family is nice, my sister and I are very close in age and have always had a nice relationship. My relationship with dear brother is another story entirely!! Hope Jacques is doing well. Well ladies time to prepare for a 2:00 meeting. Wish me well because after it I am out of here!! |
Hi Ladies,
It's an absolutely beautiful day here today..perfect for skipping work. I've decided to take Fridays off for the rest of the summer. I have so much vacation time raked up that it makes sense to use some of it this way rather than weeks at a time. So Lauren and I are off to the stores to pick up bug spray, sunscreen and other various camping supplies. I always miss her so much when she is gone, but she really enjoys overnight camp. Lala the food you are sending to your friends sounds absolutely delicious!! You must be a good cook and you definitely are a very good friend. I'm right there with you trying to rein in the eating. I've been pretty good all week, I'm struggling to keep it that way. My goal also is to stay in the 115-116 lb range but it is not easy to do. Susan, Domina and Melissa I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll talk to you later. |
Hi everyone,
Greyish here. DP took jacques to accupuncture today, I got to stay at work. Yipee. Nothing exciting planned here. I am trying to get a proceedings paper out the door and attempting to install a piece of code/software that came with no operating instructions. Had an okay food day yesterday, hoping to do better today. Pam -- its nice that you guys can do things together, I still like shopping with my mom. As for vacation, what is that? I have none. Anything I do now is Leave Without Pay. That sucks. DP stretched our trip to France out to 10 days. Fly in spend a few days in Paris, then start driving to Brittany, Normandy (did part of the last year), Haut-Bretagne and then chunnel over for one day in London to stock up on cheese. The girl loves cheese. In fact, I am planning her days in Western France based on my fromages de France map in my office (from her father's office). Too bad we're not going to Provence and Drome, the cheeses there are far superior. Okay, gotta split. I am going to get all my errands done before noon tomorrow so that I can spend the day reading a novel. Hope you all are well and safe! lala |
Good afternoon!
It's been crazy here today. I was off yesterday (funeral) and so today is catching up day with lists, etc. It's rainy and a cool 55 here today; yesterday it was 80 and sunny. Last night DS #2 made me brownies for my birthday--he was so cute about it--I had gone for a walk with my friend down at the peninsula and he told me I couldn't come into the house until he called me--he went online and found a recipe on the Food Network and made them from scratch! He had a pot of tea and candles on the table, teacups, etc. He even cleaned up after himself. It was the best birthday present :D Domina: Yes, we're on the shores of Lake Erie. Here's a link to the peninsula. It's a great place to walk. A lot people come here for the beaches but I have to admit I rarely go there in the summer. http://www.presqueisle.org/ Lala: My sister is arriving this evening from VA and we're leaving tomorrow morning for OH for our last bowling tournament so it'll be a busy weekend. I'm working tonight at WW and we're supposed to go out to dinner after we're all done. I'm looking forward to it. Saranac Lake was beautiful, the mountains are gorgeous. Pam: Hope you're enjoying your day off! I'm off next Friday and can't wait. I know what you mean about missing the kids when they're not home. The house is so quiet when they're not around. Domina: Hope everything is going well there. Susan: Don't be too hard on yourself--it takes time to get back into the old habits. Baby steps, baby steps. I find when I do that I'm much better that way I don't defeat my efforts. You'll be fine. Well, back to work--hopefully the afternoon will be a little quieter. |
