Hi Everyone,
Back to cloudy cold days here, actually seeing the sun for the last couple of days was kind of nice. Yesterday was really one of those ridiculous eating days for me. Breakfast.. I was good, lunch.. I was good, daytime snacks were fine..the problem came at night. I had too much going on after work and by the time I got home I was starving. So.. I ended up eating a quick Weight Watchers frozen meal. Of course I was still hungry, so I ate some of my daughters macaroni and cheese and followed that up with a Trader Joes molasses cookie and a couple of handfuls of easter egg M&M's. Ended up eating about 35 points for the day. I hate it when I do things like that. Anyway, new day so I'll try to do better. Susan, there are 65 people in the spring meltdown here. Many of them attend the weight watchers at work program that is currently going on in our office. You must be getting excited about your trip to Cuba!! Congrats on the awesome run yesterday. Melissa, I agree with Susan your numbers are great. Has it been pretty consistent for you or did you experience any increases over the holidays? I tend to gain a little over the winter months. Domina, are you a golfer? I began golfing 5 years ago and I think its something I could really be good at if I could find the time to go out more frequently. Of course in this part of the country the season is much shorter. Most of the area courses are scheduled to open this weekend, but its still much too cold for me to get out!! Hi Lala..hope all is well with you and your neighbors are behaving. Good luck with your golf lessons. Have a good day everyone. Pam |
Hi everyone,
Grey here today, decided to bring young dog in to work and take him for a snuffle at lunch. He does not like going to the car now, he equates car with vet, so he will run back into the house. I bribed him with a bonio, he probably baying now. Did I tell you he loves carrots? Yup. I got him to leave his nasty rawhide thing for a carrot. I am so pleased. My goal is to take 4 lbs off him by the end of May. It would be great if the rest of us could follow suit. Susan -- wow on your run. I see our half marathon clinic starts in July. Maybe I'll get adventurous. Melissa -- the gym was quiet today. The school district is off this week, next week its the parochial schools, I think the private/non-parochial are the week after, bad if you have kids in all school districts. Lovely if you go to the gym. :) Domina -- My lesson was fun! We learned about grip, stance, alignment and posture and then we hit a bucket of balls. He came and talked to each person about the four things. I did okay. I think it'll be good for me. Pam -- the neighbors are okay. Quiet until the weekend. I can't quite figure out what they do, I think the younger one must go to school and the older one has some sort of job and goes to school. However, I go to work and come home a lot of lunches to deal with home crises, so I'm sure they must think that I have a wierd schedule too. Must buy ham today for easter. I have delegated two egg dishes and a coffee cake for brunch. I am going to buy an easter bread from a bespoke bakery instead of doing it myself. I am having a friend come over on Friday night to help DP and I fill 200 eggs and thank goodness asparagus is on sale. I'm going to grill it to have with our ham. I think other than a fruit salad and some roasted potatoes I'm done. Whoo hoo. Oh, and my table comes back from the refinisher. It will be beautiful. We have been using one of those rubbermaid foldable tables and it is nasty, my apologies to who may have one they use on a regular basis. lala |
Well it was definitely quiet in the office this afternoon. I was up 1.2# :( at my WI today and know what I need to do to get it back down--step away from the snacks!
Pam/Susan, I've been maintaining right around 135 since the end of January when I followed the Fast Track for 2 weeks. I like being in this area, I feel good, my clothes feel good, and my mind is in a good place. I did gain previous to the Fast Track over Christmas and I say that because I did well up until the week of Christmas/New Years with maintaining. Pam: I so know what you experienced the other night with going from one thing to another. The best thing to do is move forward and try to not dwell on it. That's what I do--focus on all the good things you've done like drinking your water, etc. Domina: Enjoy the recipe--it tastes sooo good! There's a recipe in the new WW cookbook Winner's Circle for a crab spread that I'm going to try, one of the members made it and said it was really good and a keeper. The school students are all off the same time (I think) with the exception of maybe the high school where they might be off all next week. DS #2 is off Thursday-Tuesday, same as DS #1. The weather here today was cold & gray, I think we may have hit 40 but I'm not certain about that. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer. I'm going to Applebee's tomorrow evening with 2 of my WW friends and I'll get to try their new menu. We're driving 40 minutes to get to the "test market" but it'll be a nice diversion. I'll check in tomorrow at some point. |
It's nice here today, but we're expecting some rain. We need the rain though; too many brush fires.
