Thumbs down Breakfast Ideas...NOT EGGS

Alright...I am struggling with this one... I have never been a Breakfast person but know I have to eat it everymorning. I get up just in time to shower and leave...not enough time to eat. Though I can make something SMALL at work.

I am trying to stay away from the carbs as much as possible so something high in protein to keep me full until lunch would be great... But I can't eat eggs or much dairy because it upsets my stomach. Usually I have an apple or banana in the morning or a packet of oatmeal...but something different would be a great suggestion to get out of the rut...

Thanks for the help!!

How about some lean lunch meats. Does cheese upset your stomach? If not, you could have that, or cottage cheese. Peanut Butter is also good. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions... I am SUCH a picky eater... I can handle small amounts of cheese so that is an option. I don't like cottage cheese and really don't like PB... I know my husband thinks it's the weirdest thing. But I am trying to have an open mind and something is bound to sound wonderful to me :-) Thanks again!!

how about protein shakes, they are low in carbs and some of the ready made ones aren't too bad. I did get a suggestion of a spoonful of SF pudding mix makes the ones you make a bit tastier.....

How about smoothies? I usually do a smoothie and plan a mid morning snack around 10:00. Here are a bunch of http://pub11.************/fwwunoffici...ragesanddrinks smoothie recipes.

I also do one that is 4 points and 3 servings of fruit and 1 serving of dairy:

1 1/2 cups of frozen fruit (from a large package like at Costco or Sam's Club)
1 1/2 oz banana
8 ounce of non-fat plain yogurt
1 cup Diet V8 Splash
Sweetener to taste

Try CarbSolutions Shake - 20 grams of protein and only 2 points. You could always use it as a base and add some fruit to it.

Piece of fruit with a small handful of unsalted almonds. I find that the nuts can be quite filling....so long as they are not a trigger food for you.

I need protein for breakfast as well, and will second the mini bagel idea with 1 wedge of laughing cow cheese (YUM) and Hillshire Farm 6 slices of ham! I love it You can make it up the night before and wrap it in aluminum foil or something and just grab and go straight from your fridge.

I tend to run out the door for work and grab my breakfast on the way - this morning, I grabbed a Rubbermaid container and put in Cream of Wheat and the water, took another small container and put some milk in it. I nuked it for about 2 minutes at work and had a nice hot breakfast!

You guys have GREAT info. Love the mini-bagel sandwich idea. I am doing the Protein Shake this morning...we will try that and see if I get hungry fast!! Maybe that's all I will need. :-)
