Hi Sunarie! Welcome! SoMuchFattitude has a link to a good calculator that matches what WW told me if you want to double check. Congrats on the loss so far!

SoMuchFattitude - I've thought about it but meh ... I went through and plugged in everything and I have 12 weeklies left and 4 days left LOL.

This is so different from the last time I did WW. I barely ever touched my weeklies. I think part of it is that I eat a higher fat now?

But it seems to be working so far - down 5.6 lbs in 2 weeks. I guess I just feel nervous that the overages will catch up to me.

AND my daily points can't go any lower right? 26 is rock bottom, right? RIGHT? I can't handle another reduction hahaha

SoMuchFattitude 09-26-2014 12:20 PM

HAHAHA - yes, 26 is the lowest you can go.

Welcome Sunarie!! :)

sunarie 09-26-2014 01:49 PM

Thank you for the welcome :) I used this calculator http://gnomes22.tripod.com/dailypptarget.html, but if someone wants to check for me that'd be great. I'm 5'4 (or 64 inches), currently 238lbs, and female. Not breastfeeding or anything like that.

37 just seemed like a lot once I started looking at recipes. Not that it's really something to complain about. It's more that eating a lot while on a diet is a foreign concept to me based on other diets I've done in the past.

SoMuchFattitude 09-26-2014 02:14 PM

Sun - I'm 5'5" and 239. I get 37 points, too.

Alright, sounds like mine is good then. Thank you!

It makes sense because I -have- been losing. It is a bit of a good feeling to not be starving myself, which is one of the reasons I picked weight watchers instead of some of the others. I've never had success with what I like to refer to as starvation type diets where I feel hungry a lot.

I also like what you pointed out in the other thread, which I had quoted but hadn't really noticed.. about letting hunger and weight loss be your guide.

Welcome Sunarie!

Linda - I haven't been very diligent about tracking this week, I'm really going to be good about it next week. I should say starting today but it's Friday!! :D

Weigh in today - down 1lb. I looked back at my weight loss the first time around and I have a tendency to loss a few one week and then nothing the following week. So I'm pretty happy with 3 straight weeks of losing!

Have a great weekend everyone!

SoMuchFattitude 09-29-2014 07:39 AM

Oh boy y'all. This weekend....this weekend has me messed up. I don't even know why I ate what I ate, but I'm in the red big time!!! As in -115 weeklies. OUCH! Which undoubtedly means I'll have a gain this week. The only difference for me this time is that I tracked it all. I used to binge and be like, "F*ck it! - I'll start tracking points tomorrow." This weekend I kept myself accountable - well, at the end. I calculated all my damage yesterday. Perhaps next time I'll track as I go so I'll be more inclined to make good choices. The things we learn, right? Weight loss is never cut and dry.

Congrats Jelma!!! -1lbs is always better than +1lbs!

Sunarie - I like WW because I have control over my food, intake and type. WW serves as a guide for portions and quality control. I like the flexibility with WW!

sunarie 09-29-2014 12:44 PM

Jelma - Congrats on the losses! Even if it seems small it's always good to see the scale trending downward continuously.

SoMuchFattitude - That's what I'm finding I love about WW too. It seems to be more about reforming your eating patterns slowly, and helping you to learn to make good choices rather than restricting, which is really helping me stick to it. I may not make all good choices yet, but I'm definitely moving in that direction, and it feels more like a lifetime change than just a diet. That you kept yourself accountable this weekend is awesome :) Keep at it!

I had a bad day yesterday (not diet related) and ended up throwing back a few drinks when we got home. So for the first day since I started I went into my weekly points by 10. Typically I haven't been touching them. That's what they're there for though. Probably not good that I used it on sweet alcoholic drinks, oh well.

SoMuchFattitude 09-30-2014 07:43 AM

Sunarie, we all have bad days. I'd die without using my weeklies. Part of what makes WW successful for me is the freedom I have with it. The fact that I can use my Weeklies on what I want...like bourbon...is huge. LOL

---

I RAN! I RAN! I RAN!!! OMG!!! I RAN. I'm sorry, ya'll. That's huge for me. My exercise department has been severely lacking in the whole commitment area. It's been a really challenging year for DH and myself. He is now working from home, but works on West Coast time (we live on the East coast) so he is working 9-6pm and I *was* working 7-3. As you can imagine, it's hard to be on two totally different schedules than your partner. Before he started West Coast hours we would run three times a week and spin two times a week together. Since I was home by 330 I'd basically putz around for a few hours until he was done. I'd try and talk myself into running, but it sucked without him out there.

