It is rainy here today and very warm.
I'm still not doing well in the food department. I'm okay for breakfast and lunch and then, whammo, I eat a big dinner and junk food. The junk food is there from Super Bowl Sunday. I should probably throw it out. I'm headed to Salt Lake City for a few days on Sunday. I think it's been in the 30's there. That's not too bad. I will take all of my warm clothes. Melissa, congrats on the weight loss especially during TOM. I hope WW could use me as a fill-in; that might be the way to go. I wouldn't want to be on the schedule all of the time. We'll see. I'm just so busy with all of my singing events. Susan, I hope your training is going well. lala, I hope your mom is doing better. |
Domina: I'd probably get rid of the temptation; if there's stuff around that I like (i.e. overeat) I find it's better to get rid of it rather than get mad at myself later on for eating it. My worst time of the day for eating is in the evening after dinner. It's cold here (24) and there's more sleet/snow/rain in the forecast for late tonight. Tomorrow we're supposed to hit a balmy 44!
Susan: Hope things are going well there! Lala: Hope your mom is doing okay and that your trip to see her goes well. No weekend plans here (thank goodness) so I'm planning on tackling some things I've let go. |
Hi ladies,
My bro called me at 5:30 this am to say that admitted my mom to the hospital. She was really not feeling well and they finally admitted that they should run a few tests and see what is going on. So they did, suffice it to say that I was on a 9:30 flight. She's okay, her MRI shows nothing abnormal, so it could be the stress of the last four months -- selling a house, moving a huge house, getting ready to buy two houses, organizing huge dinner parties, being on a bunch of volunteer committees, having surgery, making enormous changes at the last minute -- things that would exhaust a 35 yo, imagine being a 75 yo! She is staying in the hospital tonight. She looks okay. My bro is flying in tomorrow (huge surgery case today) and the good thing is that we're all going to celebrate my brother's bd together. Suffice it to say, I'm happy that she's normal, (whew-- no tumour, no stroke) and that I haven't had much of an appetite. I am glad that I have been a bit of a flylady this past few weeks, so all I had to do leave was pack quickly for two days and run to work to get my laptop and a few files. I was supposed to spend the weekend in Berkeley, but looks like that is going to not happen. bummer. Hope everyone is okay, I'll check in tomorrow. lala |
Lala: I hope they find out what's going on with your mom. I'm sure, like you said, that it's a combination of things and I agree, at 41 I'd be stressed so I can just imagine what it's doing to her! One nice point like you said will be that you can celebrate your brother's bd with him.
I did a little flylady stuff last evening and did good with not pulling out more than I could put away in a short amount of time. Finally bagged up the clothes that I had stacked to take to Goodwill and pulled together all my tax stuff so I could get that organized. My GF sent me the paper from the Clearwater area that featured London in the travel section--lots of neat things and there was an article about London Walks that sounds interesting. It looks like a great way to see and hear about the various areas. Weather here is 39 and rainy (no ice--although South of here got it) and it's supposed to get up near 44 again and then drop tomorrow. The temps rising and falling are wreaking havoc on my sinuses. Hi to Domina, Susan, Ideal! |
Hi everyone, I hope you are all getting ready for the weekend.
I am going to berkeley from San Diego and managed to salvage my ticket from seattle, so I'm only out 118 bucks  Melissa-- Londonwalks are great. I picked up a brochure on my last trip and perused it. I think you and your mom would love them. My brother did one a day when he went with his girlfriend. For one thing, they start pretty early in the day, so you enjoy your exercise early and then get to do your own thing later in the day. I have heard good things about the pub walks, but I haven't ever gone on one. Ideal--How are you faring after your accident? Have you managed to find a car? Well, I better scoot my father seems to have had a crisis with an hard boiled egg and the microwave. |
Hi everyone. It's Friday nite, and I've been home with a horrific cold since Wednesday noon. It was coming on all week; I can't remember having a cold this bad in a long, long time - all in the chest and it hurts like heck to cough. I considered going to my doctor but I felt a little better this morniing so hopefully I am on the road to recovery. No runs since Tuesday; I guess if I actually get to do this half-marathon, it will be on a guerney, hooked up to an IV :D
lala: I am so glad you are with your family and that your mom is getting the attention she needs. It would be really hard not to be there to hear first-hand from the medical folks. And bonus to be celebrating your bro's bd. Domina: I am in the same boat as you - all of this junk food hanging around is tempting me greatly. I guess I'll ask DH to hide it or get rid of it tomorrow. Enough already. Melissa: The Londonwalks sound great, and you'll likely learn a lot while seeing the sights. Congrats on the loss this week. HOpe everyone has a great weekend. |
