Susan -- I am hoping that you get more sleep and get better. If I had known the jean skirt issue was soo big, I would have picked each and everyone one of you one.
I agree that gas prices in Canada are much higher than the US. I'm afraid to see what the summer looks like. My parents are sending up their Jeep SUV to keep in Seattle, I don't think we'll be driving it much. We were thinking of replacing a car this summer, I am looking at the escape hybrid but I'm more a volvo girl. I'm waiting for the v-50 to be released in September. My parents are going to volvo vahalla in June (Sweden) and will test it for me. Melissa -- I may take a small bear with me to Iran. We have one that goes alot of places, he has had his picture taken in Japan, France, London, Rome, Scotland, Spain..He's pretty cute. I hope the weather clears up and your headache abates. Pam -- I hear that that Pittsfield is now the home of the birth of baseball. Isn't that pretty close to you? Domina -- The price of gas is not the reason your SIL is moving, is it? Is it the housing market --shack on my street -- 350K, nice house 500-600K. I really like Seattle, I can't imagine living anywhere else. Okay, gotta go and get a budget number. lala |
lala, she's moving to a more remote place--NW Colorado. I think she and her DH are tired of how crowded Seattle is getting and how expensive. They are both retired.
I like the idea of the bear in Iran. |
Hi ladies,
A very warm day here today, it was 90 when I went outside at lunch time. Tonight it looks like we're going to get thunder storms. Should be a wild night, actually wild in more ways than one, I'm eating like a wild women (ahhh tom!!) I just had to hide a bag of baked lays before I ate the whole d*** thing. Susan I hope you are able to sleep soundly tonight. I know when I don't get a good nights sleep I'm really grouchy the next day. After finding out what you are paying for gas in Canada I'm not going to complain again. Domina if you get a chance do rent Love Actually, I'm sure you will enjoy it if you are a sucker for a good romantic story like I am!!! Melissa hope your sinus problems are improving. This time of year must be really difficult for you. My daughter is a collector of Boyd's Bears also. They are just so cute..she also brings one with her when she goes to camp each summer!! Lala do you remember much about the years you lived in Iran? Your upcoming trip sounds exciting..hope you and Mom have a nice time visiting with your family. Yes, Pittsfield is not too far from me. It is in the Berkshires and is the home of I believe, a New York minor league baseball team. Well time to go. Talk to you later.. Pam |
The hot, humid weather continues here...I really despise this. I'd much rather have a nice 75 degree day with low humidity and a breeze! We had to turn on our A/C at home and I've been running it in the office. We're supposed to have a break tomorrow.
Susan: I've found that melatonin helps me get a restful night's sleep on those nights that I'm tossing and turning. It's a natural supplement so you don't feel "groggy/fuzzy" in the morning. Lala: The new volvos are very stylish--I like the new coupes but can't afford one. Pam: I hear ya on the chips! DH bought a bag of Lay's for the kids to go with their dinner last evening and I had just 2 and then put the bag in the oven so I wouldn't be tempted. Today I feel bloated so I know TOM is knocking at the door, lol. I've finally gotten rid of my sinus headache and just feel a little stuffy. I'll be glad once the weather stabilizes and the trees finish. I was up 1.8# at my WI yesterday but that was really no surprise considering I've been eating tortilla chips (salty, salty, salty) and that TOM is due. I've drank enough water to float so hopefully the water retention will slowly dissipate. Domina: I'm sure your weather is much warmer than I'm complaining about. I could never get used to living in FL, of course, it's probably like being up north, you run from your car to your house, in order to stay warm/cool. Hope everything is going well for you! Any plans for the weekend? |
Hi everyone,
Domina -- Northwest Colorado, huh? I have only been to Leadville and that was pretty fun as a tourist. I'm not sure I'm hale and hearty enough to live there. Nice skies, too much snow. Melissa - I understand the chips. I had a few crackers last night (bad lala) with some smoked salmon cream cheese. I was trying to get the dog to take his pills and the cream cheese is a change for both of us. :) Glad to hear the headache is gone. You'll lose that fluff too. Susan -- I hope you are having fun on your business trip. Pam -- I'm glad your daughter takes her bear. I believe that bears should get out and travel as much as possible. Don't laugh, but DP has a bear that goes with her to school. I can't wait to get him a little mortar board and hood when he gets his Ph D. with her. I haven't been to Iran in soo long, I was watching a VHS tape about an american documentary filmmaker from Seattle :) who went to Iran. It was pretty interesting look at life in Iran. I feel like I'm going to do a bill bryson stranger in my own homeland experience. My bags are getting pretty full and I'm getting antsty. No credit card use there, so I have to take a hefty amount of cash (Yes, cash) out of the bank. I've grown so dependent on the world of the ATM everywhere, carrying 1500 bucks cash is going to be strange. Now, if I could only get my jfk-lhr upgrade to clear I would be set. Okay, I think I'm the only one who didn't quite understand Love Actually, now granted I saw it on a plane and slept through some of it. I guess I'll hope to catch it again sometime. I do like Hugh Grant though. No weekend plans -- work, garden, pack. lala |
Good morning! Another muggy day here in PA...we broke the record yesterday with temps hitting 83 at 10:45 a.m. Normal for us is 66 at this time of year. The clouds are moving in so I figure rain isn't too far off.
Lala: I hear you about the ease of using ATM and such while traveling. I'd be the same way with having to carry cash. When do you leave for your trip? I had a good day of eating and met my friend for a nice 4-mile walk at the peninsula. The weather was perfect last evening for it. This weekend I'll be heading out to see the Highland Games at a local university and will be able to indulge in a sausage roll (the highlight for me :D) and watch some rugby matches. DH won't be playing but he's one of the tournament chairs so he'll be busy. Sunday DS #2 leaved for Penn State for the PJAS--should be interesting for him since he's never been that far away for any amount of time. He'll be back on Tuesday afternoon. He's been practicing his presentation. The experience should be good for him. DS #1 finished up his 1st year of college and I'm happy to say he had a great semester. He has one grade he's waiting for but other than that he's set. He's taking a Physics class this summer to get ahead. Temps here are supposed to drop overnight to more of a normal range for us which I'm looking forward to. The rain will also help with the pollen counts. At least the sinus/allergy headache has disappeared. Happy Friday everyone!!! |