I did pretty well yesterday eating-wise. I'm still so mad at myself, but it will come off. No one has invited us for dinner on Easter, so I think I'll make a small ham and some side fixings, not sure what, but they won't be high point ones! :) Melissa, our local kids were out of school last week; it's always earlier in Florida. I'm sorry about your WI, but you know what caused it, so just stay OP and you'll be all right. Let us know how Applebee's is. Pam, I've been playing golf for about a year. I really like it although I think too much and so mess up my shots. DH started playing a month ago and is a natural. I don't get out as much as I would like, but now that the time has changed , there will be more opportunities. lala, I'm glad you enjoyed your lesson. It's really an interesting game. Why do you need to fill so many eggs? How many people are you expecting? Hello to Susan, but I think she said she would be out and about. |
Hi everyone,
Domina and Melissa -- don't worry about your weigh ins. You'll be down by next week. Susan -- did your sister's passport show up? I hope that you and your family have a good visit. Pam -- Last evening was really hard for me. I came home early to drop off the dog and get ready for my spatial analysis seminar and I dozed on the couch and missed the seminar. I ate a not healthy meal of trader joe's flatbreads with peanut butter and honey -- not too bad, some greek yoghurt with frozen fruit (again not bad) and later a chai latte and half of an oatmeal cookie (not good choices). If I had my planner and tracker with me, I would have realized I had only 10 points left in the day and would have skipped the cookie entirely and perhaps realized that vegetables would be a better choice. Oh well, NGAMO. I have little or no control at night when I'm tired and not planning. However, like you, today is another day. Well, my friend just dropped off another two bags of candy for easter. Domina -- we do a small hunt for kids in our yard on Saturday. On Sunday, we expand the hunt to our back yard, front yard, side yard, porch and parking strip. Suffice it to say, there are some pretty ardent hunters in our group. My mom called yesterday and she's flying up for Easter! I am soo excited. My dad is going to stay in San Diego and supervise the contractors working on their new house. I am hoping my mom and I can go through some of our stuff to see if any of my housewares will work with their new condo. I would love to declutter my extra working coffee maker, cuisinart and most excellent serving dishes and platters.... :) Okay, to work, to manage, to delegate.... lala |
Hi Everyone,
Late post for me today, the day just got away from me! Well today was better, (so far) with my eating. I have a few things to do right after work so I tried to prepare myself for that by having a more filling lunch and a late afternoon snack. Hopefully that will work. Lala I just love Trader Joes. They just opened one up a few miles from my house and I've been making regular pilgrimages. I love the Greek Total Yogurt, it's so filling. Also have gotten myself hooked on their veggie egg rolls. Have a nice time with your Mom this weekend and with all of your Easter festivities, sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Melissa Enjoy your vacation!! Domina It's funny, I started golfing with my son and he was a "natural" also. His golf swing is amazing and I think it has something to do with him being a very good baseball player..just a natural type of swing. Oh well, he is much better than me now so we don't play together too much anymore. Susan Hope your packing is going well!! Pretty soon you'll be in warm sunny Cuba. :) Take Care.... Pam |
Hi! It's sort of gloomy here today--maybe some rain on the way. I have play rehearsal tonight and tomorrow afternoon. Then lots of singing at Church for Holy Week. On Sunday, DH and I are going to play golf. Not much else going on.
Pam, keep playing; I think it's fun and you get to be outside. Melissa and Susan, enjoy your vacations. lala, I hope you survive all of the kiddies with the egg hunt. What is Trader Joe's? Is it a grocery store or a health food store? Happy Easter everyone. |
Beautiful here today again. I am wearing a springy skirt in the style of something judy jetson would wear, I have had several compliments. :)
I can't figure out how to best organize my time. I was up at 7 am, but between the dog getting up and needing to go out and putter, the laundry getting started, the cat needing attention and the getting to the gym, getting the dog to the groomer and wat not, I didn't get to work until 9:30. Argh. Anyways, I need to leave early today as I need to pick up mom from the airport. I called yesterday to make sure she had put in her Frequent Flyer number (she hadn't) and the woman on the phone said that she couldn't believe she would fly by herself at her age. Whaaat? My mom went to Turkey all by herself last year. She is very independent. I hope to flying to Raratonga at 76! Anyhoo, nuff said. Domina -- you sound busy. I hope the weather clears up for you. We worked on our swings yesterday. I have a lot of practicing to do. It was fun though. Trader Joes is a small grocery store chain that started in California and worked its way up the West Coast and to the North East. Its slowly moving to the Rust Belt and who know where after that. It has amazing prices on organic products, great frozen ready to eat meals and veggies and wine. I'm not a big fan of their wine, but we use them for staples such as yoghurt, green beans (jacques faves), milk and cheese. I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I'm spending tonight filling eggs :) lala |
