New Membmer

Hi Everyone,
I'm back to ww and the new smart points system after a couple of years of not doing weight watchers and let me tell you, the scale shows....I'm 53 years old and have gone through menopause. My weight is the highest it's ever been and my body shape has completely changed (have a huge gut). I joined last Monday and tonight will be my first weigh in and i'm glad to be on this forum as I need all the support I can get. I need to lose 50 pounds. I want to get back into my clothes and have a good summer next year where i'm not covering my arms and in the same clothes constantly (i refuse to buy bigger clothes). Please wish me luck xo.

Starting weight 203.8

Linda ~ Wonderful loss! :carrot: We always hope for more, but in the scheme of things it is the total of consistent weigh-ins that are what matter!

Believe me, I am talking to myself here.

You are doing great. You took the first and second steps. One meeting, then another. I take it week by week, day by day, and moment to moment!

Thanks for being so positive Joyce, I really appreciate it.
One more thing, I'd like to add the weight loss ticker as you have..how do i do that?

2 pounds is wonderful!

Here is a thread on having a ticker.

Linda~ You have to have at least 20 posts and be on the boards 20 days.
Once you meet the criteria, go to TickerFactory.com and follow the directions.
Then copy and paste the code by clicking on User CP near the top of this page and edit your signature.

I lost 1.5 pounds this week, wished it were more, but I am determined to stick this out: weekly weight to weekly weight, whatever it is!!

Keep going!!! We can do this!:hug:

I am so envious of those who can loose more than a pound a week. I lost about 65 pounds but I usually didn't lose more than half a pound a week. And, there were plenty of weeks that were .2 a week.

I think many of us want to lose weight quickly. I know I did. But, it took me almost 5 years. There was one point where I had a big regain of about 40 pounds in it where I lost about a year and half. Without that I would have done this in 2 to 2 1/2 years.

But, ultimately I got there. And, I didn't get there by having big losses every week. Don't get me wrong: Some people have them and that is great. But, due to the fact that I am short and older and due to my lifestyle (working at a desk), I tend to not burn a huge number of calories except through exercise.

What I did learn is that sticking with it is what was most important to me. By sticking with it even when it was hard and even losses were small, those small losses added up and I got back to goal.