This week I shifted to 4 10 hour rotating days (7a-5p). For some reason, that's worked mentally for me. We ran last night, even though it meant we didn't eat dinner until 8pm. The bigger part is that we knew our hot water heater is broken (they're fixing it today) so we knew we'd have to take ice cold showers after AND WE STILL RAN.

I'm sorry, I feel on top of the world today. LOL - My insomnia was TERRIBLE last night and I made a DD stop, so maybe it's the caffeine I'm not used to having. :dizzy:

lindalee9 09-30-2014 02:50 PM

Hey everybody!

Weigh in is today and GAIN of 2.2 lbs for me :(

But it's definitely not a shocker since I ate everything last week. It got to the point where I was like well my week is shot so I might as well not even try the rest of the week.

Today is a new day and the start of my WW week and at least I am paying attention and KNOW what I did/ate. Rather than burying my head in the sand.

---------------------

SoMuchFattitude - congrats on your run! It must feel great to get back to something you enjoy. I'm adjusting to a change in my husband's work schedule as well and it can be tough. Maybe that's why I ate everything last week LOL

Congrats Jelma on the loss! Keep it up!

Sunarie - that is exactly what they're there for! My first time on WW I never used them. Now I'm having trouble keeping within them hahaha

sunarie 09-30-2014 03:38 PM

It is nice to have the flex of the weeklies so that a little mess up doesn't mean I went off diet plan. It's sort of relaxing and I keep having to remind myself that while it wasn't the best nutritional choice, I am still on plan for the week. I'm .6lbs down from the same day last week, but down a total of 5.2 for the month. Slowly but surely trending downwards. I have a bad habit of weighing myself daily that I can't seem to break.

SoMuchFattitude - Sorry to hear about the insomnia and the cold water but way to go on the running! It's absolutely wonderful that you have an exercise you can enjoy.

lindalee9 - Weight going up happens. I find the best thing to do when I make a bad decision is to try and let that be the only one. Try to take one day at a time, and not fall into the "well the week is already ruined..." mentality. Easier said than done, I know (I have been guilty of those same thoughts). It's good that you're holding yourself accountable now though, and paying attention this week :)

SoMuchFattitude 09-30-2014 03:59 PM

Linda, it happens! At least you're aware and ready to make different choices this week! :)

Sun, I had to destroy my scale to break that habit. It's much better now!

And ladies, don't get it twisted. I hate running, but I do it because of how I feel AFTER I finish. LOL! I'm way more of a cyclist, but lately, it's been easier to throw on running shoes and hit the pavement than rack my bike on the car, drive to the trail and then ride. Also, running is a 30-45 minute commitment, where as I can spend hours cycling before I'm ready to stop. Oh boy, I just realized I view cycling as a "treat." I'm so messed up.

sunarie 09-30-2014 06:18 PM

Oh wow, I can't really even imagine destroying the scale. Currently I only weigh myself in the morning after using the bathroom... and I am okay with being away from the scale. The entire week I was out of town for my sister's wedding, I didn't have access to a scale at all. I still know I should probably stop.. but then I wouldn't have a way to weigh myself at all since I don't do weight watchers meetings and all. I don't know.

As for exercise.. I love elliptical machines. I want to get one, but no room in the apartment. Our apartment complex has some in it's fitness center, but the anxiety I get being around people, or about people watching me in the gym has prevented me from using it. I've been instead doing a combination of daily burn stuff and Just Dance sweat mode.

Sorry for the double post. SoMuchFattitude, I shared your blog post in the 20-somethings forum, in a thread I participate in there, and on my Facebook page. I hope you don't mind. I really liked the message, and the points you made about how the scale effects attitude... even if I'm not ready to give mine up.

I didn't think to check if that was okay until after I had shared it. If it's not alright, please let me know and I can take down the links.

SoMuchFattitude 10-01-2014 02:25 PM

No, of course not! Please - share away! :) I started my blog a couple of years ago just for myself really and I've grown to over 1300 followers. The more the merrier and if I can provide support and inspiration along the way for someone, the better it is for me. My blog/readers have really given me motivation and drive when I've needed it. I'm glad to have you there! :hugs:

DH and I are trying to sneak in one more run before our 5k on Saturday. We used to do monthly 5k or 10k races outside of triathlon season. This is my first race since April!!! :tape: And next week means I have to get my life together for real since I start my half marathon training. If I disappear from the forums it's because I died. I actually died.
