She ate the WHOLE small pizza

  • I couldn't believe my eyes. We were at Donatos the other day and there was a lady, all by herself, in the booth next to us. She had a small pepperoni pizza -- not an individual -- in front of her. Before we left she had eaten the WHOLE pizza herself!!! WOW.

My mom and I always -- even before WW -- get an individual pizza and side salad and split them and now I have a 21 month old daughter so we split it three ways. We are full with that amount of food.

I am still in shock. Just think of how many points she ate just for that meal. ( 64 pts. I went to their web site and figured the points just to see) I will say she definately wasn't small but think of how unhealthy that is.

Weight Watchers has made me so much more aware of other people's bad eating habits that I really think about what I eat now. I am so glad I started as it may save my life or a family members some day from having clogged veins from all the grease in our foods.

This is a life style change and an awaking too!
  • You know, that lady was me before I joined WW. Donatos is my favorite pizza place. I would eat a whole med Works by myself in one sitting!!!!! Once in awhile I would get a large and then have it for breakfast the next day. I have not been able to get pizza for my kids there, because I still lust after it.
  • I could have kept up with her in the "old" days. Seeing someone eat like that strengthens my resolve!!!!
  • So what!
I've put away (and still can) 3/4 of a large Papa John's pizza. Do I....no! While we are all concerned and enthusiastic about what we put into our bodies....those who choose not to care we can't control them.

We've learned portion control, she has not.

I've tried not to judge people by what and how they eat.

I've go a skinny friend (5'5" and 110 pounds) who eats a whole large pizza along with drinking beer to wash it down. The pizza is her only food vice.

Watch, don't judge and remember how much better you feel now that you know how to eat better.
  • Small pizza-piece of cake. I could STILL eat a whole small pizza if I was hungry enough and sometimes entertain the thought. What stops me, though, is remembering how big I was and how much I now enjoy being a normal size.
  • That lady was me before Weight Watchers (and sometimes DURING my WW journey!). Only I didn't settle for a small pizza, I went for a medium and could EASILY eat every bite. When I lived in town and could order in, I got a large one and would eat half and then go back for the rest that night while watching TV. No problemo!

When I dine out, it's funny, but I no longer catch myself watching the other fat people. It's the skinny ones that really grab my attention! They either eat everything on the plate(s!) (these gals must have a marvelous metabolism) or they eat half the dinner and stop. I know my metabolism is not too good, so I try to follow the lead of the second group and eat only half my dinner. I can't stand to waste food so I order a to-go container and place half of my meal in it for later. But this would NEVER work for me with pizza, because pizza is just too easy to eat in the car and I KNOW I would find myself finishing it off on the hour drive home!
  • A few summers ago I would order a medium stuff-crust cheese and mushroom pizza from Pizza hut and have it all for myself (I think each slice of that is already at least 10 points)!!! Let's just say I don't do that anymore, but I probably could if I wanted to, it still takes a long time for me to feel full.

I am also guilty of watching what others eat, fat or thin. My leader admitted to doing this as well. Yes I am jealous of those girls who can shovel down food and seem to be very thin, but I have to be careful with what I intake, that's the way it goes. Most of the thin girls I know only eat about half of what they order, I am working hard at doing that as well.

    Take Care!

  • I guess I just can't get over it because I never ate like that and still was heavy. Maybe I was just jealous!

You are right Kelly S, I do feel 1000%, yes 1000% better just losing 15 lbs and knowing that I don't eat like that by choice and feel blessed I am not obsessed with food, just overweight because of my genes and body type -- which sometimes is worse because I can't control those things.

I also lost that 15 lbs by all the support on this site.
    Thanks to all.

  • Hey, Jillysmom, let's be fair to the poor woman--she has the exact same problem we do--she's just not doing anything about it yet! You don't have to be "obsessed with food" to be overweight, and no one is overweight SOLELY "because of genes and body type" (although those do have some effect on how quickly we put on/lose weight). We are overweight because we eat more calories than we burn--period. And we all have the power to control that!
