Question with regards to blended vegetable soups
Just curious if you blend your home made soups, i.e. cream of tomato, creamy zucchini, etc!
Do you click the little box at the bottom of the recipe builder for 'this is a drink' when your soups are blended? |
If you process or blend ingredients you are supposed to check the blended box and count those calories (SPs). I haven't made a homemade soup so it hasn't come up, but if I did I would count that unless the amount was negligible. That is, if there was a low cal veggies that was processed and everything else in the soup wasn't processed I probably wouldn't do it. But, if the whole soup was processed I would.

I would count the points too... I can't imagine that even with the "blended" option it would come out to too many Smart Points... Although if you were blending starchy vegetables than I could see that as being something to alot for... Either way... Enjoy your soup!

I have been counting them. 2 whole points for cream of tomato..., the cream being no fat greek yogurt.
I don't make anything with starchy veggies...yet. Mostly keeping to cream of...mushroom, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, celery etc. And yes..., they are delish, thank you. |
I am new to WW... but the rules clearly say that if it is a soup or a sauce, you do not have to include the points. If it is a smoothie that you have as a 'drink', you DO have to.
|
Yes, that is a change that was recently made. When SmartPoints came out it said that you had to include points if it was Blended, The notes said to do this if the recipe included any blended or processed ingredients at all. More recently, the language in recipe builder has changed to say you count it only if it is a drink.
